I was born into a strict protestant family in the early 60s. I wish I had a dollar for every time some " preacher" told us that it was the " upside down broken cross." Sometimes it was " Neros cross." Back then, fact checking wasn't as easy as it is today. And they relied onthat! You would have had to go to a library, and hope they had a book on your research topic. Yet even in this information age, people rely on unreliable sources without fact checking.
Life on earth is full of change, as I heard once "everything has an end date" - only God and the Church are constant and our refuge from this valley of tears.
Thank you, God, for Fr. Cristino and for the young priests of America. Fr. Cristino clearly knows what our faith is all about and his thoughts are very clear and inspiring. May God send us many priests of his kind. His is the voice we need in these confusing times. Praise be to God!
This was excellent! I gain more respect for Fr. Cristino everytime I listen to him. He's in my prayers for priests, by name, daily. 🙏🤲🙏 Thank you to both of you!
Lord, I pray that you would bless my children. Watch over them and keep them safe. Lord give me strength as I struggle to support my sons. As a single mom I’ve been overwhelmed trying to pay all the bills on my own. so where there is lack, Father, I pray that you bring abundance. I pray that my children would grow up to know and love you. Be with them as I raise them each day to be God-fearing lovers of Christ. Give me wisdom and patience as I continue to struggle to provide for my sons.💕
Just wondering.....Why do I find your comment - always the same words - on whatever Christian channel ? What is your genuine interest? What are you really looking for?
Thank you. Very good interview. May many more young men and women be encouraged to join the priesthood and religious life and keep the true faith going.
Thank you Fr Christino and Ken for a very interesting discussion on why Priests in America recently ordained are choosing an conservative or traditional approach for their ministry. God Bless You.
This is definitely true.I grew up in Staten Island,NY and while the Archdiocese of New York was happily never cursed with horrific bishops like San Francisco,Detroit,Chicago,Albany NY and Rochester NY we here in Staten Island had quite a few liberal priests.Over the past 10 years I have seen a change brought about by young priests assigned to parishes.Latin is making a comeback slowly,Traditional vestments and biretta s are coming back. Many women are veiling at mass again.Eucharistic adoration has been quite popular for over 25 years now.Liturgy abuses are slowly disappearing. That being said I support reforms in the Novus Ordo which I am sure will eventually come.Eucharistic ministers need to go.Altar girls need to go.The mass should not be totally in the vernacular. The Vatican Council never anticipated that. The Canon of theMass should be in Latin as should the Sanctus,Gloria and Agnus Dei at ever mass.
NovusOrdo RCC trad priests have to accept and comply with the heterodox Fiducia Suplicans and Amoris Latetia edicts and other heterodox agendas of the Vatican.
@@sophiachavez3377 Cardinal Dolan is a moderate.Hardly a traditionalist. He has almost no interest in liturgy but the Mass in St Patrick’s is offered with reverence.Cardinal Dolan has not enforced Francis’ restrictions on the Tridentine Mass.It is pretty much a don’t ask don’t tell situation in NYC.
Priests should wear the cassock more often. It is a sacramental and it makes a statement to the world that is needed. I belong to a TLM parish for over 4 years and this is one thing I appreciate so much among many things about the TLM, that the priests always wear this sacramental.

We need to begin changing this as individuals, and my tiny part in this is reading my bible and praying the rosary openly when on public transport.
This was highly relevant. I try watch every episode or teaching video of Father Cristiano. As a new convert out of Protestant seminary and former ministry and INTO Roman Catholic Church I agree that we are looking fir a safe, secure, unchanging place of beauty, tradition and liturgy on which to land. My son, 24 yrs old, is converting to Eastern Orthodoxy for like reasons. Thank you for this... It was wonderfully on point.
Man, I really like Father Cristino's clarity - on the other video I watched he really holds the interviewer to task on his logic to make sure he didn't go further than was possible based upon the evidence (nothing against the interviewer, just a shout out to Father)
The longer Father speaks, the more his brilliance and Light of Christ shine through!! Every congregation should have access to this video instead of watching inappropriate Disney movies for parish activity nights
I certainly have noticed that the younger priests that I know are much more faithful to Christ and his church. This is very good for the future of the Church. I don’t mean this political sense, although this may be true. They are simply more faithful. And this very good.
Stellar video. As someone who entered the Church last Easter Vigil, I completely agree and have been blessed to have an OCIA class that was quite young as well.
As a convert, one of the things I love about the Catholic church is the historical stability in the truths taught by Christ and His apostles. As of late I feel on edge that what I love about the church in her unwillingness to follow societal shifts, appears to be at risk.
There is no need nor desire for the Roman Catholic Church to follow social 'norms' or society, in general. Remember, many are called but few are chosen.

It is normal that a young new generation might react against the older generation. It is easy to understand how a seminarian might look around at some priests and say to himself, "I don't want to ever be like that."
I prefer the term orthodox. The danger of labelling oneself conservative is that it grips too hard to the past instead of a balanced perspective of honouring the past and looking to the future where God is guiding us and in ways that might challenge us. Bless all priests and let us storm Heaven for more vocations. May they receive solid formation and be faithful to the Holy Father and the Magisterium.

Doesn't Jesus say 'come to me you who are weary and heavy burdened? Take my yoke and I will give you rest. (peace of mind and soul) I really appreciate what Father said that the young men are turning to a stable, tried and true Church after having been' tossed in the wind' all their lives. This is so good to take into our souls. Thank you Father.
As a parishioner of the Catholic church, I have more respect to priest who wear their identity as opposed to priest who dress just like one of us like most priests these days! It's very sad😢
It would be interesting to learn how Father Cristino feels about Vatican Council hosted by Pope John XXIII? Was this an opportunity to progress from a judgemental Church to a Church dedicated to follow Jesus' commitment to love and understanding our weakness.
As for someone who was in middle of the trenches of formation in the 1990s at CUA and Washington Theological Union/ Oblate College and Dominican house. Progressivism was normal under the guise of Vatican II. As one that was deemed “rigid, conservative and othodoxy”. What was and is still now I still see-those who like that very label in public (cassocks with fringed sashes, lace albs, fiddle back chasubles with crossed stoles and maniples). As was then and still in 2024, these very guys will be on specific apps and bars looks for “friends”. I was at JPII canonization and a coworker and his partner invited me for dinner in a particular neighborhood of Rome and I found so many guys I had seen in St. Peter’s there “making friends”. How did u know who they were? U May ask? Well I had been the day before at both Santa Cruce university to attend a symposium and that evening was at North American College and these guys were performing or serving the meals. Spain and Italy have this same situation. Orthodoxy is not only while ur wearing ur cassock it’s a 24 hour lifestyle.
Theologically conservative, orthodox? What's the alternative? What is missing? OK, bring back the Tridentine Mass and watch those new seminarians bloom in The Lord. 🎼🎶Give me that old-time religion🎶.
Thank you Ken and Father for addressing this current concern in The Church. I pray daily “I am praying for my Bishop, Pope Francis and the Clergy to listen to the Holy Spirit and reject “modernists” who are changing the Teachings of Jesus Christ and His Church” 🙏🏻🕊✝️🕊🙏🏻
What is the alternative ?? Having a clergy that reflects the whole spectrum of the faithfuls. Liberal, conservative, or anything, as long as it stays within the border of orthodoxy.
That is God’s calling. Even me I want to wear veil in the mass not knowing lots of Catholic women now wear veil also. And not only the veil but I want tradition. ❤❤
How fabulous ....... 50 years in waiting ..... in the growing liturgical desert ...... in the growing philosophical and theological desert ...... finally the generation has been raised up to bring us to fullness. Finally. Folks, it has been a long time in waiting.
Thank God for these young men being actually passionate about right worship. It givea me hope that in the next 50 years or so we can get a traditional pope who will lead the healing of the Church, after it's century long liberalism and modernism-bender
We need Priests, Bishops, Cardinals who would defend, protect and preach the Deposit of Faith. Bishops by virtue of their Office promised to defend the Faith. They are protectors of the Catholic Faith. They must preserve, preserve & protect our Catholic Liturgy, Sacraments and Catholic doctrine. ST. JOSEPH PATRON OF THE CATHOLIC CHURCH, PRAY FOR US. AMEN
the secular world is so full of noise and distraction, and has dispensed with so much of tradition, history, and peacefulness. The young people finding their way to the church or coming back to the church after years away are looking for a respite from everything that is going on outside the church. They want church to be...church. Reverence, solemnity, fidelity. I believe the sort of young men called to the vocations today are seeking the same. They want a church where Christ's sacrifice on the cross is at the forefront, rather than the type of music being played or joke-ridden homilies. This is EXACTLY what the church needs in this moment, I just pray that the Pope sees it as such and fosters this growth instead of stifling it.
Our priest have generally been faithful over the years…..the big danger is clericalism, clergy thinking they know better than laity and lord it over them
They have 7 or 8 years of seminary, we don't. They DO know better. They have the charism of Holy Orders, they are not like laity. But lord it over, no. They must teach the truth in love. We agree in that.
Whoaaaaaa!!! I can't believe this!! This is the same feeling I've had for a year or so!! So many young people at our church want traditional Catholicism.. It's time for a revival..
Great interview! I found my way into the seminary because of the TLM, I have to honestly say that I felt betrayed when months before my priestly ordination TC came out. I hope that our higher ups look at tradition from this angle
When I see a category "conservative/orthodox", my mind goes to one of two places: either the categories include things like "liberal/orthodox" and "conservative/heterodox", or they combined conservative and orthodox together to imply "theologically conservative", which is not a political category at all.

It should be an infrequent occurence that a priest is in public without his cassock.
Priests traditionally only wore the cassock within the parish bounds. Suit with Roman collar outside of the parish

I love this. Priests must wear their cusocks and walk around while on duties.
Priests are always priests and forever. They ought to wear cassocks exclusively, never civilian clothing.
When they recreate they must wear correct sports gear, also when going gardening wear gardening clothes, not cassock....looks ridiculous....
Brilliant Priest
Tradition is the future!
That is God’s calling. Even me I want to wear veil in the mass not knowing lots of Catholic women now wear veil also. And not only the veil but I want tradition. ❤❤
Do it!❤️
Veil, scarf, bandana, hat, it's all good, just cover your head before God (and tied your hair up or ponytail/bun). God bless.
Thank God for tradition
How fabulous ....... 50 years in waiting ..... in the growing liturgical desert ...... in the growing philosophical and theological desert ...... finally the generation has been raised up to bring us to fullness. Finally. Folks, it has been a long time in waiting.
Thank God for these young men being actually passionate about right worship. It givea me hope that in the next 50 years or so we can get a traditional pope who will lead the healing of the Church, after it's century long liberalism and modernism-bender
Tenete Traditiones
God bless.
AMEN
my boy Ken!!!
Excellent talk, thanks for sharing Fr Cristino with us. He’s so truthful and clear on delivering our Catholic faith 🙏✝️
This is good stuff! Raise it high!
Traditions are timeless for a reason
Are they ordained in the old rite?
the secular world is so full of noise and distraction, and has dispensed with so much of tradition, history, and peacefulness.
@@maryharrington8983 I am sure you have many charisma, remember “The Spirit moves where he wills….”
@@laurencenicholasqueano2428 thanks for sharing.
God is stability, our safe place, our secret place, our hiding place.
Sounds like the Holy Spirit is rebuilding the Church, after decades of post-conciliar garbage. 🙏
When I see a category "conservative/orthodox", my mind goes to one of two places: either the categories include things like "liberal/orthodox" and "conservative/heterodox", or they combined conservative and orthodox together to imply "theologically conservative", which is not a political category at all.
Deo gratias per Mariam Virginem Matrem Dei sine macula originali conceptam et Reginam pacis ac amoris et per Vos quoque ❤❤❤
