Out with my old man for a wild camp!
He’s an extremely young 81 year old and is physically fitter than most 21 year olds. He is a total raw food eater, woodsman, caveman and never washes himself only with water.
An incredible human that will inspire you and make you realise that you still can get outside regardless of age!

I have no words. Your dad is an absolute legend- as are you Al. I found your channel by accident whilst recovering from a mini stroke which I'm recovering well from and Ive slowly worked through every video. I'm a disabled person so I cant climb those mountains so to view them through your eyes and the wonderful Blue's is inspiriing me to fight to make a full recovery and get out there. I now know what made you the inspiration that you are. Thank you for keeping me sane this past few weeks when I needed it. You are amazing. Flipping heck...what a bloke. I'm laying here on my settee, well over weight with all the joint pains your dad spoke about, ( in fact, on my last climb up Ravens Crag I felt like I was going to die....and to be honest I wanted to !!!) (Only joking about wanting to die) And watching how fit an 81 year old CAN be....What an inspiration. I wouldn't ague with any of his advice. He is living proof that he is right, we are wrong. Total respect to the man.

The old saying ' use it or lose it' is certainly true! Unfortunately I lost it after my second lot of surgery for cancer and now my knees have also given up! Your father is an inspiration.
Over half an egg's protein is in the Whites though. Seems like a waste.
Many don’t realise how important the body is until it starts to fail. Your message shows too that sometimes you have no control over that either. All the best to you.

I know it’s a year later but I’ve just watched this and wow, it just resonates with me so much I have to comment even tho you may not see it 😂 Your dad reminds me so much of my grandad, a great bushy, he ate raw but never ate meat, never trusted doctors 😊 always told me you’re your own best Dr. He could still do cartwheels in his 70s and it is so amazing seeing what your dad is able to do in his 80s! I love watching you and beautiful Blue’s adventures as it’s opposite to our climate (tropical north Australia, hot, humid, flat land and crocs!) so love seeing the snow, mountains and your sincere appreciation and respect for the land. What an awesome upbringing you must have had. Thanks for sharing all this magic with us. Cheers from Oz 🦘🇦🇺

They are a dying breed and we all should try be better with our bodies especially with our processed food intake. I’m sure your grandad was awesome 👌

I am so glad I watched this specific offering from you. I only found your channel 5 days ago and you are inspiring. However, you are sadly second in line to your dad, who is not weird, but truly wise. I have to admit, I couldn't eat raw meat, but I try to eat only locally sourced fresh produce which is in season. He's spot on that after millennia we are now eating foods from all over the world out of our local season. Processed food devoid of nutrition and packed with sugar is a poison. Not to mention our digestive system has to deal with processing bacteria which is alien to us. Sorry for waffling on, but thanks to both of you and keep up the excellence you've started here.
I agree mate. We all need to eat better and the sensible people are similar to my dad. Governments should stop allowing crap food that is slowly inhibiting the human race.

Wow, just wow what an amazing guy your Dad is I could just sit and listen to him talk for hrs, I have to say I don't think I could get used to raw food but I totally agree with what he says I have thought for quite a while now that our bodies are not designed to eat hot food and maybe that is where cancers come from......who knows. You should sign him up to a teaching programme visiting schools to teach them some of his skills! Thanks for this video, you and Blue were great as usual but your Dad was the shining light 😊
He does demonstrate some of his skills like rope making at shows and schools but not so much about the raw food. We are definitely poisoning our bodies!

Ive just spent a wonderful time watching this video of you and your Dad.....Wow what a man and a great advert for his lifestyle. I am 77 and mountainneered until my career stopped me !! Brought up on the mountains of Wales...PenYrFan Corn Ddu..Tryffan.Snowdon The Black Mountains etc etc. Now im finally fully retired im thinking of Wild Camping again in Sotland for the Summer.. Trying to work out a list of suitable equipment to take in my car to keep me safe and warm....Planning to camp as long as im able.....My life moto has always been similar to yours...."Life is better in the wild places'.....Mull and Iona are two favourite places.....Epic.

Good grief! My dad was fit - but nothing compared to that. He is an inspiration. I couldn't beat my dad up the fells until he got into his 70s. He would walk at least six miles a day until he got into his late 80s. Covid took him very peacefully at 94 years old.
We just need to hope we can be near as fit as these legends. 94 is impressive.

I used to do voluntary work with the BTCV. We took groups of kids there and I devised "bird bingo" that we played in the hide. Good to see the place again.

Hi Al, we met you on Uisken beach this week, and you told us about your dad. I just watched this, and I am gobsmacked. He makes so much sense. I.want to try the raw diet to see if it helps my aches and pains, I know people who eat raw and cured illness and arthritic conditions. You are both very inspiring. Just Awsome videos. Yes I guess it is a strong discipline that he feels the benefits of from his hard work. It definitely is a blessing having dads that you can look up to.
