What I find amazing is 30 years ago a guitarist with this level of skill would be on stage in front of millions and celebrated like a god. 2024 he is in his bedroom in shorts playing to TH-cam.

After my GOAT guitarist Jeff Beck passed away I was sooooo depressed. Then one day I saw Matteo Mancuso on You Tube perform. The gray cloud of depression was lifted. Thank you Matteo. You have no idea how much your music has inspired me to smile again.
I was left longing since Stevie Ray left us. Matteo woke up my love of tasty licks a couple years ago and he's stayed near the top of my YT favorites. Just love this young man's ingenuity.
I'm 62 and have seen and loved all the guitar and band greats. The bar has been raised again with Matteo. Holdsworth, Metheny, Gambale, Beck, Vai, Halen and more rolled into one. The drums and bass impressive/solid. Progressive Jazz Fusion Power Rock Trio? Great stuff.

🎸Paul Position is absolutely amazing. I was blown away by Matteo's fluent fingerpicking once again, especially the solo part. It gave me goosebumps. I could feel the respect for Paul Gilbert too, which was really touching. 🤩I'm looking forward to the next album. Although I almost never go to concerts I have been lucky enough to see both Matteo Mancuso and Paul Gilbert live: I won't explain that they sound wonderfully good, everyone knows it. I will simply underline that they are two pleasant, smiling people, with a friendly approach, full of inventiveness, who dialogue with the other musicians with every note, who show no trace of stardom and who involve the audience with the strength of their music. I'm also very curious about the guitar: what sound will the young but immense Matteo produce from it?
I've been lucky enough to see both Paul and Matteo live, and meet them and hang out with them at guitar camps. Not only are they legendary musicians, they are super nice in person! I've got to jam with Paul on stage three times in his "Massive jams" where he trades licks with 150-200 guitar players in a row, which lasts for hours and hours. I wish I could have jammed with Matteo. Someday maybe...it would be my dream come true.
In my youth I was fortunate to witness Paul's tribute with Y.R.O. 40 years later I realize this isn't full circle, but an evolving thread that one should hope lasts well beyond their lifetime - as I'm sure Bach could never have imagined Yngwie some 300 years later. And there is no more worthy guitarist to carry this tradition than Matteo. Amazing as always!
This kid gives me goose bumps. I can’t name another of the new youngsters that does so much across the musical spectrum. And with such knowledge and conviction. A+
I can never decide weather to watch Matteo's face or his hands during a video, both are amazing! He purposley makes the guitar playing look so smooth and effortless, even though it's not so easy to do. When you watch his face you can see the creative process as he moves through a song, and how there's little to know resistance between what he's thinking and what his hands are doing.

Give him time to grow compositionally, he’ll be as famous as he wants to. The popularity you describe is a real bear to sustain. It’s a machine with many, many parts. It takes time to build and a ton of work to maintain. I feel like his composition is really moving in the right direction. Who knows where he’ll go?

I don’t play guitar (piano and keyboards for 45 years) but I love the phrasing and the way Matteo builds his solos. Holdsworth and Metheny are my two fave guitar players and I can add Matteo now.

Qualche passaggio velocissimo come lui sa fare, poi gustarsi lo sviluppo del pezzo con notte un poco più lunghe (ma solo un po') e godere letteralmente la melodia. Pezzo veramente notevole , mi stupisce sempre più il suono e la precisione e pulizia dell'esecuzione. Come struttura il brano mi ricorda Glasgow kiss di Petrucci.Complimenti!!!!

I've been listening to music for about 50 years; been playing guitar since I was 13.. and I have to place Matteo in world's best guitarists at position 4,, behind Hendrix, Page, Van Halen (IMHO) ... he will probably attain No. 1 or 2 best in history , but he has a few more years ahead of him to earn that ranking. He's simply a genius, and the best performing guitarist in the world today. Congrats to him and his dad !!! Just wonderful talent and music !!! 💖
@@holland736 Music evaluation is opinionated. Personally IMO Jeff Beck is the GOAT. The 3 guitarists he referenced are legendary icons, there is no denying that.
For my ears, Matteo always comes with something interesting, melody, outside, rhythm, sometimes all of them. Doesn't feel like common shredding... he and his mates bring MUSIC and I can hear influences of the best styles and players, easily trespassing guitar and Rock sounds. Very organic and amazing, exciting all the time! It reminds of Mclaughlin, Holdsworth, Scott Henderson, Gambale, Govan and others!
Melodic, shreddy, hot and tight AF! Matteo is a freaking animal, but the other guys are also so ahead of the game! The future of guitar is firmly secured now and I am so eager to hear what's comming next!

I've been playing guitar for 12 years. Always look around to see the evolution of the instrument. I thought Holdsworth touched the limit of guitar playing.Then there's this young guy who goes beyond everything. Still can't believe he's this good.
Who cares about video quality when you can enjoy the way a brilliant guitar player is able to make music like this? No drowning in virituosity, but instead using it to create something which is wonderful to listen to.

I've been listening to music for about 50 years; been playing guitar since I was 13.. and I have to place Matteo in world's best guitarists at position 4,, behind Hendrix, Page, Van Halen (IMHO) ... he will probably attain No. 1 or 2 best in history , but he has a few more years ahead of him to earn that ranking. He's simply a genius, and the best performing guitarist in the world today. Congrats to him and his dad !!! Just wonderful talent and music !!! 💖

@@holland736 Music evaluation is opinionated. Personally IMO Jeff Beck is the GOAT. The 3 guitarists he referenced are legendary icons, there is no denying that.

For my ears, Matteo always comes with something interesting, melody, outside, rhythm, sometimes all of them.
Doesn't feel like common shredding... he and his mates bring MUSIC and I can hear influences of the best styles and players, easily trespassing guitar and Rock sounds. Very organic and amazing, exciting all the time!
It reminds of Mclaughlin, Holdsworth, Scott Henderson, Gambale, Govan and others!

I've been playing guitar for 12 years. Always look around to see the evolution of the instrument. I thought Holdsworth touched the limit of guitar playing.Then there's this young guy who goes beyond everything. Still can't believe he's this good.
