    Hi Sam,
Thanks for the mention and indirect "plug." It's funny how you described reading my stuff against Bishop James White. :-) I just answered him point-by-point again today regarding sola Scriptura: my latest blog post. And of course he will utterly ignore it, as he has everything of mine (refuting him) for some dozen years now.

Had conversation with a protestant, mariolatory and icons were raised. To animate the discussion, I raised the iconoclasm dispute, brought in Nicaea II and John of Damascus. Four intentional mistakes were made in the hope he reads up and pointed them out. He did nothing, except prooftexting protestant objections.
I was willing to concede if he challenged those mistakes. Happy to lose the battle to win the war. Thomas Aquinas was right about futility in the face of unbelief. That even, Sam just proved me wrong. I guess it's all about green fingers and seeds.
Thanks, Sam, history may remember you for the reunification of His Church. Godbless!

God bless you Sam and may the prayers of the Holy mother protect you,in her own words from John 2:5
5 His mother said to the servants, “Do whatever he tells you.” Telling the world to listen and obey her Son. I’m from the Assyrian church of the east. Coming from the Assyrian church of the east I’ve never denied Christ as the living God and never been taught other wise. The father, Son and Holy Spirit are three in one.

Dear Sam, I caught your video in which you discuss your discovery of the Holy Rosary. I'm a Dominican Friar and priest. According to my Order’s tradition, it was to the founder of our order, St. Dominic de Guzman, that the Mother of God revealed in a vision the use of the Holy Rosary as a weapon of prayer and evangelization, about the year 1208.
Rosary prayer revolves around the confrontation of Christ's Mother with the will of God for her in the Annunciation and the Visitation. The original form of the Hail Mary was completely based in Scripture: “Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with you (Luke 1:28)/ Blessed are you among women and blessed is the fruit of your womb, Jesus. (Luke 1:42)” The second part of it (“Holy Mary, mother of God, etc.”) became part of the Hail Mary, also called “the Angelic Salutation”, in the 1500s.
This prayer commemorates focuses on that amazing moment when the Mother of Christ and of Christians was faced specifically with God's will for her, and, in which she, unlike Eve before her, embraced a life of obedience to God's will from moment to moment, constantly pondering the wonderful things that were revealed to her in a life lived in intimate union with Jesus, - first as Mother and then as his best disciple. We who are Christians celebrate her privilege, but also see in her life a pattern that every Christian is called to live in some way or another: imitating her Son’s life of humble service of His Father’s will in the power of the Holy Spirit, and moving step by step, grace by grace, with Jesus towards the new Jerusalem of glory. I think the Rosary is a wonderful school for prayer and intimacy with God. I always recommend that people pray before the Lord with the Bible in one hand and the Rosary in the other. I'm glad that you are growing in love for this prayer, which Catholics sometimes call, “the Gospel prayed.”
Dear Brother in Christ, keep up the good work! Especially in your work with Muslims, you bring to bear a set of talents that very few people have, and the familiarity with their sources that is absolutely essential for the apologetical and evangelical work that you do. I will keep you before the heart of Jesus in my own prayers and, if you don't mind, please remember me in yours.

You said it all. Our blessed mother accepted her role and walked the walk with love and obedience. She was Fiat and Fiat with a mother’s heart. Just by that fact alone, she suffered along with her son. As a mother myself, I know the assignment of a mothers heart, and in our lady’s case, her heart is entwined with her sons heart and his sacrifice and love for us. It has to be inseparable.

I'm still trying to find my way and have gone astray God knows how many times.
I don't get how some people will use your development and maturation as a person and turn it into an attack against you, as if you're now bandwagon jumping to a different sports team. This is not a sport, this is ultimately about saving one's soul; human opinions are infinitely less important in this regard. Everyone is impressionable at a young age, but we (Lord willing) mature into a more serious faith. This is something that takes time, reflection, research, open-mindedness, soul-searching and above all humility to admit that you were wrong about some things. Those are increasingly rare qualities.

1:35:00 This is hilarious to me. It's definitely true. I was looking for reasons to hold onto my Protestantism and have been for a while now. Naturally, in an effort to get some reasoned answers about why reformation is the correct choice and to feed my bias, I immediately go to Dr. James White to listen to his criticism on Eastern Orthodoxy. Hearing him say "these people are trapped in 700AD" inspired me to dig heavily into the church fathers. He meant it as a sleight but he was not wrong, but that is where the church *should* be. "Reformation" should be bringing us closer to Jesus and the sacraments, not farther away. I'm happy to return to my orthodox roots.

If Sam is still reading comments, you and I argued on Facebook 2+ years ago over your anti-Catholic stance. If I'm being honest, it was an attack which was very unfounded and unjust, to the point I realized there must have been some personal issues in your life going on (which were later confirmed). It appears that by the Grace of God the "uneasy currents" of the river of life have been calmed and your eyes opened to the reality of biblical, Apostolic Christianity, which is a blessing for all of us. As someone who was raised in both the Catholic and (Oriental) Orthodox traditions, I can honestly say that EITHER will give you what you need for salvation. As I recently learned you are also Assyrian, I would say that BOTH the Assyrian Catholic church AND the Assyrian Church of the East will give you what you need for your salvation. I forgive you for what was said in the heat of a moment, and wish you all the success in your faith journey as well as harmony with your family and personal life.

I am probably what you would refer to as a "High Calvinist". I am a member of the Orthodox Presbyterian Church and hold to reformed doctrine. I would be very interested to talk to you from a Scriptural point of view on the subject of reformed doctrine and also to share my testimony, first how I began following Christ and also how I became a staunch Presbyterian/Calvinist. A side note that may be interesting to you- the pastor that converted to Islam, who you then helped lead back to Christianity (Brad), was actually how I found your channel, because he was sharing with me a little bit about his journey to Islam and then back to Christ. I'll let you know that I am not much of a debater, but I would be happy to discuss our opposing views some time, either publicly or privately, mostly because I do hold anti-Roman Catholic views (in regards to the papacy, baptism and the Lord's Supper), and am interested to discuss it with someone who seems to have such a high view of the Triune God. Based on from what I heard you saying during your conversation with Brad, you seem to have a really good grasp of the Scriptures, especially as they relate to Christ in the Old Testament. I have no reason not to think that you are my brother in Christ, so know that I approach you in a spirit of peace and humility. Grace to you.

God bless you Sam. I only just discovered your content but I am a convert to Catholicism.
From my own research into the schism between West and East I came away with the takeaway that many of the cited escalations and disputes were unconvincing in that they merited a cleavage in the Apostolic Church and I later came to the conclusion looking more into the history and context that it was more informed by temporal or political matters.
That said, and I'm sure you already know this, but since then many of the Eastern Churches have come back into full communion with Rome so that we now have the Latin Rite, Byzantine Rite, Alexandrian, Syriac, Maronite and Chaldean Rites. As well as the Anglican Ordinariate.
On many of your or Christian Princes videos I see a torrent of comments left by Protestants whenever Catholicism is mentioned attacking the Church and it pains me tbh. Even when you or others are trying to defend mere christianity against Islam, they can't find common cause and set aside their disdain for even 10 minute videos.
I pray that God works in all of us to take out the mote from our eyes that we might knit back together that great Christendom that once moved Earth and Heaven so that we might repel the Mohammedans and liberate our Christian brothers and sisters held hostage in their own homelands.

Why are you so confused about the Eucharist that if it is the actual flesh and blood of Jesus Christ? Didn't you know that Jesus said to take it in remembrance of Him? If it is for remembrance, how then does Jesus need to be broken and bled to atone us again and again? Hebrews 6:4-6 say that those who need to crucify Jesus Christ again and again are those who grieved the Holy Spirit and abandoned the faith. Didn't scripture say Jesus Christ was sacrificed once and for all? Catholicism teaches that in the Eucharist, Jesus Christ is broken and bled on the cross again and again during the mass. Do you think the devil is the one who would love to see Jesus Christ die again and again because he has not conceded defeat.
Why are you so caught up in such confusion?

Every Protestant interprets the BIble how they want. THey have nothing in common with the first Christians because the first Christians had no Bible. The first Christians relied on their Bishops for guidance.

The idolatry in Catholic Church is insane. Everywhere u turn they bow down and pray to Mary or others. How is that biblical?? I’m ex Catholic.

Veneration isn't idolatry. Intercession isn't praying to Mary as if she is God, worship as taught in the Catechism is reserved for God. Read what they actually believe in as defined in the Catechism, read the Catholic Bible (which was changed by Protestants historically as they eliminated the deuterocanonical texts-the apocrypha) I am doing this now as I grew up anti-Catholic Protestant and am doing my due diligence now. God bless.

@@piouspapistif you believe Mary is God that is more than veneration. Our god is a trinitarian God. There is not 4 persons in the Godhead. This is clear idolatry. Also Mary isn’t a perpetual virgin. Mark 6:3 says Jesus had four brothers (and two sisters): While you are researching, read Hebrews chapter 7-10. That will clear things up for you on the papacy and priesthood. Church history will never be as important as Gods word.

This is my opinion : There is a different between the prayers of the saints that is own to them and we praying to the saints.
In my opinion praying to the saint means making them our God. And even if it is biblical to pray to the saints then that means apart from Mary, then we ought to pray to the other saints as well not only Mary. Then there shouldn't be only one saint specifically (MARY)to pray to, or there shouldn't be one Mary status to adore, there should be that of the other saints status as well.
There was one disciple in the bible his father died and he told JESUS please let me go and bury my father then Jesus replied to him follow me and let the dead bury their own dead.
In my understanding of how i understand the bible we are not to pray to angels, or to the spirit of the dead, or to any saints or anything a part from GOD almighty , through the father, the son and the holy spirit.
But as we are still all not perfect we pray that the holy spirit should always guide us to all truth in and be our best teacher leading us toward all truth and revelation of the gospel in Jesus mighty name. AMEN.

If Mary could hear you, she'd be scolding you for praying to and worshipping her.
