I don't think so. The story is more complicated than that. The woman in a abusive relationship can't just get out of it. Her brain is washed up and she lost, if she ever had, any sense of 'normality'. Many of these women already experienced abuse and violence earlier in life, or they were raised in such enviroment. It is a trauma bond and it takes a lot of psycotherapy and time to heal. Also, society often raise girls to be nice, obediant, submissive, not to stand for themselfes. That doesn't help them later in life and you get insecure person, who doesn't know how to say no, set boundaries, what is her/his general direction in life.

Women have a responsibility to themselves first like any other living creature and too often refuse it in favor of whatever the man says he needs or thinks he needs or wants. I’d like someone, anyone to show not tell, show how that dominance submission model has worked out well from ancient times to the present day across the cultures. What is the point of that in a relationship based on mutuality and reciprocity in a civil society ? Cui Bono? I never once in all the time growing up behave like those 2 kids did in 20 minutes. Neither did my brothers and sisters.
Lol only when mummy was out of the house. Then my brother and I would fight over who was boss while mum was out.
My neighbours children would disagree ?

What is wrong with this people, lady if you do not care about yourself, think about your kids. Why do many of these victims, cover for their abusers.
Because of shock, and the overwhelming majority of lets not make a fuss, everything is alright and to get back to normal.
Are women really this foolish for a man?
Yes. Anna Karenina comes to mind; Madame Bovary; all fiction of course but truth is stranger than fiction.
Apparently, it takes around 27 attacks before a woman will leave an abusive man.
