Woman are not taught to see the monsters, they are taught to heal, be sweet and that everyone can change for the better, and that it their fault. Maybe we should teach girls something better.

Lets flip the script and try holding men accountable for their brutal behavior toward the physically weaker sex. Too much to ask⁉️ of course, a gun levels the field. Here’s a clue: train the second sex in self defense, martial arts and weaponry. Forget the home economics! And ditch all that sugar and spice and everything nice propaganda . Wish I knew before I start watching this episode if the irritating Pat & Mike domestic dramas are as frequent as in earlier episodes. I've just about had enough of that 'entertainment'.

I don't think so. The story is more complicated than that. The woman in a abusive relationship can't just get out of it. Her brain is washed up and she lost, if she ever had, any sense of 'normality'. Many of these women already experienced abuse and violence earlier in life, or they were raised in such enviroment. It is a trauma bond and it takes a lot of psycotherapy and time to heal. Also, society often raise girls to be nice, obediant, submissive, not to stand for themselfes. That doesn't help them later in life and you get insecure person, who doesn't know how to say no, set boundaries, what is her/his general direction in life.
Unconvincing.....dogs, especially big ones, usually jump at the attacker of their master/mistress in order to defend them but the dog in the programme did nothing but bark. Useless thing.

The Chopin was fine that guitar 'playing' was unbearable. I would never have started watching if I had known my eardrums would be assaulted by that noise. Why are all the children in this show acting out or acting weird?

I dont know about England but in all countries that I know off, nobody dares to mess with the family of a law enforcement ( exception ; organized crime in certain countries). Women have a responsibility to themselves first like any other living creature and too often refuse it in favor of whatever the man says he needs or thinks he needs or wants. And what if he is mistaken? Both wasted. That dominance submission thing: men socialized one way, women another fails everyone ultimately. We’re not hunter gatherers anymore and what may have been useful centuries ago or on the battlefield does not serve us well today. I’d like someone, anyone to show not tell, show how that dominance submission model has worked out well from ancient times to the present day across the cultures. IMHO, observation, education and lived experience Dominance creates push back and submission encourages tyranny. What is the point of that in a relationship based on mutuality and reciprocity in a civil society ? Cui Bono? Two leading causes of death in women worldwide: violence/homicide in the developed countries and childbirth, an avoidable mortality in the developing. Dying for love on the one hand and dying for lack of proper care giving birth, a human necessity! on the other. Neither is agreeable, acceptable or sustainable.

Mike's ex is an emotionally damaged woman and she is her own worst enemy. It is obviusly, because she choose to be with that violent idiot. She needs psyhological help to realize that nobody deserves to be treated like that. As terrible as that seams, she has that right to do so, but when she putting her children in danger, the empathy stops. Unfortunately, there are so many situationes like that in real life. This is actually quite realistic.
The severely mentally ill crowd this entire show, don't they? Starting with the old angry cop. He's pretty much in a rage all the time, isn't he? Very disturbing.
Seeing the kids playing violent games, and thinking all macabre stuff is normal....one wonders IF series like these are somewhat responsible for this trend...not just in this show, but in general. We are becoming in-sensitised to horrible violence and such shit. 'Too late, the horse has bolted", comes to mind. Such is modern entertainment. :-( Not sure if I want to watch more....and I am no squib.
The actors in this are so good its like watching a quality police mockumentary.

Because of shock, and the overwhelming majority of lets not make a fuss, everything is alright and to get back to normal.
The split screen concept never really caught on, i for one was never a fan however every episode is thoroughly enjoyable.
