May I suggest Phoenix Wright? While the amount of things he’s survived in his own game prove he has durability, in terms of actual physical prowess he’s got very little going for him. And yet despite being a human lawyer he manages to go toe to toe with actual superhero’s in Marvel vs Capcom 3… even if he has to borrow Maya and Gumshoe’s dog to do it.
Wright was in the last one.
And the balls to put Galactus to trial... and without Mr Fantastic to take Galactus' case.
To be fair, lawyers in his world all seem to be masters of energy blasts.

Re Sebastian: In fairness one of my grandads had to be bailed by my aunt for brawling with two much younger guys when he was doorman for the Legion club he was a member of. The guy was 75, and had walked with a severe limp since his 20s.

Way back in the day when the first smash bros game came out, my friends and I thought of jigglypuff as a joke character. Until one of the guys got really good with her.. we no longer believe that.
Melee kind of "upped the ante" introducing Pichu, who's not only a smaller and lighter version of Pikachu but also hurts itself whenever it uses electricity. And Ultimate kept the trend alive with Isabelle.

Gon in Tekken 3 initially looks like a pushover, given he's a tiny dinosaur that's not even tall enough to be waist high to the rest of the fighters...and then you realise that not only does his shortness mean a lot of attacks go at least a foot over his head, but he's also the only character in the game with projectile attacks so can cheese you to death
Dr. Bosconovitch too. He's hard to hit.
In Tekken 2, Roger looks kind of silly given that he's a kangaroo in boxing gloves, but he's got a combo that can KO any opponent but Jack 2, Prototype Jack, and Kuma in two seconds.
I was going to suggest him too. He's absurd in that game, and can easily stunlock opponents no matter who or what they are. His fart ability reaches as high as anyone can jump, and instantly knocks down anyone it hits, especially if they are on the ground, as it briefly paralyzes them too. Then, while they are down, Gon can easily blast them with fire and send them sailing across the ring. He's insanely cheap.

I'll call for Felicia from the Darkstalkers series and beyond, Some of her opening animations depicted her chasing a butterfly onto the battlefield, then suddenly realize there's someone she's supposed to fight nearby
B.B.Hood is worth noting too. Especially since half her animations (and her overall design) would lead you to believe she's a helpless little girl, and the other half expose the ruthless killer she actually is.
Yeah both BB Hood and Felicia look cute but oh damn...is just like a lady friend of mine from school said back then "Cute, adorable and DANGEROUS!!!"
Regarding Sebastian, just had our chimney repaired today. The guy is 4’8” and 84. Did it himself! Pretty sure he could also kick any of our asses!
Random bit of trivia: Shigechi's family name, Yangu, is derived from the English word "Young," as in Neil Young, hence another reason why his Stand is named Harvest. I bring this up because copyright law does a real number on all the countless other musical references throughout JoJo.

I'm still not sure why they changed Oingo and Boingo when the American show Archer was allowed to have characters of the same names. Plus I can't imagine that any member of Oingo Boingo would have had a problem with either of these.
It’s weirdly inconsistent with Jojo, with some (like R.E.O Speedwagon) skating by completely unchanged, but watching the subbed anime or reading the manga will let you find out most of the original names. Or at least avoid some of the terrible changes (Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap being changed to something like ‘Nasty Acts at a Reasonable Price’ is a personal favourite)

Also, Filthy Acts at a Reasonable Price is really good, but I also have to contend that Limp Bizkit being changed to Flaccid Pancake is just gold.

You know, the game that features the likes of not one, but TWO 10 year old boys, and a 1 foot tall mouse that stuns itself with its own shock electric shocks.
And a secretary, a two dimensional shadow, and of course Literally Just A Dog And Duck.
An add-on for the Famicom/NES, a tiny pink thing, a potted plant (seriously), and about a half dozen other literal children.

The hand if it was smaller no dah i mean all colorful characters you mentioned are smaller but scaled in smash u don't get instant dodge for being less than 16:9 age when u playin on a 4:3 screen origins.

Or Sebastian trained Lilli. Someone brought up in the lore her father didn't want her to fight so she took gymnastics. So the only person to learn from would be Sebastian.
Glad to see Barney included in that list since Xenophage very rarely comes up in anything. I played that game and tried out Barney and it was just unbelievably broken since all you had to do was spam the attack button and the opponent wouldn't be able to do anything to fight back.
And with him being able to only take one hit, he was the very definition of a glass cannon build.
Suggestion for the future: video game fighting styles less silly than they seem (pro wrestling used to be real, kabuki is based on actual martial arts, etc.).
"kabiki" reminds me of a character from the first "samurai showdown" game.

What about:
- Bedman from Guilty Gear series: a man in his bed, sleeping
- Momo from Justice Project, a little girl whose fighting style is tennis
- 14-year-old Chris from KOF97, before, well, a version of him being the final boss - and an SNK boss, no less

Project Justice has a LOT of people whose styles seem off. Another weird one is the school nurse(Kyoko Minazuki).... yeah, the NURSE.... The person who's presumably a medical professional? She was pretty good IMO too.

His fighting style isn't very intimidating, I agree, but the guy himself is a swimmer and has the muscle to back it up.
So in my book, he's still more intimidating than, say, a petite violinist, who in turn is more intimidating than a ten-ish year old girl. Her non intimidatingness is even part of the story mode: that's how she fools Shoma after all.
In Tekken 3 i think,there was this professor who was on the ground all the time. He was in Yoshimitsus cutscenes. Also Gon,the small dino. :]
That's Dr. Bosconovitch. He's Alisa's Father/Creater.
In Tekken Tag 2, the good floor bound doctor had a move where he would run away but a singularity would then pull both characters close, the doc would trip, land close to the opponent and for some reason cause a small explosion on impact.
He could also just sit down cross legged and propel himself with what I can only explain as an explosive ass blast and headbutt incoming foes right in the groin

Never stop doing these fighting vids, Andy. Always something new to discover and they really massage my nostalgia button. For the opposite version, may I suggest : Hugo (SF3), Abigail (SFV), Iron Tager (Blazblue), Waldstein (Under Night), Potemkin (GGXrd R2), Donvalve (Battle Fantasia) and Byakko (Star Gladiator/Plasma Sword).
5:06 if the various Batman stories have taught me anything, it's that fictional British butlers can always have a background as MI6 agents and thus tutor their charges in martial arts
Look at Andy going out of his way to find more fighting games to talk about. I love it! Also the school girl was carrying a book bag. It is like a backpack that you carry. Filled with books as heavy as bricks.

@@marhawkman303 Usually cloth or leather. Very common in anime. Backpacks are for children, the bag helps prepare fir the adult world.

If anyone has read the Gon manga before playing Tekken then the strenght of Gon is not a surprise. :D
I don't think sebastian needs a raise, as stated, he appears to be over 60 but has the flexibility of a young person. So I assume he is well beyond taken care of and given top of the line treatment to attempt all this.
7 Fighting Game Bosses who actually were pretty fair.
Epyon from Gundam Wing: Endless Duel was among them. Sure, as the end game boss his AI was beefed up. However, unlike every other playable mobile suit, Epyon does not have a standard ranged attack. In fact, only ONE of its attacks has any range and that its super move.
@The Spell Alchemist Considering most fighting game bosses are intended to be unfair, it might be a refreshing take.
Bear in mind, that stereotype is a result of many fighting games having an arcade variant meant to strip you of quarters. And when ported to consoles they kept that cheesiness.

On the one hand, I actually like the concept that maids and butlers, in addition to taking care of master and manor, are also sworn to defend such with their lives, but it's amazing how many of them seem to actually be trained assassins, wielding special powers, and ready to handle ANY problem their mistress requires of them. The Nohrian family help, from Fire Emblem Fates come to mind, as does the character who accompanies Zifnab in the Death Gate Cycle books.

Wow, haven't thought about Battle Arena Toshinden in a long time. Had the pc version back in the day, but was too young to understand the controls properly. Also I always have sucked at fighting games 😂
I thought the next time I'd hear Shigekiyo's annoying voice was when I'd eventually rewatch all the seasons of JoJo, which wouldn't be for many years since I just watched them relatively not long ago.

Fun fact, Shigechi is voiced by Yamaguchi Kappei, one of the few old time legendary VAs to defy type-casting. He's been in so much and yet people don't really seem to know him.
@@huppaduppa I know and like a lot of the roles he's done but Shigechi is just so annoying as a character that the voice gets to me. That just shows the talent of the VA though.
I would suggest Pom from "Them's Fightin' Herds." She may only command her puppies to fight for her, but underestimating her could land you in trouble... against her quivering hooves.

I’m assuming you didn’t mention smash because it could take up a whole video. I mean with non-fighting characters like villager and Isabel from AC, The dog and duck from duck hunt, PAC-man, and Rosalina, it has enough for a whole video.

How about Gon? A tiny little dinosaur with adorable boxing gloves on his widdle claws. His punching range is ludicrous, but he more than makes up for it with the power of flatulence. Also, being a dino half the size of other characters, most attacks will pass harmlessly over his head.
Or Bosconovitch. Both are really hard to hit. I definitely preferred Gon.
Kirby and Jigglypuff in any Smash
Sh.Bros game. Both are cute pink balls, but can crack stone. Heck, Kirby is hinted to be some kind of god of destruction.
in Playstation All Stars Battle Royale one of the game's playable characters in it's roster is Fat Princess her moveset consists of summoning characters from her games to help her in battle like warriors and mages she definitely seems less intimidating compared to guys like Kratos or Needles Kane. There's also Parappa the Rapper and Sackboy like Fat Princess they may not look very intimidating but they are still capable of giving a beating.
Jigglypuff from Smash? I mean, sure, it's debatable on if it qualifies as a fighting game, but, I mean, Jigglypuff can kinda kill you by falling asleep, has one of the best off-stage games in Smash and is actually one of the easier characters to beat Event 51 in Melee with due to Giga Bowser's immense hitbox (using the aforementioned "kill-you-by-falling-asleep" trick).
How is debatable if smash is a fighting game?

Cronos from Bloody Roar Extreme, a game where the fighters can transform into human/animal hybrids, usually turns into a penguin. Not even a hybrid of a human and a penguin, just a penguin. And like Shigekiyo Yangu, most attacks go over his head. On top of that his hyper beast mode is an ass-kicking phoenix.
I played a fair amount of MVC 2 and I always thought Servbot was one of the funniest characters. He’s nearly impossible to hit because he’s so tiny!
Unless you're Cyclops, and use his low beams. seriously, zap zap zap zap.... just low enough for headshots.
The only Dinosaur who teaches kids about Imagination that is less scary than Barney, is Egbert

Dan Hibiki. Yes I know he's the king of Joke characters in video games, but he has been known to kick people's asses like a group of thugs or even a few of Bison's low level troops. That and he can somehow tap into the Raging Demon.

On a similar note to Yuki, Norimaru from the Japanese version of X-Men VS Street Fighter is just a regular dude (well, a japanese comedian at least) fighting with normal strikes and thrown objects like books and protractors.
He's also hilarious and only gets to exist on the JP Arcade version I believe, thanks to rights issues. All other versions just stuck the game's logo on his slot.
Earthworm Jim is actually hilariously powerful in-universe. He's just a goof.

I loved Sonic Battle on the GBA when I was a teenager, and as I recall Cream the Rabbit was an absolute murder machine.

Some honorable mentions: Gon (Tekken 3), Valerie (Fantasy Strike), Nakoruru (Samurai Shodown), Hotaru (Garou: Mark of the Wolves), Jigglypuff (Smash Bros.), Ned the Janitor and Pojo (Mace: The Dark Age), BB Hood (Darkstalkers), Bao (King of Fighters)
Teddie from Persona 4: Arena. You won’t be laughing at the silly bear mascot costume for long once he starts swatting you with a baseball bat, teleport around the stage with TV’s, rain wooden buckets on fire a like a goddamn meteor shower, straight up food poison you or summon a giant version of himself to slap you so hard you go flying like a pinball.
Not to mention how his Instakill has him use his Persona, Kintoki-Douji as a rocket and create fireworks...
Amingo was easily my best character. Loved that cactus, should have brought him back

6. Listen, if I ever see a fat cactus running up to kick my butt, that will be very intimidating.
7. Yeah, no. That opponent would slowly devour your corpse until there was nothing left.

It just goes to show you to never underestimate them!
Kirby and Pichu from smash bros could kick one's teeth in with ease, despite appearing as non-threatening as marshmallow fluff.
Kirby is some sort of demon.
It's worth noting that even in the manga, Shigechi was already a threat to be reckoned with. The protagonists basically got out of having to beat him by making nice because actually beating him was *too difficult*. His move of 'getting people drunk' could just as easily have been 'instant lethal poison' and only wasn't because he's, y'know, a little kid, not a murderer.
Being too short to hit effectively - effectively being 'anti-base-mechanics' for the rules of a fighting game - is also kind of a funny adaptation of his biggest advantage from the manga, that being that damaging harvest did nothing to harm him, making the usual mechanics of 'punch the enemy stand to beat up the master' not work well on him there either.
I was thinking this, myself. "underestimate Shigechi at your own peril" is basically the entire point of the character.
Barney is terrifying even when you're not getting your everything annihilated by him.
I was going to mention Kirby in Smash Bros but everybody knows what a badass Kirby is.
Instead my vote goes to Meitenkun from KoF who is a sleepy boy carrying a pillow and wearing pajamas.
I think Shingo Yabuki would fit in this list completely, when You look at him you have a thought about "Just joke character that is Fanboy of Kyo" until you realize he is stronger than Kyo himself with his raw strengh with no fire elements unlike you

Personally one I would have mentioned is Carl Clover from the BlazBlue games, a 10 year old boy in short shorts and a top hat puppeting a giant spike armed mannequin that was made using his sister's soul

BlazBlue: There's the loli (Platinum the Trinity), shota (Carl Clover) & Cat girl (Taokaka, especially in her gag reels). There's also in Persona 4 Arena Ultimax: Teddie & Elizabeth (as long as you don't read her title)
Note to self: Do NOT mess with a butler or maid in ANY universe that has a lot of fighting involved.
Or in any universe. Hard stop.
My favorite has to be Shujinko from Mortal Kombat Deception though. He is a character with the megaman like power to copy others, and when he copies Scorpion's harpoon throw move, instead of Scorpion's intimidating "GET OVER HERE!", he calmly says "get over here" in a frail old man voice and it's hilarious.
Princess Peach, Villager, Isabelle, Wii Fit Trainer. All of them don’t exactly look threatening and in the case of the Animal Crossing fighters, they’re not doing actual fight moves so much as just random things you can do in their respective game. And Wii Fit Trainer is literally just doing regular yoga and exercise. And Princess Peach doesn’t exactly come off as a fighter for anyone who doesn’t know Mario or smash. And yet these fighters can seriously kick ass with the best of ‘em.
This needs a second part, with Clay Fighter, Smash and Battle Fantasia Characters
If I ever find a fighting game with character customisation, I’m damn well gonna make a giant tattooed baby man in a sombrero and fishnet stockings.

It’s entirely possible that it was Sebastion that taught Lily to fight in the first place so it would make perfect sense that they would know the same moves and he would be able to use them effectively. He taught her everything she knows…

Pac-Man is also pretty strong in Smash Bros Ultimate
Pac-Man and Earthworm Jim were such masterful combatants that they appeared in two fighting game franchises: Smash Bros. and Clay FIghter, respectively.
I love how Gals Fighters, Yuki and the NGPC have made an appearance! Best handheld fighters ever made!
Honestly, could have designed this based on Smash Bros alone. Yoshi, Kirby, Pikachu, Pichu, Jigglypuff, Ice Climbers, Mr. Game & Watch, Ness, Lucas, Villager, Duck Hunt, Isabelle...
If I had to pick just one from Smash Bros, it'd be Pichu. They're literally a baby, they hurt themselves with most of their attacks, and yet they have quite a lot of powerful moves. Sure they're not the top of the SSB Melee competitive charts, but they are entirely viable in casual play.
It’s a different type of fighting game, but Smash has it’s fair share of characters that don’t look threatening, like Pichu, Game and Watch, and Rob, who is literally a console extension.

Street fighter x tekken was my favorite 360 Era fighting game playing against friends getting wasted beating the hell out of each until the sun rose. Fight me, idc about the whole blahblah about gems breaking the game, the game was a blast either way.
Side note: I'm still waiting for Tekken x Streetfighter that's apparently never going to be released at this point.

Oh boy... The world of BlazBlue has a lot of potential picks. We got Taokaka, an artifical beastkin with the attention span of a goldfish and a love for meat buns! There's also Platinum the Trinity, a child with three souls in one body. The third, Trinity, usually stays in the backseat and let's Luna and Sena run the show.
