yee, if you flare too early but this is when you can learn things from ryanair if you're still airborne after passing last 1000ft marker, smash the plane so you feel at least 4G to have immediate drop of 30-40 kts GS on touchdown to save fuel on reversers
I would fly with that pilot any day. A great job it looked turbulent on the approach. Very good control the entire time. A successful landing and happy ending from sounds of the passengers :)
I love to see the wing control surfaces operate during the climb, so smooth and can almost, and can in fact predict the plane rotation movement, to keep it straight during that high structural stress moment with two monster beasts dragging the bird to safety with that manly roar, its beautiful and sexy and scary at the same time. best job in the world taming those dragons. not many people look at those objects and understand how amazing, filosofical, simple and beautiful they are when looking out the window. i look at all materials, planes, planes components, locomotives, cars, phones, ships, computers, chips, etc... and i just feel overwhelm with the power of the Human kind to overcome their weakness and the ability to improve life quality on demand. I love to understand the physics on stuff and know how and why they do what they do. I fly RC planes and i feel i have a sensitivity with machines, not only with RC planes, but with everything were i can almost feel what the machine is doing, what it wants to do and how its going to behave, but where i feel those connections, i lack on Human deep connections as im kind of socially awkward. Thats why i would love to became a pilot, but the need to join my brain to many others in perfect tone is what its hard to me and thats what keeps me from reaching my dream. I've set a goal in my life, before i die, i will fly some machine, don't care the size or type, but i want to become one with the plane, from inside. Feel every gust, every indication of movement, every atmospheric layer, every adjustment to keep me in the direction of the prize. Love my motorcycle as well, my motorcycle becomes an extension to my body and i turn one with it, i can feel the pain in the engine when i rev it like a madman on the empty highway. I know almost everyone feels like this, but i really enjoy these feelings. I'm always excited like a kid when i air tavel, i can never sleep during the trip and i always stare at the window, look at the wing, feel and ear the tale that the engine is telling to me, how fine tune and sturdy it is, and feel the lucky pilots every move. Best job ever. Better than this only a fighter jet, those are like sex to me.

a go around is a nice indicator of professionalism better to take the 10 extra minutes in the air that to put the plane in a serious situation with a forced landing
It is, I've flown probably more than a hundred flights and only experienced 2 go around one being today, in a lufthansa A321 no less lol (was a windshear escape and not a usual go around)
As much as this is a great video, a go around is not rare, it is a normal practiced procedure which happens everyday as a pilot in training I can indeed say that this is most certainly not rare

The approach wasn't unstable, there was just a lot of turbulence and probably crosswinds too. There was probably a sudden, unexpected tailwind at some point during the flare, causing the plane to float

The pilot of my Ryanair flight to Faro should have gone around because I've been in the 737-800 quite a lot and I know it shouldn't have to slow down as hard as he made it
Do you have any log or something? What flightnumber and date? Maybe he just had false reports from other pilots about the water on runway or something. So he had to slow more down on the second half. Or he forgot to take out Autothrottle what would be a bit funny imo. As long he did not overrun the runway he did a good job. Someone complaining a breaking is really rare. Just bc Rianair is shit, does not mean that the pilots are too. The one thing every airline is looking for (even shitty ones) are good pilots.
I bet you one thing: The pilot KNEW the people would clap when he got the second approach right. He'll have waited for it and I promise you: He'll have hated it. I know that you people want to be nice and thank him for the good landing, but actually you show him that he's fucked up for some reason, because something has not been "normal". I promise you that. Hmm, pritty late go around decision, mostly you decided if you do a go around you not even fly above the landing. But if you here the captain the did a bad landing, comming in to fast
no way, this was a very good approach as always. it was a very windy and gusty day and faro has a short runway. a gust hit the plane just before touchdown, bringing out of the touchdown zone. That's why the pilot performed a goaround. You can assume that the pilots did a very good job on this one here ;)

Pilot explained in the PA about the speeds, but only you and I and other enthusiasts know his approach speed was a lot, so caused the go around.
