I used to roleplay as peyton every sunday night playing madden. i would watch the colts game and play against the same team the colts played, and tried to run similar plays that they ran.
I'm late 30's miss those dudes and all that age bracket. Rivers, Brees, Roethlisberger, Luck, Romo (even if I wasn't a fan), the Mannings as you mentioned, and that's just on the QB side and I am missing some names. But it's whole different world out there in the game. Nostalgia is bittersweet. Cheers to the new generation!
There's gonna be another Manning soon. Gonna be a whole damn dynasty. Their nephew is breaking high school records. And their own sons are coming up through middle school. We gonna have a whole dang family taking over the NFL for the next 20 years
His footwork in "the pocket" looked faster that his last couple of years playing. It must have been the hair and the mullet. 😄 Eli's arm did look pretty damn good. He was throwing 40 to 50 yards downfield without a problem. Also, I have to mention how much class Eli showed when he was benched in favor of Daniel Jones (on whom the jury is still out in his make or break season). After the way that he was treated by the 49ers, perhaps the same can be said about Jimmy Garappolo but look how that has worked out. Irony and karma can be real tricksters, can't they?
This is awesome. Please do more skits like this..Eli referring to himself in the 3rs person is priceless..Even Peyton had to put his head down on that lol
He really showed what some of those players were capable of. Colleges really should bring in some undercover alumni to help test the waters for these walk-ons. See what someone is capable of when they are working with someone of that caliber but without having the nerves of knowing who it is.
This made me truly realize the size of the monsters in Pro Football. I always thought of him as "average" size. He looked huge compared to the other "tryouts". 6'4" ain't small by any means, but on the pro field, he didn't look anywhere near that size.
I know... and did you see the vid with Tebow and Eli? Tebow looked much larger but I thought Eli was average size... now that I see how big Eli is here, Tebow must be hugh?
Just remember that 2" and 15 pounds are usually added on in the sports world. That is why it was obvious that Johnny Manziel was going to fail in the NFL. He was even smaller than advertised at just 5'9" or 5'10". But, he didn't have the brains or attitude of a Doug Flutie.
"Chad Powers, you ain't seen nothing like him. He's not just good looking, he can throw it". OMG I had to watch this twice. I'll always remember the legend that is Chad Powers. Minchew has nothing on him.
A leader is someone on the battlefield not some guy or girl that plays a game to make a living and makes millions of dollars to do so. I like Eli but let’s be real. He has never served in the US armed forces like a lot of us and definitely not over 20 years like some of us. All facts boys and girls.
Any coach at that level who's unable to recognize NFL quality arm talent should be fired by default and believe me there are coaches that are so biased that sone do this...just absolutely refuse to believe in and play the best player because he didn't come in with nearly as much hype as a highly coveted recruit.
Just like his DirectTV commercial in lieu of Rob Lowe that they ran for like 10 quarterbacks; some better than others: th-cam.com/video/c7YPAoTfrLU/w-d-xo.html
The Goff Juco transfer joke was what got me. He made a bunch of genuine prospects look into themselves, he was that good. If I was a college coach I would want an NFL player to come down and show my guys both where they are, and where they need to be. Great content.
It's like the pitcher for the dodgers trevor bauer. since he's not playing right now, he goes and pitches against college and high school players. Some people think it's wrong for a pro to go against a high school kid, but I think if a pro can play against or with someone at a lower level, it will do nothing but help that younger player.
That was awesome lol. The Manning brothers are really funny, and a good example of guys who can be around the game and be successful after football without coaching. Just find your lane
@@carlevans8825 yeah it's weird how Peyton took so long to become relaxed in front of a camera --- but now he's a really natural comic with good timing 😂
It took time for Peyton to become confident and comfortable with speaking in front of the camera. When he came here to UT, he had a speech impediment so he took speech therapy to help his annunciations. He’s so much better now. But I believe most Universities do that with their star athletes who are going to get media interviews.

Watching this as a 56 year old lifelong Cowboy fan, obviously I find myself enjoying and actually "gasp" liking Eli Manning...ugh, never thought my mouth would ever utter that phrase lol. Seriously, he is very likable and he and Peyton remind me of the competitions with my little brother. Sibling rivalry and the special bond with brothers never leaves you! Good stuff Eli!!
One of the greatest things about this era of pro football and media access is getting to see these guys in the next stages of their careers. I grew up watching the Cowboys play in the 70's at my grandparents house and many people who were seen as the enemy, like Terry Bradshaw and others Cowboys/Oilers verboten, you got to know outside of that rivalry. The Mannings are Louisiana boys at heart who went to college in the SEC and went on to play for teams in the NFL and win Super Bowls, with so far amazing careers post-football so far. God bless them.
Seeing Eli do something like this is beyond hilarious. During his career l thought the dude had zero personality but he is actually pretty funny. I love the Manning cast
If my friend told me he caught passes from eli manning at a penn state tryout I would not believe him. Excellent video from a buckeye fan. Good luck penn state!
Nice of Coach Franklin, one of the classiest head coaches in the world, to go along with this stunt. I can't imagine him not giving his coaches the heads up before hand so they could still be objective about the other walk-ons. Chad was right, some of those short passes definitely going to leave a mark on those receiver's chests! And each one of those kids will be double dog motivated to chase their Div 1 football dreams. Go Lions!
I like this. It's very wholesome. Everybody's coming together, no matter their height, their weight, their creed, their race, their gender, whatever, man, they're coming together. That's what Football and Eli Manning is all about, yo!
Really good Video , this was hilarious, the Manning bros were excellent players hence Two Super Bowl trophies each. But they always had that sense of humor and really laid back style, I remember that ESPN commercial they did with their dad. I always like Eli as a player he is Hall of Fame eligible as far I’m concerned. It was cool that the Penn State couch allowed that.Put some fun in the practice/tryouts.
It's funny that in all of those years that he played for the NY Giants, well or not so well at times, Eli was always so reserved and didn't let the NY press get to him. He had flashes of some comic chops when he hosted SNL a few times but that was about it. Now, a couple of years since retiring, Eli has really stepped out of the shell and is pretty funny, especially when he and Payton are doing things together. I don't know whether Eli will ever make the Hall of Fame but, hell, he's got two Superbowl rings and MVPs. He threw, what may be the best pass in Superbowl history when, in XLVI, he hit Mario Manningham perfectly on deep sideline route for a 40 yard plus gain. Manningham made a great catch but Eli laid that ball right into his hands and away from the DB who had good coverage. Even Tom Brady, on the sideline, could be seen saying, "that's a catch". As a lifelong (and at times long suffering) Giants fan, all I can say is "Thanks Eli and enjoy your retirement. You've earned it".
He did the Dirty Dancing scene with OBJ. Just like SNL before, he never really been in that shell people keep saying. He been doing similar skits since he appeared in SNL. A couple yrs of Football on your phone commercials. Dirty Dancing during the Superbowl, etc. Just because he wasn't very vocal or controversial with media didn't mean he was in a shell.
He’s 100% getting in the HOF. I mean, we’re talking about a 2x Super Bowl MVP who defeated the 18-0 Pats with the GOAT QB and GOAT HC. Shoe in first ballot, no doubt.
I mean it's bad enough when the guy you're competing with can throw the ball like that, it's even worse when he finds out he didn't make the team and then literally peels his own face off. That Had to have been traumatic for those kids.
Nah those kids have grown up with Tik Tok, I.G and TH-cam, they anticipate viral moments, and Tik Toks like they breath air and their heart beats.. They half live in reality half live in virtual reality thats not even a diss Just a sign of the times.
I love the Manning brothers. They were both great quarterbacks, unquestionably, but the two of them show that they have a lot of fun and are as humble as the next person.
These are Guys who when they played the game, were extremely Talented and very serious about their Careers but Now that they are retired have found that their lives because of Football has become just as Good as when they Played the Game! You might see another Manning in the NFL soon. Arch Manning the son of Peyton and Eli's older brother Cooper might be in the league in 3-4 years.
We gonna have a whole dang family taking over the NFL for the next 20 years
I've seen a couple of these types of videos where an athlete goes undercover, but this is hands down the best one. It's so funny and so good.
This is gold. They could make a film about Chad. And Eli’s still got it!!! 💪
Compared to vollege walk ons he def still ELITE!!!

He really showed what some of those players were capable of. Colleges really should bring in some undercover alumni to help test the waters for these walk-ons. See what someone is capable of when they are working with someone of that caliber but without having the nerves of knowing who it is.
This comment is golden.
Yeah let’s bring in NFL stars to help with college try-outs sounds real cheap
@@tobyflederstech5305if the nfl player is an alumni they’ll likely do it for free
This made me truly realize the size of the monsters in Pro Football. I always thought of him as "average" size. He looked huge compared to the other "tryouts". 6'4" ain't small by any means, but on the pro field, he didn't look anywhere near that size.
Totally he looks skinny on an NFL field but amongst this crowd he was quite large!!!
I know... and did you see the vid with Tebow and Eli? Tebow looked much larger but I thought Eli was average size... now that I see how big Eli is here, Tebow must be hugh?
Just remember that 2" and 15 pounds are usually added on in the sports world. That is why it was obvious that Johnny Manziel was going to fail in the NFL. He was even smaller than advertised at just 5'9" or 5'10". But, he didn't have the brains or attitude of a Doug Flutie.
Doesn't help that qb's are always surrounded by the biggest guys on the teams lol
A QB has to be tall enough to see over the monsters fighting in front of him

The Goff Juco transfer joke was what got me. He made a bunch of genuine prospects look into themselves, he was that good. If I was a college coach I would want an NFL player to come down and show my guys both where they are, and where they need to be. Great content.
Eli was a hell of a QB at Ole Miss in college.
