Tritons just plain get the job done, once you've owned a Triton you can't switch to another company because you know your Mitsu won't let you down, without being overpriced!
I am 56 years old and had hilux’s my whole life and loved them. I bought my first non hilux a few months ago. The triton is to me what Hilux was when I was a kid. Everything I need and nothing I don’t. I bought the club cab with a tray. The basic kit was 37k for the automatic. Another first for me and the triton auto gear box is super smooth. (I now live in WA and sand driving is most common). Bought it through that John Cadogan guy on TH-cam. Very happy with it. Even good as a daily driver.
They're great cars. Johny had me considering both the Triton and the BT-50 but it was the value proposition of the Triton that sealed the deal for me. All the best!
Those John Cadogan blokes wouldn't help me source my latest Triton, they plain told me I'm better off sourcing one myself because Tritons don't get ridiculous mark ups, I appreciated their honesty.
I brought one in august brand new... went from Brisbane to innamincka- walker’s crossing to Birdsville and back to Brisbane. That includes 200km desert crossing. I absolutely love it, and that coming from a hilux
Im a big fan of Mitsubishi SUV’s, I’ve owned a pajero sport ‘08, pajero limited ‘10 and endeavor ‘10. When the MR became available in Mexico i fell in love instantly, I just bought a ‘22 GLS Diesel 4x4 and I’m absolutely loving this truck. Still drives like an off roader, feels rugged and dependable. It’s going to be my daily driver for the next 10 years.
Triton was the best kept secret until recently. It's now so popular that Mitsubishi has increased the price to the extent that its competitors aren't that much more expensive. I've been running Tritons on my farm since I come out of Hiluxs some 20 years ago and love them
@@boarderz8275 it seems like the other brands have put there prices up so yes I can buy a boat with the spare cash My single cab 4x4 is $48 grand now, I paid $32 grand 3 years ago

I got a triton glx+ because a friend looks after parts at MIT's, Mazda and Isuzu and raved about the Mr triton also had a chat with Jason from jakem farm and he saves a lot of 4wds.
Good to hear that! Nothing wrong with older Tritons. Sadly I think they fell victim to the haters out there and admitedly they weren't flawless but from what I'm hearing from Mitsubishi the next generation ones will be darn close
Bit the bullet about a year ago, took the top 5 for a test drive and purchased the Triton premium the 6 speed gearing was just brilliant especially when compared with the competition & 8 speed Pajero sport that felt flat and sadly unmatched with engine. So for only for 11k more, & after some keen end of quarter haggling for a deal with cheeky of list extras , the premium and the 3 model steps below have a standard locking differential 😁 and super select the premium has a few BS features eg seat warmers 😳 but essentially what should be standard fare on all, sensible safety extras like lane departure, surround pedestrian & cross traffic warning and not the cotton wool ones like sign recognition and adaptive cruise control. now having clocked 65,000 kms of touring in 12 months. (despite Covid ), I can say the likeable strong points are as follows, really quiet at 100kmh, (I’m surprised that this is not your experience with the basic Ute) to continue, super good in sand, towing the runabout is effortless, I usually forget it’s there till I’m at a boat ramp, rather than the weight and a winch and heavy bar I’ve only added recovery points front and rear via tow bar/slide in recovery shackle, cheap too thanks to a BCF special, lid is a paint matched locking hard top for tub, along with a 3 layer draw from super cheap, so along with kings awning with sides and annex easy up tent all bolted on the Mitsubishi racks (Thurle) and a plethora of the newest light weight recovery & tech accessories, including ever shower ,second battery Anderson plugs wired through solenoid and digital charging control set up. The second battery also charges via the light weight folding solar panels they perfectly fit on the tub lid. My point being GVM weight is still light enough to BE traffic zippy, leaving the new gear permanently in and it doesn’t scream out back tourer as it all fits nicely in the tub without the weight penalty of my last Toyota setup. Oh and I saved about 50k /70k Vs building a custom rig on a new Toyota by adding a box etc etc
@@johnsambar2658 that’s a bummer. We’ve had ours for a little over 12 months now, great vehicle. It’s a long wait but you won’t regret it. Plus you saved around 15k over the Toyota and Ford.
@@tezzanewton very true! Pricing for those models are borderline extortionate, not to mention most car review channels are internally pressured to crap on Tritons. Nice review. We are looking at the Triton, few good deals going at the moment. Dont think we want the top tier models or the basic bottom tier. Maybe midway. Have you driven the manual ones or are the autos good. Also every new car i get sucked into buying $$$$ of accessories.cheers
I love this channel, after having brought a MR GLX 2019 Triton your channel is like gold to me . I’ve had some setbacks with mine eg LED headlight inserts don’t fit because of the space factor. Also the new nudge bars are so over priced and very ugly. Also that box thing that hangs down just before the rear diff takes all your underside height away. Also for $38,000 you’d think a apple car play would be standard

gonna get an MR, just trying to decide between GLX+ and GLS. If GLX-R had lockers would be my pick
Go the GLS. The GLX+ just has a basic 4x4 system, GLS has Superselect 2 which is honestly just as good as the hype makes it out to be.

Hey, never towed with mine but that's well within the towing capacity of the vehicle. In my experience it handles weight in the back pretty well.
I tow a 2t boat on my automatic Triton - it handles it very well I was pleasantly surprised
Great stuff👍🏻👍🏻
Does it have the dampner for vibration?
If you mean the dampener on the rear diff, yeah it would have it.
