    pretty cool my dude. I was worrying about the transponder being too far back and the car won't start cause it cannot read the transponder. I'll do it once my key breaks. 🤣🤣🤣 Others suggested that if the car won't start, you might want to relocate the transponder inside the chip (the part you move from old key to new one, open it up and de-solder it and attach 2 thin wires to extend it outside next to the metal key). This put things into perspective that it can be done without the hassle of relocating the transponder. Cool video!

      Hope it helps and explains that you don't really need to move the transponder around to make it to work. Just order the new key fob shell and switch to the new one... The hassle is to modify the original metal key. But if you are comfortable with tools and files, it shouldn't be a problem. take your time and in no time you have a brand new flip key. :-)

      @@lavithhcm cool cool. Even if it gives problem later on with the transponder, i'm well prepared with desoldering and moving it as well. Just happy that I don't have to once i decide to do it. Have a blessed day my brother. Much appreciated 👍

      @@mecpello787 hey buddy, I didn't do the modification. I was commenting in case my fob case is broken and i would know which case to avoid buying. In your case, have you try putting the old key with its transponder chip close to the ignition? Or try taping the transponder chip outside of the case in a closest position to the ignition?

    The cutting of your key is fine. What it is is that your new key may be too thick all around. You might try and check the diameter all around first. I did this key mod about 10 years ago for my 2010 Honda Accord Exl V6.

    Do you know if there are any protective covers for these aftermarket keys? I bought one of these flip keys shells and haven’t found silicone covers or related.

      @lavithhcm  ปีที่แล้ว

      you can ask the seller see what they say. I have not seen any silicone cover for these key shells either. Maybe i wasnt looking hard enough for it.

    My car won't start after that probably because the transponder or chip" far away but idk how fix it

    • @lavithhcm
      @lavithhcm  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      for transponder you would probably open up the key fob and move the transponder outside the key fob to get closer. But as you can see I didn't even have to do anything to the original key fob. I just replace the shell outside. Best of luck and let me know how it works out for you.

    I had the same issue, key is too thick. I had a locksmith do it but now the chip doesn't read the key. I'm stuck

    • @lavithhcm
      @lavithhcm  4 วันที่ผ่านมา

      if you still have the original fob without any modification to it, it should perfectly work with this housing.... The problem is you need to fully insert original key inside the key starter for it to read the chip with this housing. I recommend rewatching this video where I mark the line where the original key meet the plastic. This is the line where I can only insert that much into the new housing. If you insert all the way, you effectively shorten your key. Thus, not fully insert into key hole starter!. hope that explains why your key chip doesn't work!

    • @Grinchsmilez1214
      @Grinchsmilez1214 10 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      @lavithhcm so do I have to re cut the key and make it shorter, sounds dumb lol but I inserted the key fully and still won't read chip. I'm going to re watch video. Thank you for responding

      @Grinchsmilez1214 9 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@lavithhcmYou cut the original key that's why, I had the key that's on the flip fob cut already and it fits into the ignition. The original is shorter so I might just cut original key

      @@Grinchsmilez1214 all i can say "good luck" ❗️ take your time watching and re-watching the video to fully understand what i did to the original key. Once, you file/mod your original key, you cannot go back.
