Matteo, I've been playing and teaching guitar for over 40 years...bands, studio, production..etc.. I am super critical about music, I have very high bar!! In all honesty, I have to say you are absolutely a gift from God. I have listen to all the tracks you've made available. Granted some are better than others, but in general, your ideas, approach and technical proficiency is many levels above. I know everyone focuses on your right hand, and that is amazing, but your perception of harmony is crazy. I can only hope that 1 day I can see you play live. I'm Italian, my family is from Palermo. Not easy. His technique is UNIQUE. I never see anyone be able to copy or reproduce it. Its a mix between electric bass and flamenco classic guitar. You don't play only with fingers, but with the NAILS. To reach his speed, clarity and precision request years and years of study and practice imo

Lot of sound from three people. That composition is so well constructed that there's sonic room for everybody to stretch out and we can still hear each part! Hats off to the recordist, mixer and videographer too. Well done. :)
Wow this takes me back to the old days of fusion, it has that quality of exploration and creativity that sparked around the late 70s and 80s. When so much was unexplored. Matteo’s restraint during certain passages lifts the whole song with melody and focus, bypassing the meandering that is so tempting when having such a command of his instrument. This is artistry, maybe borrowed from earlier generations, but holding its own in composition and player ability. Congrats on creating something new and yet classic!
In a tsunami of lazy, "non-music" music (most of it really bad, offensive poetry set to drum beat that took 37 seconds to write) it's so refreshing and fantastic to hear real craft and passion from this generation. Thanks Matteo and band!!! Pre-ordering now...
Complimenti ❤

I've not been so excited about guitar playing since I saw The Mahavishnu in 72, the Return to Forever in 73, then IOU around the same time. They are all guitar heroes: John McLaughlin, Al Di Meola and Alan Holdsworth. You have now made my Four Horsemen complete. I, as a keyboard player of jazz and fusion have someone entirely new to enjoy. A trillion thank you's. Come to England soon. I'll be there.
It’s unnatural the way you get sustain and pick harmonics playing how you do. Amazingly talented and I just love this power trio you all are exceptional musicians.
All of Matteo’s videos bring joy to the viewer. It’s not just the musical mastery, it’s the fun they are having. You can tell they love the beauty they are creating.
It's hard to accept that a boy, Italian and Sicilian can compete and beat the sacred monsters of the guitar. Let's forget the fact that I played without a pick and let's forget the fact that it comes from a classical guitar experience. The point is that Matteo dispelled many and disparate convictions both on the methods of writing and on the techniques acquired up to now. It's a given that you have to accept and it's fantastic. There are still some imbeciles who persist in saying that Matteo only makes covers! And even if he were like that, but he's not, have you heard these damn covers? You've heard what level of arrangement they possess that even mortify the songwriters themselves. In short, everything is allowed, envy, arrogance, indifference, but the true reality is that Matteo, the young Italian, is the contemporary genius of the guitar. I know that many people find it difficult to swallow this concept, but you have to deal with it and bow down, everyone, but everyone, from adults to children. The current scenario is this: "in front of his performances there are two fundamental reactions, namely that of joy and that of frustration", and the second is the most dangerous because the judgment on Matteo becomes false and conditioned. Joy should be the only plausible reaction, for the fact that a genius was born who changed the way of thinking, playing and imagining something that until now was taken for granted and consolidated. Even if he had been born on an isolated island in an ocean, the genius, the real one, would have jumped out anyway.

Matteo and the whole band sound polished and tight, I love this tune. Does anybody else hear some Pat Metheny influence in parts of this?
