Full disclosure: I am a retired theatre critic living in Toronto, Canada. Such amazing acting, so realistic. I hate Det. Walker (the character) and want him to get caught up on something shady I'm sure he has done. Can't wait to see him leave Pat (the brilliantly drawn and interpreted character) alone and get out of her way and life. Hate his character. What a tribute to the director, playwright and the actor's expertise to elicit such a strong emotional response in a viewing in an audience.. Kudos all 'round. Well done. Top marks. Fabulous series. Many thanks ABCD.
Yes I totally agree, the main character Walker puts the creditabilty of this fine Police Drama in doubt.I doubt also if the MET has inconsiderate and hysterical Prima Donnas like this in control but would be worried if it did.
Peter Crossley Hehee, for a split second I thought "ABCD???", then checked to see that the channel is "Trial Retribution"............Yes it is. You must be a keen fan of Joseph's on ABCD, too, because I'm always waiting for his next contribution to show up...;-))
Me too, Walker is a very unlikeable character no redeeming qualities whatsover and often really distracting and making viewing epsiodes unecessariily hard going ......self centred, bsd tempered and rude... A glaringly obvious mistake too is how the scar above Walker's left eye seems to move about betwen series....x
Lynda la Plante is a brilliant writer, I've read most of her books. Great to see these ones made into tv series and on TH-cam ( despite that Mike Walker character being so repulsive imo.)
This series first aired in England in 1997 and continued for a full 12 seasons. For the show to be that old and still able to hold your attention speaks for its craftsmanship and expertise. The only thing that doesn't quite ring true is "Pat's" inability to see through "Walker". She seems just too savvy and intelligent not to catch on to how selfish, jealous and narcissistic he is. Just waiting for the episode where she kicks him to the curb. Time will tell
merjlw : “Aired in England” you say. I wonder what the rest of the island was watching while this was being aired? You are clearly from the U.S.A. Calling the whole of the U.K. (or even Britain,) ‘England ‘ is similar to calling the whole of the U.S.A. ‘Texas.’

Hi Trial & Retribution, don't know if your still reading your msgs. Just want to say a huge thank you. I remember watching all these when they first came out. Do you have prime suspect series. Again many thanks from sunny England.
I feel its a travesty Liz Smith was always typecast as the "old woman". Liz has such depth as an actor and deserved better. These two episodes demonstrate that.
Izzy, while my Jack Russell is certainly an abrasive asshole who doesn't listen to a word I say, he's still a lot more charming and graceful than Mike.
Ill matched, Pat and Mike imho. Tango lessons. Now that would turn drama to comedy. The other woman right after the wife ( not sure the timeline because I don’t watch sequentially) seemed better able to cope with his, to put it nicely, idiosyncrasies . Interesting that in British TV fraternizing at work seems common. Across the pond that is discouraged ; it happens but no one admits it and it is almost always treated in a sordid fashion in television and movies. In fact, the Brits seem to have a healthier attitude about sex, from teenagers to the elderly. Quite potty mouthed they are, too. Much closer to how people actually speak and behave. Well, I guess all the Puritans came to America!
jeanettesdaughter I like your comment, as it's very articulate and to the point. I agree, the characters are well portrayed as realistic people. As for Mike, I can't wait for him to remove himself from Pat's life, as he's a real jerk. I'm Irish, btw...;-)
Claire Cullen Yeah, the series went down hill, when she stopped. I’ve seen the first five episodes hundreds og times - had them on VHS and loved them, but the when she stopped, it wasn’t the same.
@@ALFeneFLA Could not agree more! Buffery a SUPERB actress.... ESPECIALLY in THIS episode.....& the one with Richard E Grant! These early episodes best things Lynda la Plante ever did! BUT! What on EARTH does she (Kate/Pat) see in Mike...??? OMG!!!👎🤮😡🤯😫
Well spotted, masks would be a MUST in the discovery of old remains, you never know what they died from. Plus there is mention of LIME being poured over body, that stuff destroys the lungs. Great story lines as ever, terrible production. I wonder if the producers have ever been in a court of law?
More boring, contrived domestic soap-opera. There's scarcely a scene when the 2 leads are together where one or the other doesn't say something that gets the other's back up. Then later there's the follow-up scene where he apologises - with or without flowers - or she says "sorry" and blames the pressure of work for her techiness... Just so predictable. That facial reconstruction business is a worthless fraud.
Thanks YT for uploading. Enjoying from Belgium!

Lynda laplante always has a genius of creating characters you detest, yet can't stop watching.
Many thanks ABCD for posting this T and R series. Binge watching from Toronto, Canada.
Binge watching from Italy, I don't usually like this type of series, but this series is compelling. I close my eyes during the gruesome bits :)
Hello from🌵Tucson Arizona🌵
This is an excellent series. Thank you for posting
It’s British that’s why they are so good
Anything by Linda La Plante is exceptional crime drama💪
I like Mike, he is real, and so is Pat.
The only reason I'm still watching is to see Pat dump Mike. Can't wait!
Why?makes no sense.
Me too! He’s repulsive, and a rude pig.
Another great show.👍👍👍💚💙🤗

Both Kate Buffer and David Hayman are both great Actors...!

David Hayman's character reminds me of a Jack Russell Terrier.
Reminds me of a Doberman Pinscher
Reminds me of a rodent - on crack - running around in circles.
I assure you, from experience; a Jack Russell has far more fight ! And tenacity. (BIG GRIN) smilies won't work?

Agreed; great stories, Lousy production. That includes past episodes and in court scenes. Have they ever been in a law court??????

Do the forensics people really go searching for dead bodies in all the white suits with no masks on?

Why didn't Mike ask the Swedish woman about the man in the photo?
I'm getting serious Dorothea Puente vibes already...

Why does the Swedish women speak with a Danish accent?
The Mike actor must work for free.
