That is incorrect. What possibility is there that other faiths like Islam lead to our triune God, when they reject Jesus as God? We can say that we have reasonable hope that such and such person is saved when for example they receive the sacrament of extreme unction and confession right before dying. What other religion has such sacraments? Read John 14:6 when Jesus says"I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but by me.

Pope knows well the situation in Asia, and I as a catholic living in Asia, understand fully on what Pope said in the interreligious meeting with young people in Singapore.
I am not sure why "western" people always (or, tend to) say that Pope is confusing.
We as a catholic in Asia are getting stronger in our faith with the Pope visit, and especially with his comment/speech he did in Singapore.
It gives us more strength to bring more people, that is currently in their journey to find God in the "other path", to the TRUE PATH of the fullness of God through His Church.
My brother/sister who think what Pope said is confusing, please try to make a visit to Asia, especially Indonesia, where we as a catholic, living in a majority moslem population.
You will know that to spread the word of God, is not by arguing or speaking out loud "we are true and you are wrong", to people who has different religion.
But do the work, as Jesus says : Sal Terrae Lux Mundi.

    • @FolkloreChronicles1

And haven’t you read your bible??
You are not worthy to be a Christian if u are a coward. You should declare the truth of the word of God with simplicity and courage, there’s no point trying to dilute to please others. The pope is intentional about what he said, and he believe all religions are way to the most high God, which is fallacy, the only way is Jesus, no other alternatives. The road to eternal life is not wide , if it’s wide, it will contain other religions, but it’s narrow, no other alternatives except Jesus.

      @jakartasamurai 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +15

@@FolkloreChronicles1 And...do you think when I quoted "Sal Terrae Lux Mundi", I took that from some comic books or novel?
If you (want to) regard me as a coward and not worthy to be a Christian (Catholic), so be it.
I am a coward that have been living for almost 40 years, in the almost 90 percents of the populations are moslem.
I am the only Catholic when I was at elementary school, then I know some more Catholic students (still less than 20 in total) in the higher education.
When I was a child, I grew up listening to my parent, explaining our faith to our neigbour who sometime come to visit us just for a chit chat.
They're all asking the same question, pointing their finger at the big cross we have hanging in the wall, saying that He is not God, the crucified one was not Jesus but the other person, etc.
I am intentionally quoting "Sal Terrae Lux Mundi", because this is what we do as a Catholic in Asia.
Do you know how its fruit?
Our church always full of people. We could see many people (adult) being baptized in the Easter Mass.
How we (or our priest and parish) could do that?
The secret is, we're not only reading the Bible. We also have Bible study. We read many documents, including papacy document, that are available online in the Vatican site. We go to mass. We pray for Pope and the Church.
I am not going to dig deep into ontological and epistemological perspective of God, EENS, and other stuff.
But I just want to point out, above all, the most important thing is (of course as a coward Catholic), we live our lives with the Bible. Sal Terrae Lux Mundi.
So, I admire you for being brave and a worthy Cristian.
Also for the other "westener" Catholics, who spend their time to bring this issue up since the controversial FS, and made us "united" as a Catholic.
I hope you're also brave enough and ready with its fruit, since now most Catholic TH-camr's "teamed up" with non-Catholic, and also the mainstream media, to boil this topic.
I guess you know well the passage from the Bible that says the phrase "you know the tree by its fruit", do you?
May God Bless you and have a nice weekend.

@FolkloreChronicles1 Jesus said 'be as cunning as serpents and innocent as doves' This speaks to evangelization strategies based on the context and circumstances. I spent 3 years with Mother Teresa's sisters. In Muslim countries, where they could not openly catechize, they preached by example and not word . St. Francis said 'Preach always, use words when necessary'. This is often the beginning of evangelization to some people, who may conclude there is truth here, as they hunger for truth. Then, you may openly catechize.

I say all of this in the hopes that you will see the light and the truth. I didn't know the Truth for 50 years of my life until the Lord came to me on a hike, and I've never been the same. You know the world has a different idea of what truth is, but Jesus, the Son of God, is the truth. What comes from Him is truth, and one day it will be all that matters. I’m not sure if you know, but sins are acts against God the Father of Jesus Christ. This God is your Creator. There are degrees of sin, with killing of another human being as the worst. Just like you probably wouldn’t want to participate in killing of puppies in their mother’s womb, likewise a killing of a human baby is much worse. There are consequences for this sin that might not be obvious at first. In fact, you don't even have to believe in Jesus Christ to be affected by sins against God. One day you will take your last breath, and you will be face to face with Jesus Christ, the Judge of every human being who has ever lived, and you will have to answer for your sins. I strongly encourage you not to vote for a lady who seems to delight and have a passion for abortions. This is not good for you and certainly not good for this country.l

It is frustrating when our expectations of someone in such a position do not live up to what we hope, but that is why Jesus came to us, because we will always fall short. That being said, obviously words carry a lot of weight, and perhaps there was more thoughts unsaid behind what he did say that would better explain his point of view beyond face value. Romans 10:9 - That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. How can a baby confess with their mouth anything?

If a person is invincibly ignorant about the only true religion: Catholicism, but does his best to follow the Natural Law written in his conscience, and corresponds to all the graces God gives to that individual person to get saved, then by baptism of desire that person is incorporated into the Mystical Body of Christ: the Holy Catholic and Apostolc Church, outside of which nobody is saved. Therefore that person is a living but invisible member of the Catholic Church, having the life of grace, which make our good works supernaturally meritorious.

To use the analogy of a relationship between a man and a woman in this instance is probably the worst to use to explain The Popes statement.
The other aspect is that He tripled down on this statement on his return by declaring it a gift from GOD. This in fact indicates it was GOD'S Active Will and not His Passive Will as he previously stated.
There is no excuse for this and I'm praying that The Holy Spirit will correct The Holy Father, that he will retract the statements, and, preach what Jesus taught his Apostles in Revelation.

On face value, Pope Francis is not wrong. Bear in mind, he is the Shepherd of the whole world, and he was speaking with different people of different religions, but nonetheless, also God’s children. He said “different paths”. He didn’t say, all religions will lead to God. There is a difference. Not all paths directly lead us to our destination; there are stop signs and twists and turns. Our goal as Catholics is to lead other people to the one God, the Holy Trinity.
Inter-religious dialog is important and necessary. It is our way to connect, to evangelize our brothers and sisters that are of other religions. When they see us, become friends with us, they will see how the grace of God manifest in us. I think Pope Francis is right and not confusing.

Understand him instead, and suggest. He's many times tackless and careless. He, likes us, should improve. Don't attack. Ask for clarifications. But his other statements show what he truly believes in. Get his entire context like how we should read and interpret God's word.

If ‘All Religions Are Paths to God’ then salvation through Jesus Christ is meaningless. Face it: Pope Francis and many bishops, priests and laity do not believe apostolic teaching and have fallen away from faith as apostle Paul prophesied 2 Thess 2 and and Jesus in Lk 18: 8.
Those who reject the Gospel CANNOT be saved. That is what Jesus warned: " He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned." (Mark 16: 15, 16) St Peter in his first sermon also began by saying, "Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.” (Acts 4: 12) The martyrs died because there is no other way
Our clergy is typical of what Jesus said to the priests of His day when He utterly rebuked and dismissed them saying, “You are wrong, because you know neither the Scriptures nor the power of God." (Mat 22: 29)

The Gospel is undeniably clear on this ... Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." The Pope has muddied the waters on this for Catholics and non-Catholics alike. What more loving and unifying thing can be done than to share the Good News of Jesus Christ with all of mankind? I am supporting a young lady who is just entering RCIA and on our very first meeting the other night, we had to endure the teacher echo these words of Pope Francis...He said, "Isn't it a beautiful thing that all faiths lead to the divine?" All I could think of was what was probably going through her mind... if this is true, why should she even become a Catholic? Why spend the good part of a year and many hours of study, meetings and discussion to get to learn about the Catholic faith and build a relationship with Jesus Christ, if all religions lead to the divine and ultimately to her salvation? Why not pick an easier path? Why are we okay with allowing any confusion about the very first Commandment given to us by God - "I am the Lord thy God. Thou shalt not have strange gods before Me." Where are the brave Shepherds in the Catholic church who will defend our faith and speak up against this insanity!

The Catholic Church denies Jesus in Vatican 2. No church father taught Vatican 2 theology. To think Muslim and Christians adore the same god is logically impossible. In the Quran Allah says he is NOT a father and has NO son. And Allah in the Quran said the greatest sin is to liken god to man. Allah of the Quran also said Jesus never died. Muslim adore Allah of the Quran and reject the god of the Bible by choice. They do not adore the same god like Vatican 2 teaches.

If you will, here is my perspective on the matter: A father had two sons to take care of, and one day he wanted them to learn a lesson and so he sent them out, one by one. One son with a grocery list at night to the butcher district of the town, and the other during the day. When one of the sons did not return late in the evening, the father went out looking for him and found the son, all roughed up weeping on a street corner, and his groceries had been stolen. The father kept silent and did not say anything, he helped his son get up, get home and took care of his wounds. The other son did as he was told and got home safe, with a bag full of groceries. The next day, the two sons were encouraged to talk about their individual experiences. And the son who got beaten up, asked his father infuriated, this; Father, why did you send me into the late evening, in the dark, to the market? Knowing very well there would be thieves and robbers, or even wild animals waiting for me to be ambushed or even kill me? Yet you send my brother during the day to get the same groceries without any risk to himself or the items? The father responded lacking wisdom; I figured eventually you would find a clever way to bring back home the goods safely. A wise father, a father with response ability does not teach in this manner, meaning, to prove a point. He does not put his son in danger, without going along with him, knowing what might happen, when there are other ways, better paths, to follow. You can make the analogy to what the Father of the Church did or did not do. We came from a world of many religions, where tribes and lands destroyed themselves without Christian morals, and sacrificed to idols, worshipped hedonism, and death cults, after Christ imbued the Apostles with the Holy Spirit and they went on to spread the Good News,, religion as it was before ended, and truth was manifest, people converted because the truth set them free, because in their words the truth was spoken, and they could feel it. They did not need persuasion because the Holy Spirit was speaking trough them. The One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church was born. And throughout the nations of the world, civilization itself changed drastically, unrecognizably from what it was before Christ. Not just in the Roman empire. But everywhere the Saints and martyrs went. To say what the Father of the Church said, brings tears to the eyes of the martyrs of the Church. Whom did not believe in a mere ideology, a monotheistic philosophy, but in truth itself, and what this truth entails. They knew Christ. That He was truly risen. Christ came to fulfil prophecy, to forge a new covenant. To unite the heavenly with the earthly again. To free the souls from Hades. And to shatter the vanity and the power of the evil one. To believe in these words of the Father of the Church is to revert to times from before the resurrection. Consider this, if the Lord, is the way, the truth and the life, that means, clearly, when going astray from the way, you lose sight from the destination, you go astray, you get lost, and this has consequences, when you are lead to believe it is fine to walk on a path, that reveals half truths, or no truths, you have fallen into lies and falsehoods, into deceit, into danger, into deception, into darkness, not only to yourself, but to the people entrusted into your care, knowingly or unknowingly, and the most terrifying realization, the Lord said, he is the life, this means, all the other choices or paths or truths, lead to a deadening, or to death, death of the mind, of the heart, of the soul, of this life, and of the spiritual life, and when pondering upon all three aspects bound to one another ,, we have a very profound command, a teaching, prophesy and a realisation all coming together. It is a very serious matter. The most serious of all. Not a trivial thing. That can be swept under the rug of social sensitivities, individual or collective conditioning, or cultural circumstances of the times. It is not relative to what we believe, neither of a philosophical, or academical nature, but what Christ said defines, the very nature of the order of life. And points clearly to the relationship between the Creator and humanity. Between Him and us. It is not a treatise about feelings. But it reveals to us, the meaning of The Passion of Christ. Of the tears of the Mother of God. And of the state of affairs in the world. And so, I say Lord have mercy on us all and save us. Through the prayers of your most Holy ever virgin mother Mary, The Theotokos, our Holy Fathers, all the Saints and Martyrs in Heaven. Have mercy on us, and ever keep us on the path of Your commandments, we humbly pray. St. Joseph pray for us. St. John The Baptist pray for us. St. George pray for us. St. Philomena pray for us. St. Padre Pio pray for us. Father Stefano Penna pray for us

God has humbled/blessed Pope Francis to God’s will. Jesus tells us that He will draw ALL people to Himself: “And I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all people to myself” (John 12:32). Muslims, Jews, Hindus, Buddhisms ARE people. Jesus repeats ‘DRAW’ -“No man can come to Me unless God, the Father, draws him” (John 6:44). NO MAN = no pope, no preacher, no pastor, no parent. To be saved, man must be DRAWN to Christ by Christ, Himself and by the grace of God who chooses on whom to bestow HIS gifts of FAITH, Love, Repentance, Mercy and Compassion.

Theologically Fr. Penna was firm in explaining how Pope Francis was wrong. (He overlooked that Pope Francis calls everyone children of God but that is categorically wrong since we can only become children of God through adoption by baptism.) Practically Fr. Penna suggested that if I don’t speak the truth in love, then the listener gets to ignore me because I offended them by not having perfect charity (which only Jesus has). I don’t agree with that-starts to sound woke somehow as in we are not allowed to trigger any listeners.

@BeholdAndLo-f4v I generally attend the Catholic orthodox DivineLiturgy, so I’m learning about the orthodox Catholic tradition and from their perspective the theme of the Latin right is Sonship by adoption. I’m sure the entire orthodox tradition does not base this concept on one little passage from scripture the reason I am sure of it is because if you just read the scripture, you see that it’s an enduring theme, also if you pay attention to the prayers at the beginning of the new mass of the Catholic Latin Catholic rite you will see that it frequently speaks about adoption. You are arguing for a very modern if not modernist view of the Catholic tradition, I am arguing for the unchanged and unchanging Catholic faith. I am arguing for a difficult teaching to accept, and you are arguing for an easy way to get along with everyone and not to have any problems. Jesus didn’t seem to follow that way and he urged us to carry our cross and to be his disciples who can expect to be treated like their master.

That’s what we’re discussing: can we know better than Jesus Saint Paul, and the entire tradition of Catholicism prior to 1960? Can we change the faith based upon our own belief that we are so much smarter than everyone Else who lived including St. Thomas Aquinas and Saint Francis I’m choosing to say no I’m gonna go with the guys in heaven. 🕊️As a Catholic who actually reads scripture, the following confirms why this pope is in fact a wolf in sheep’s clothing⬇️
    1. Are other “gods” found in other religions idols❓
🕊️“For all the gods of the peoples are idols; but the Lord made the heavens.” 1 Chronicles 16:26
    2. Do idols in other religions forsake our loyalty to our Father❓
🕊️“Those who pay regard to vain idols forsake their true loyalty.” The Book of Jonah 2:8
    3. Is the worship of idols in other religions the beginning, cause and end of every evil❓
🕊️”For the worship of idols not to be named is the beginning and cause and end of every evil.” Wisdom of Solomon 14:27
    4. Is anything offered or used within any other religion towards idols by default offered to and used for the benefit of demons❓
🕊️“What do I imply then? That food offered to idols is anything, or that an idol is anything? No, I imply that what pagans sacrifice they offer to demons and not to God. I do not want you to be partners with demons. You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons. You cannot partake of the table of the Lord and the table of demons.” 1 Corinthians 10:19-21
    5. Can there be any agreement between our Father and idols or us and idols found in other religions❓
🕊️”What agreement has the temple of God with idols? For we are the temple of the living God; as God said "I will live in them and move among them, and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Therefore come out from them, and be separate from them, says the Lord, and touch nothing unclean; then I will welcome you,” 2 Corinthians 6:16-17
    6. Does our Father hate the things people do for other gods in other religions❓
🕊️“Take heed that you be not ensnared to follow them, after they have been destroyed before you, and that you do not inquire about their gods, saying, ‘How did these nations serve their gods?-that I also may do likewise.’ You shall not do so to the Lord your God; for every abominable thing which the Lord hates they have done for their gods; for they even burn their sons and their daughters in the fire to their gods.” Deuteronomy 12:30-31
    7. Have we been told not to become like foreigners that believe in other gods in other religions❓
🕊️”So take care not to become at all like the foreigners or to let fear for these gods possess you, when you see the multitude before and behind them worshiping them. But say in your heart, “It is you, O Lord, whom we must worship.” Baruch 6:5-6
    8. Why should we stay away from other religions when they refuse to accept Jesus as our Lord & Savior❓
🕊️“That they may not teach you to do according to all their abominable practices which they have done in the service of their gods, and so to sin against the Lord your God. - Deuteronomy 20:18
    9. Will people face penalties for devoting themselves to idols found in other religions❓
🕊️“But just penalties will overtake them on two counts: because they thought wickedly of God in devoting themselves to idols, and because in deceit they swore unrighteously through contempt for holiness.” Wisdom of Solomon 14:30
    10. Was the Apostle Paul known for calling people out for their belief in false gods found in other religions❓
🕊️“And you see and hear that not only at Ephesus but almost throughout all Asia this Paul has persuaded and turned away a considerable company of people, saying that gods made with hands are not gods.” Acts 19:26
    11. Why do Christians reject all other gods found in other religions❓
🕊️”For although there may be so-called gods in heaven or on earth-as indeed there are many “gods” and many “lords”- yet for us there is one God, the Father, from whom are all things and for whom we exist, and one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom are all things and through whom we exist.” 1 Corinthians 8:5-6
    12. Is Jesus the only way to our Heavenly Father❓
🕊️”Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but by me.” John 14:6
    13. How are people around the world drawn to Jesus❓
🕊️“All that the Father gives me will come to me; and him who comes to me I will not cast out.” John 6:37
    14. Is Jesus aware of people who do not believe❓
🕊️“But there are some of you that do not believe.” For Jesus knew from the first who those were that did not believe, and who it was that would betray him. And he said, “This is why I told you that no one can come to me unless it is granted him by the Father.” John 6:64-65
    15. Why don’t certain people believe in Jesus❓
🕊️“Jesus answered them, “I told you, and you do not believe. The works that I do in my Father’s name, they bear witness to me; but you do not believe, because you do not belong to my sheep. My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me;” John 10:25-27
    16. Will people die in their sin for not believing in Jesus❓
🕊️“He said to them, “You are from below, I am from above; you are of this world, I am not of this world. I told you that you would die in your sins, for you will die in your sins unless you believe that I am he.” John 8:23-24
    17. Will anyone who refuses to believe that Jesus is our Lord & Savior be condemn❓
🕊️”He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.” Mark 16:16
    18. Is anyone not with Jesus automatically against him❓
🕊️“He who is not with me is against me, and he who does not gather with me scatters.” Luke 11:23
    19. Can we find salvation through anyone else or by any other name separate from Jesus❓
🕊️”And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” Acts 4:12
    20. Is Jesus the same yesterday, today and for ever❓
🕊️“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and for ever.” Hebrews 13:8
As a Catholic, i can admit that their are more wolves than shepherds in power within his true church but we aren’t called to leave but to hold it accountable which the majority of Christians have failed to do⬇️
🕊️”Take heed to yourselves; if your brother sins, rebuke him, and if he repents, forgive him;” Luke 17:3
🕊️”Brethren, if a man is overtaken in any trespass, you who are spiritual should restore him in a spirit of gentleness. Look to yourself, lest you too be tempted. Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ. For if any one thinks he is something, when he is nothing, he deceives himself.” Galatians 6:1-3
🕊️”As for those who persist in sin, rebuke them in the presence of all, so that the rest may stand in fear. In the presence of God and of Christ Jesus and of the elect angels I charge you to keep these rules without favor, doing nothing from partiality.” 1 Timothy 5:20-21
🕊️”For what have I to do with judging outsiders? Is it not those inside the Church whom you are to judge? God judges those outside. “Drive out the wicked person from among you.” 1 Corinthians 5:12-13

@@donnaw3765 🕊️The quotes provided below are historical facts in reference to our early church which existed prior to Romes adoption of Christianity in 313 A.D.
      Church:
📖"Let no man do anything connected with the Church without the bishop. Let that be deemed a proper Eucharist, which is [administered] either by the bishop, or by one to whom he has entrusted it. Wherever the bishop shall appear, there let the multitude [of the people] also be; even as, wherever Jesus Christ is, there is the Catholic Church.” [St. Ignatius of Antioch - Letter to the Smyrneans 8 (c. A.D. 110)]
      Bishop, Priest & Deacon:
📖“Since, then, I have had the privilege of seeing you, through Damas your most worthy bishop, and through your worthy presbyters Bassus and Apollonius, and through my fellow-servant the deacon Sotio, whose friendship may I ever enjoy, because he is subject to the bishop as to the grace of God, and to the presbytery as to the law of Jesus Christ [St. Ignatius of Antioch- Letter to the Magnesians 2 (c. A.D. 110)].
      Eucharist:
📖“Take note of those who hold heterodox opinions on the grace of Jesus Christ, which have come to us, and see how contrary their opinions are to the mind of God... They abstain from the Eucharist and from prayer because they do not confess that the Eucharist is the flesh of our Savior Jesus Christ, Ash that suffered for our sins and that the Father, in his goodness, raised up again. They who deny the gift of God are perishing in their disputes.” [St. Ignatius of Antioch - Letter to the Smyrnaeans 6-7 (c. A.D. 110)].
      Scripture:
📖“[W]hoever perverts the sayings of the Lord for his own desires, and says that there is neither resurrection nor judgment, is the firstborn of Satan. Let us leave the foolishness and the false teaching of the crowd and turn back to the word that was delivered to us in the beginning.” [St. Polycrap of Smyrna - Letter to the Philippians 7 (c. A.D. 135)].
      Sunday:
📖“But Sunday is the day on which we all hold our common assembly, because it is the first day on which God, having wrought a change in the darkness and matter, made the world; and Jesus Christ our Savior on the same day rose from the dead.” [St. Justin Martyr - First Apology 67 (c. A.D. 151)].
      Actions/Works:
📖“We have learned from the prophets, and we believe it is true, that punishments, and chastisements, and good rewards, are rendered according to the merit of each man's actions. If it is not so, then all things happen by fate, and nothing is in our own power. If it is fated that this man be good, and this other evil, the former is not meritorious nor the latter blameworthy [St. Justin Martyr - First Apology 43 (c. A.D. 151)].
      Apostolic Succession:
📖“It is within the power of all, in every church, who may wish to see the truth, to contemplate clearly the Tradition of the apostles manifested throughout the whole world; and we are in a position to reckon up those who were instituted bishops in the churches by the apostles, and [to demonstrate] the succession of these men to our own times; those who neither taught nor knew anything these [heretics] rave about.” [St. Irenaeus of Lyons - Against Heresies 3:3:1 (c. A.D. 189)]
      Baptism:
📖“The children shall be baptized first. All the children who can answer for themselves, let them answer. If there are any children who cannot answer for themselves, let their parents answer for them, or someone else from their family.” [St. Hippolytus of Rome - Apostolic Tradition 21 (c. A.D. 215)].
      Confession:
📖“After this, one of the bishops present, at the request of all, laying his hand on him who is ordained bishop, shall pray this way: O God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. pour forth the power that is from you, of "the princely Spirit' that you delivered to your beloved Child, Jesus Christ, and that he bestowed on your holy apostles, who established the Church that hallows you everywhere, for the endless glory and praise of your name. Father, "who knows the hearts [of all]” grant this servant, who you have chosen for the episcopate, to feed your holy flock and serve as your high priest blamelessly night and day, and unceasingly turn away wrath from your face and offer to you the gifts of the holy Church. And that by the high priestly Spirit he may have authority "to forgive sins" according to your command.” [St. Hippolytus of Rome - Apostolic Tradition 2-3 (c. A.D. 215)].
      Confirmation:
📖“The bishop will then lay his hand upon them, invoking, "Lord God, you who have made these worthy of the removal of sins through the bath of regeneration, make them worthy to be filled with your Holy Spirit, grant to them your grace, that they might serve you according to your will, for to you is the glory, Father and Son with the Holy Spirit, in the holy Church, now and throughout the ages of the ages. Amen." After this he pours the oil into his hand, and laying his hand on each of their heads, says, "I anoint you with holy oil in God the Father Almighty, and Christ Jesus, and the Holy Spirit." Then, after sealing each of them on the forehead, he shall give them the kiss of peace and say, "The Lord be with you." And the one who has been baptized shall say, "And with your spirit." So shall he do to each one [St. Hippolytus of Rome - Apostolic Tradition 21-22 (c. A.D. 215).
      Peter’s Authority:
📖“The Lord says to Peter: "I say to you,' he says, “that you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my Church, and the gates of hell will not overcome it. And to you I will give the keys of the kingdom of heaven. [Mt 16:18-19]. On him he builds the Church, and commands him to feed the sheep [Jn 21:17], and although he assigns a like power to all the apostles, yet he founded a single chair [cathedra], and he established by his own authority a source and an intrinsic reason for that unity. Indeed the others were also what Peter was [apostles], but a primacy is given to Peter, by which it is made clear that there is one Church and one chair.... If someone does not hold fast to this unity of Peter, can he think that he holds the faith? If he deserts the chair of Peter upon whom the Church was built, can he be confident that he is in the Church?.” [St. Cyprian of Carthage - Unity of the Catholic Church 4; first edition (Treatise 1:4) (A.D. 251)].
These few topics (but a glimpse) were not only discussed but settled BEFORE Rome adopted Christianity (The Catholic Church) and eventually became The Roman Catholic Church as it also adopted its name after 313 A.D.
Is the Catholic Church Jesus’ original church❓Yes❗️
Does this excuse all its mistakes and sins from the record❓Of course not❗️As Christians, we are called to hold the church accountable, not leave it and let evil flourish within it.
This refusal of accountability within every Christian has led to over 40,000 diferente Christian denominations and the ignorance which has flourished from it.
🕊️”And his gifts were that some should be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, some pastors and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ; so that we may no longer be children, tossed back and forth and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the cunning of men, by their craftiness in deceitful wiles. Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ,” Ephesians 4:11-15
We are called by God to unite! What better church to do it under than the one he started.

@@donnaw3765 🕊️Should Christians renounce religion (The Catholic Church)❓ In order to properly understand this statement, we must dive deeper into scripture and allow our Father’s Holy Spirit to reveal his truth.
      1. Did the Jewish community reject Jesus’ teachings❓
🕊️“When they heard this, all in the synagogue were filled with wrath. And they rose up and put him out of the city, and led him to the brow of the hill on which their city was built, that they might throw him down headlong. But passing through the midst of them he went away.” Luke 4:28-30
      2. Did the Jewish community reject Jesus’ as our Lord & Savior❓
🕊️”For those who live in Jerusalem and their rulers, because they did not recognize him nor understand the utterances of the prophets which are read every sabbath, fulfilled these by condemning him.” Acts 13:27
      3. Did Jesus pick the Apostle Peter to build his church❓
🕊️“And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my Church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.” Matthew 16:18
      4. Did Jesus’ request to the Apostle Peter to build his church lead the Apostle Paul to create a new religion amongst them❓
🕊️“Great indeed, we confess, is the mystery of our religion: He was manifested in the flesh, vindicated in the Spirit, seen by angels, preached among the nations, believed on in the world, taken up in glory.” 1 Timothy 3:16
      5. Did the Apostles appoint elders (presbyters / priests) in every church❓
🕊️”And when they had appointed elders for them in every church, with prayer and fasting, they committed them to the Lord in whom they believed.” Acts 14:23
      6. Were decisions within the Christian religion made by the Apostles in conjunction with the Elders (presbyters / priests)❓
🕊️“As they went on their way through the cities, they delivered to them for observance the decisions which had been reached by the apostles and elders who were at Jerusalem. So the churches were strengthened in the faith, and they increased in numbers daily.” Acts 16:4-5
      7. Did the Apostle Peter see himself equally with the elders (presbyters / priests)❓
🕊️”So I exhort the elders among you, as a fellow elder and a witness of the sufferings of Christ as well as a partaker in the glory that is to be revealed. Tend the flock of God that is your charge, not by constraint but willingly, not for shameful gain but eagerly, not as domineering over those in your charge but being examples to the flock. And when the chief Shepherd is manifested you will obtain the unfading crown of glory.” 1 Peter 5:1-4
      8. Did Deacons, Elders (presbyters / priests) & Bishops exist within the Christian religion prior to Rome’s adoption of it in 313 A.D.❓
🕊️“And let them also be tested first; then if they prove themselves blameless let them serve as deacons.” 1 Timothy 3:10
🕊️“These they set before the apostles, and they prayed and laid their hands upon them. And the word of God increased; and the number of the disciples multiplied greatly in Jerusalem, and a great many of the priests were obedient to the faith.” Acts 6:6-7
🕊️“Now a bishop must be above reproach, the husband of one wife, temperate, sensible, dignified, hospitable, an apt teacher,” 1 Timothy 3:2
      9. Does the Christian religion with its Deacons, Elders (presbyters / priests) & Bishops remove Jesus as the head of the church❓
🕊️”He is the head of the body, the Church; he is the beginning, the first-born from the dead, that in everything he might be pre-eminent. For in him all the fulness of God was pleased to dwell, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, making peace by the blood of his cross.” Colossians 1:18-20
      10. Does the Christian religion recognize Jesus as having full authority over the church❓
🕊️”And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you; and behold, I am with you always, to the close of the age.” - Matthew 28:18-20
      11. Did the Apostles ask us to stand firm in the traditions we’ve been taught which included deacons, priests and bishops being a part of the church❓
🕊️“So then, brethren, stand firm and hold to the traditions which you were taught by us, either by word of mouth or by letter. Now may our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God our Father, who loved us and gave us eternal comfort and good hope through grace, comfort your hearts and establish them in every good work and word.” 2 Thessalonians 2:15-17
      12. Did the Apostles ask us to stay away from people who are not in accord with the traditions that we’ve received which included deacons, priests and bishops within the church❓
🕊️“Now we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you keep away from any brother who is walking in idleness and not in accord with the tradition that you received from us. For you yourselves know how you ought to imitate us; we were not idle when we were with you,” 2 Thessalonians 3:6-7
      13. Did the Apostles approve of people passing down traditions which included deacons, priests and bishops being a part of the church ❓
🕊️Be imitators of me, as I am of Christ. I commend you because you remember me in everything and maintain the traditions even as I have delivered them to you.” 1 Corinthians 11:1-2
      14. Should we avoid people who hold the form of religion but deny the power of it❓
🕊️“But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of stress. For men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, inhuman, implacable, slanderers, profligates, fierce, haters of good, treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, holding the form of religion but denying the power of it. Avoid such people.” 2 Timothy 3:1-5
      15. How is someone’s Christian religion demonstrated as vain❓
🕊️”If any one thinks he is religious, and does not bridle his tongue but deceives his heart, this man’s religion is vain.” James 1:26
      16. Are we called to hold our Christian religion accountable❓
      17. Does anyone within the Christian religion supersede our Father’s words❓
🕊️“And when they had brought them, they set them before the council. And the high priest questioned them, saying, “We strictly charged you not to teach in this name, yet here you have filled Jerusalem with your teaching and you intend to bring this man’s blood upon us.” But Peter and the apostles answered, “We must obey God rather than men.” Acts 5:27-29
      18. Are we called to follow the Christian religion blindly❓
🕊️”Then the disciples came and said to him, “Do you know that the Pharisees were offended when they heard this saying?” He answered, “Every plant which my heavenly Father has not planted will be rooted up. Let them alone; they are blind guides. And if a blind man leads a blind man, both will fall into a pit.” Matthew 15:12-14
      19. How is the Christian religion considered pure and undefiled by our Father❓
🕊️”Religion that is pure and undefiled before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world.” James 1:27
      20. Should we renounce irreligion❓
🕊️”For the grace of God has appeared for the salvation of all men, training us to renounce irreligion and worldly passions, and to live sober, upright, and godly lives in this world, awaiting our blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ,” Titus 2:11-13

POPE BENEDICT XV (succeeded Pius X in 1912): “In the Church there is room for divergent opinions, and it is clearly the right of everyone to express and defend his or her own opinion. But in such discussions no expressions should be used that might constitute serious breaches of charity; let each one freely defend his or her own opinion, but let it be done with due moderation, so that no one should consider himself or herself entitled to affix on those who merely do not agree with their ideas the stigma of disloyalty to faith or to discipline. It is, moreover, our will that Catholics should abstain from certain appellations (designations) that have recently been brought into use to distinguish one group of Catholics from another. They are to be avoided... they give rise to great trouble and confusion among Catholics... There is no need of adding any qualifying terms to the profession of Catholicism; it is quite enough for each one to proclaim ‘Catholic is my name and Christian is my surname,’ only let them endeavor to be in reality what they call themselves.”

No, but I'm almost always upset when someone write buddhists go to hell. I'm roman catholic and deep believe that Jesus is way to Heavenly Father. He is also a God with Father and Holy Spirit, but if someone didn't hear about gospel, I think such person is not predestinate to hell. For us cathklic deep trust in Jesus + deeds are centre of our faith. Also following for example as saints are important, because people who serve the Will of God are holy. Protestants think that only deep faith, without trying to be best versikn of ourselves can save us. I think we need both faith and work. By the fruits you know them!

The doctrine of papal infallibility specifically applies when the Pope makes a declaration ex cathedra (from the chair of St. Peter) on matters of faith and morals. This means that the Pope is considered infallible only when he:
Speaks in his official capacity as the supreme pastor and teacher of all Christians.
Intends to define a doctrine that must be held by the entire Church.
Addresses a matter of faith or morals.
This infallibility is believed to be guided by the Holy Spirit, ensuring that the doctrine is free from error. It does not mean that the Pope is infallible in all his statements or actions, but only under these specific conditions.
Since the formal definition of papal infallibility at the First Vatican Council in 1870, the Pope has exercised ex cathedra authority only once. This was in 1950, when Pope Pius XII declared the dogma of the Assumption of Mary, stating that Mary, "having completed the course of her earthly life, was assumed body and soul into heavenly glory"

In addition, Singapore, as mentioned in this video, is a wonderful country which everyone can see. There are Chinese, Malays, Indians and Eurasians that make up the entire race ethnics. And the majority of the citizens believe in Christianity, Buddhism, Taoism, Hinduism, Islamic teaching. Despite the differences in everyone's beliefs and religions, everyone do have to agree and accept the fact that ALL people in this nation live in harmony and filled with respect for one another's religious practices too. Hence, please do more research before commenting in an armchair's view. Love conquers everything. Peace is something so precious and valuable, please treasure it at all times.

Meanwhile the unasked question is if it sounds like heresy then why isn’t it heresy and why isn’t Pope Francis a heretic?

The difference about other pope's verses Francis is that Benedict and JP2 and Pius X all spoke with great clarity. This layman seems to be moreclear than this priest. Sometimes education clouds the true belief in the Church's mission.

If education clouds true belief, then what's being taught is not true.

This was a very helpful discussion in the wake of the Pope’s confusing commentary. I can appreciate that both men don’t throw out the baby with the bath water but remain committed to Christ despite the misleading teachings from their Pope, but I did not like how Fr Penna seems to defend Pope Francis in the end. Yes all believers should be praying for the Pope, but more so than that, the Pope needs to be corrected. As a non-Catholic Christian, the Pope making these statements really soldiers to me that 1 Timothy ch4 is talking about churches like the Catholic Church:
‭‭ “Now the Spirit has clearly said that, in the end times, some persons will depart from the faith, paying attention to spirits of error and the doctrines of devils, speaking lies in hypocrisy, and having their consciences seared, prohibiting marriage, abstaining from foods, which God has created to be accepted with thanksgiving by the faithful and by those who have understood the truth. For every creature of God is good, and nothing is to be rejected which is received with thanksgiving; for it has been sanctified by the Word of God and by prayer. By proposing these things to the brothers, you will be a good minister of Christ Jesus, nourished by words of faith, and by the good doctrine that you have secured. But avoid the silly fables of old women. And exercise yourself so as to advance in piety.”
    ‭‭1 Timothy‬ ‭4‬:‭1‬-‭7‬ ‭CPDV‬‬

How about other faiths that sacrificed lives ,to kill thier own in oder to offer to thier gods? In the catholic church the holy mass is the essence of our faith ! It's a simple ceremony but most important to offer our humble self to God and accept him through our holy communion.By repenting and ask God to the forgiveness of our sins! 🙏💞 The priests are most important ,because they are the one's who officiated the most important part in our faith the holy mass! 🙏💖 There's no one who can do this except them!.Jesus Christ requires this celebration, why is there's some who made this complicated? Is that a red flag and a warning in the revelations in new testament about the Anti Christ?

"It is the Gospel of Jesus Christ alone that is capable of profoundly transforming the human soul, making it capable of doing good even in the most difficult situations, of extinguishing hatred and reconciling parties engaged in conflict. May everyone, every man and woman, in full freedom, know the Gospel of Jesus, who has reconciled God and humanity in his Person, and who, knowing what is in the human heart, can heal its wounds."
    - Pope Francis at Luxembourg, Sept 26, 2024

@@BijoyP-h2l It's ok to oppose false or condemned teachings and heresy. In fact it's our duty to point out errors as brethren in Christ.
Many saints of the past challenged Popes even in regard to their legitimacy.
The Truth sets us free. Just read up on Church Doctrine and Dogma, Revelation and The Gospels, and make a decision informed by the discernment of The Holy Spirit as to whether to accept and follow it or not.

    Minute 34:00 , ”unity is not uniformity ” …..in a market place….
This is the gospel of Mammon! Cultural , religious differences are viewed as diversified consumption and thus to be celebrated. When You are selling bread, of course You don’t argue with Your customers about personal beliefs, You just ask for the money 💰 anybody that can pay and behave peacefully is welcome….
This is freemason ideology & merchants’ philosophy!
