  • A few details on how I changed out my prestolite ignition guts for a Pertronix igntion coupled with a Pertronix performance coil. Set up on my 1978 Scout II.

    It is way easier if you pull the distributor. Just mark the rotor position before you pull it and you can get it right back in the exact same position.

      It would have been, but a number of factors played into this video, one being able to show that you COULD do it without removing the distributor for those who were nervous about doing so.

      @@arnoldmendez710 I understand. Just trying to help others understand they shouldn't be scared of pulling the dizzy either. I am tying to get my rebuild fired up right now and just trying to get the initial timing set so it will run without backfiring. The good news is my Pertronix is working because I have fire.

      If you mark where your distributor time is, you can just loosen it to rotate the dizzy to fit a regular screwdriver
