Hello.. Kaye from Oklahoma USA here. I had to chuckle when you mentioned opening doors for people who may be younger than you. I've volunteered at retirement centers for years. One day I was speaking to one of the residents and she mentioned her age. I was shocked to discover he was 2 years younger than I was! I never considered myself to be her contemporary but there I was. 😅
Andy, Cardiff: It struck me yesterday simply listening to the news on the radio, and someone said the person was 50, and I caught myself thinking "oh, that's quite old" before realising that I turned 50 this year :)
I am Carla from the state of Delaware in the US. I'm in my 60s now, but the oldest I've ever felt in my life was age 25. I remember sitting there on my 25th birthday saying I'm a quarter of a century. That's so old. I chuckle at that now. I remain young at heart no matter what age I've reached.
Hi Carla, thanks for commenting! I didn't do that, but I can remember think how far away 60 would be, when I was 20. I'm still amazed at how quickly those 40 years went!
Thanks for shsring james. You have a positive outlook. i am happy to be alive as I am the last remaining of 4 girls. Two passed before age 50. Life is a gift and every dsy is previous. The stuff doesn't matter. I live in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada.
Hi James, I didn't think about it before but I almost died when I was 19. I only weighed 70 lbs when I got out of the hospital. It makes one realize the gift our lives are. Thank you for the video.
I definitely don’t feel my age! It’s taken a long time to that place where I don’t feel the need to explain myself or my choices, but it sure is a better way to live. Thanks for another good talk James. I think you know we’re from Manitoba 🇨🇦. We’re almost in the center of the country, east to west, and just a couple of hours north of the USA border. Have a great week. ~ Deb
Thanks Raymond. A lot of my viewers are getting to that age and so it's kind of natural to look back and and see how you can improve your life. Thanks for watching.
Please look at a photo of Abraham Lincoln. He was 56 when he died. He looks like he could be your father, NOW. Look at old photos of people and you will realize that when we thought people looked old, they DID! We have changed physically. Many people in their 20s during USA's Great Depression look way older than me and I'm 78. Advances in mental and physical equipment and food and whatever. Plus, my parents were 42 when I was born and they WERE older...grandparents older. BTW, my doctor actually told me, "I know your mind will always be in its 20s but please remember your body is in its 60s and you have to start treating it that way." Well, disabilities have forced me to act like I am almost 80 but he was sure right about my mind! And, yes, I sing along out loud with the music in the stores...people look at me in my electric shopping cart and smile. Last night I was listening to Hit Songs from the 80s...before that...70s, 60s and 50s. Sir Cliff, in his 60s, said he never thought he would be still doing this because "we were told rock and roll would never last." Sir Mick, in his 20s, said, "I don't expect to be doing this in my 30s!" Rock on, Sandscratcher, rock on.
Absolutely...people did look older when they were younger in the past. We say that often. You only need to see film of middle aged people in the 1960s and they look so much older than they are. My parents were in their late 30s when they had me - I have a sister who's 76 and a brother who's 74 - there's a big gap between them and me. I think everyone's mind feels younger than their years. Mine feels about 25. I'll do my very best to carry on - yesterday my wife and I were dancing around our bedroom before we were even dressed!
Are you related to Donald Trump? You have some of his mannerisms and facial features. Not saying you sound like him. You sound intelligent and quite pleasant. Nice video. At age seventy I feel like a teenager most of the time. Even my health is a little better. But yes, it does hurt a little more when I fall on the ice. Milwaukee Wisconsin USA
I'm trying to find out where my channel viewers come from. Please let me know your name and where you're from (state/county and country). Thank you!
I'm Kym 67 Melbourne Australia. I love the freedom of being on the pension. I'm letting go of all the tension of making a living.
Hi Kym. That's great to hear. I'm glad you have less stress. Thanks for watching.

Hi Kaye. It's funny how it creeps up on us and we don't realise it. Thanks for commenting!

I open doors for old people before I realise they're probably younger than me! I guess that means I know how you feel Andy! Thanks for your comment.

To quote McCoy in the pilot for Star Trek: TNG, "What's so damned troublesome about not having died?"
I like that saying!

That's right Janet. It is a gift. It took.me having my own health situation that made me realise what was important in life. Thanks for commenting!
