      Another good talk James. You have a great community here! Well as you know, our channel for the past year has mostly been the renovations on our little red roofed cottage. But as we get closer to the end of big projects, we’ll probably start including more on retirement life, small town living, and small house living. We have a few other ideas we’d like to explore, but those will wait until we’re a little less busy! Thanks for the opportunity to share. Have a great weekend! ☕️🇨🇦

      @@CoffeeWalksandWhatever I've been subscribed to this channel since before I did my first video. These guys make me feel tired as they achieve so much. Please check them out and help them get to 2k subs, they're not far away now! Have a great weekend OJ & Deb

    I agree totally with his list. I also love biographical books. 👍

    You make simple points that somehow escape most of us. You’re better than therapy 👍

    Be kind and expect nothing in return. Do it solely for yourself to help build the world you want to live in. You may not know what a stranger is struggling with so don't expect acknowledgement from them for your unsolicited kindness -- you'll be less discouraged that way!

      Absolutely Jason. There was a time when I was that stranger.

    Love this! Perfect! My daughter and I have been talking about signing up to volunteer for a program like “Meals on Wheels” or something like that. I’m going to open up that conversation again when I pick her up from school today.

    Good tips James. We’ve found the best self help book is the Bible. 😊

    Hello James, great video. Thank you for sharing. I'm thankful for you. I'm a volunteer for the prison and going to for the animal shelter. I miss my little schnauzer. Thank you ... Not interested in having a channel of my own. I've always been curious. Self care I have to work on.

      Hi Pam, thanks for your comment as always. It's great that you volunteer and being curious stands you in good stead.

    Hi James, thanks for the vid. What would be your favorite 3 (auto)biographies? Best, Van.

    • @JamesMurphyYT
      @JamesMurphyYT  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Van - thanks for asking.
      First up is A Golden Age by UK 5 times consecutive Olympic gold Rower
      Second is Rudy by Daniel 'Rudy' Ruetigger - It's a tale of never giving up and possibly the the best Sport biography I've ever. There is also a film and an ever better documentary about him.
      Thirdly RFK by C David Heymann - living in the UK, I don't really know much about American Politics, but from reading it, he struck me as the brains behind JFK and would probably have been a better president had he not been killed.
      All three are excellent as were the great 2 of them were autobiographies the other was a biography.
      Thanks for asking - that was a great question!

    Well, you've done music and movies, but I don't remember you giving us your favorite reads. So not counting self helps, what woud your top 10 favorite reads be that you could go back and read over and over again?

    • @JamesMurphyYT
      @JamesMurphyYT  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The only books I re-read are self help books as I find something different in them each time. I take what I need from them at the time. I can't remember re reading any other books to be honest.
      Thanks Tyler, I'll have a think on it
