I've been making pickled peppers like this but with fermented garlic honey as the sugar source ever since I saw your video a couple years ago. Always in my fridge now and my coworkers are always asking for them. Thanks to Brad for cooking the way I like and just being great!
@@derek9087 certainly if you can them they’d last longer and making more in smaller containers would mean less of the overall batch would be open and exposed to air at any given time. So, yes, I think that’s the way to go if you’re looking for longevity of the product.
@@stephencupp7587 usually only a few tablespoons of salt and 1/4 cup or less of the honey in 1:1 water to vinegar. I’ll use more vinegar if I want it to last longer but it’s usually a pretty quick pickle that gets better over a couple days to weeks in the fridge.
Agree with the double boiler… I believe kiwi birds are always looking down because they are always looking for food. They have nostrils at the end of their beaks that allow them to sense their prey underground (as well as many other interesting characteristics like being flightless)
about to get sappy but my dad died a few months ago and watching this video, it’s the first time since that i have truly laughed and have felt happy! i’m so thankful for brad
i dooo have to say i miss seeing claire and brad figure stuff out together. they were a hilarious coworker duo. thankful brad is still making its alive!
Almost halfway in we get to the first ingredient. Reminds me of when you look up recipes online and there's a full blown article before you even get to the recipe.
I think that saucepan is really a double boiler that sits on top of the other saucepan in the back rack. That's why it has the flared bottom. Either way, Brad should start his own channel.
The best way I have found to remove that membrane or separator is scraping it out with a spoon and that very thin bottomed sauce pan is not a sauce pan its the top part of a double boiler evidence of the weird rim on the bottom and why the base is so thin
6:54 Xmas in a Jar (sorta) splash sherry vinegar, oregano, pink peppercorn, 1 bottle of rice vinegar and a little the bit water and splash of maple 🍁 syrup.
you and your team are so excellent, you carry these guys. i have looked through all the rest of them there is one who is kind of ok but basically it's all you bro
Pouring some of the vinegar into a jar before removing the flow restrictor thingy on the vinegar before pouring the entire bottle into a jar before pouring the entire jar into the pot really adds depth of flavor.
For the longest time, I yearned for the name Vinny. I thought it would make these so much more immersive. After that first “alright kev?” I knew. It is so much more immersive.
I love these pickling videos. You’ve mentioned an appreciation for deer hunting. Pickled venison was something I knew growing up, but nobody seems to know a grandma’s old recipe. Any chance you’ve tried it?
That pot is a boiling pot. You insert it into another pot. That is what the lower lip at the bottom is for. It seals the pot inside the larger pot. You put water in the lower pot and it heats up that pot without searing.
Brad is literally the only reason I subbed to this channel. Wish he just started his own channel. Love his stuff.
he has mentioned somewhere before he doesn't want to do that as he is not very tech savvy
Agreed. A channel with him and hunzy would be the best!
What happened to Vinchinzo? Did he leave the same time as everyone else?
@@MoKiShea He's at Binging with Babish now
@@jgrill110 Is he helping out with that Claire show too?
He used garlic without mentioning allicin! Brad, say wourder twice if you need help!
AND HE JUST SLICED THE GARLIC !
Brad has been replaced by a Doppelgänger
There's only one explanation
DELANEY!
I like how brad smiled and posed with the pickles like it’s show and tell at school.

I am absolutely here for Brad dragging the daylights out of the cooking set.
It looks so small
Brad is practically my internet uncle at this point.
Basically a shot of NJ that I need to stay sane after moving to the south.
No, I am. Call your mother some time, she loves you.
The little “honk” when he pressed the bread down had me cacklin’

God knows BA needs more hosts to exploit and not pay

could they last a long time if you used smaller cans? i would like to make a lot in 1 go
how much salt?

Brad is the onlyyy reason I keep coming back to BA. He should move on his own asap, go back to Vinnie and friends *.*
brad Vincenzo matty and babish. . . can you imagine!
I think they have him locked into a pretty aggressive contract.
Brad is such a lovely combination of cooking, ADHD and a golden retriever! Gotta love him!
His "careless" and "jokester" teaching style made it so I was less anxious and more confident when trying to pickle/ferment foods.
Nobody cares!
@@ItzzTesta hey get those bad vibes outta here right now bud
I feel like Brad has more fun being out in the woods or at his own house lol
Well ya duh
Isn’t that everyone?
@@mziskin He seemed pretty happy in the older test kitchen videos, idk
@@johnprior3746 I think he liked the human energy. This, here, is not lighting his fire.
Best thing is when he says he’s going to make a “sammich”
i'd step out into traffic for a brad sammich right now tbh
It's a kiwi brad. I look forward to more Keanu co-host content.
Yea man! And they have their heads down foraging for bugs in the soil. So let him be!! 😆🤙
It's what we New Zealanders turn into before we die.
I love the fragment of concern when he asks 'Are they always sad?'
Imagine an episode with Keanu AND the return of Garla.
Found it
I would totally watch Brad telling his stories.
Brad is keeping the channel alive, but yet give him the worst kitchen with the worst tools.
Seriously
@1 2 I don't think this is his house, looks like a new set
@@corzahazard444 it's a rented apartment turned into a studio/kitchen.
Its meant to be homely.
To be fair that pan isn't for that, it's the top pan of a double boiler.
Honestly, the best outcome of NJ going recreational is the *incredible* Brad content we get out of it
The pot looks like the top half of a shallow double boiler.
Also, kiwis almost always seem to be looking down. Maybe they’re sad they can’t fly.
maybe they are sad because they have to share name with hairy green balls
good call
I agree that it looks like the top half of a double boiler and the matching pot looks likes in on the shelf to the left behind him.
It's definitely the top of a double boiler, it's thin on purpose and that weird ridge in the side is meant to fit the lip of the pot below it.
Agree with the double boiler… I believe kiwi birds are always looking down because they are always looking for food. They have nostrils at the end of their beaks that allow them to sense their prey underground (as well as many other interesting characteristics like being flightless)
Hey Brad, you should do an episode on mead.
I feel like that episode would make less sense than when he's sober!
that would be interesting for sure
"Bury it in the ground" bit had me dying 💀🪦

I'm so sorry for your loss..
Ya know, brad whenever I’m feeling anxious I watch your videos and they just calm me down and get me back to regular. Thanks for everything bud.
The editor and animator deserve just as much acclaim as Brad. Great stuff!
Poor pronunciator Brad proudly presents a pair of prim pots properly packed with pickled peppers.

Brad thinks for a minute about kiwi birds. “…Are they ALWAYS sad??”
Everything’s a story is why we watch you, Brad. That and the beautiful editing haha
I missed you, Brad. You bring me pure joy with every video. Thank you!
Brad is a good guy for trying to lift up the kiwis birds head.
As a linguist, I laughed just a bit too much at: BRAD LEONE, LINGUIST
Sometimes, the algorithm is a blessing. You only click on brads videos, you'll see every new video on your timeline.
Looking at the rim near the bottom of the saucepan it might be designed to be used in a double boiler setup. This would also explain the thin bottom.
I love how everything brad makes revolves around sandwich condiments
Points accrued for accessibility
Please get Zach Galifianakis on taste buds now.
Zach Galifinackinus.
I bet if Brad and Zach gala-fish-nakis put out some kitchen content together it would be comedy gold. Great energy.
Brad is the guy everyone calls to smoke with. 💨☺️
ahhh the only reason i watch bon appers anymore... my god, imagine the YT channel of brad, claire, andy and the crew, id be there in a second
I was Rollling this whole episode 😂😂😂
I can't even tell you how much I have missed old school "It's Alive!" Episodes. I rewatched ALL of them during quarantine lol.
Loved this! Hunzi's editing and Brad's chaotic energy are truly the best combo on the internet. 😂
Is this Hunzi though? I thought it was just someone trying to imitate his style.
My dad also has a Taurus moon, and the way they talk about food like they’re taking care of it is so cute
I'm not gonna lie I watch his videos almost daily it's such a comfort show for me
Almost halfway in we get to the first ingredient. Reminds me of when you look up recipes online and there's a full blown article before you even get to the recipe.
Exactly. Seems like all recipe places are like that now. Gotta read their whole life story first.
I've started growing Fresno's in my garden now because of Brad. I can't find them in any market near me so I'm excited to try them this season!

Brad yelling at the kiwi bird was one of the best moments 😂
That pan looks like the top pan for a "bain marie" which would explain why the bottom is so thin.
Yes! I half expected him to reveal it was perforated bc it looked like the top of a steamer set. 😆
Kiwi bird is now my favorite anime character.
