This is an awesome find vary cool town house there's just a charming way that they did them in the 70s 80s and 90s they all look so different and unique. And marry Christmas and have a happy new year!
Nice set overall for its time. To be fair to the set, back then. We didn't have the technology like we do now. Nice work on the restoration and you can always enhance it. All the best, AP.
@@henrysvintagetoys Merry Christmas to you and your family as well mate. If you get the chance. I would love to see videos of the Lego Boats that were from 1987 that were able to float on water. I had many fond memories of using them in the paddling pool back in my childhood back in 1987/1988 as my favourite of them three was the Lego 4030 Cargo Ship. All the best, AP.
@@TugOfBricks There are already a lot of boat reviews on my channel, including the 4 fire fighter boats. and this summer, when the weather is good, I will hopefully finally find the time to test them all it in the swimming pool and make video's about it. 4030 Cargo Carrier from 1987 is one of the few boats that I still miss in my collection. It is valuable because of the Lego inscription on the containers. Even without box and manual, this set is very hard to find. I have been looking for it for a long time, maybe I will find it in 2025
i've got this villa since i was a kid... actually, it was a christmas gift for my sister (I got the mythical "Victory Lap Raceway" that year), but I got it, too! 🤣 I like the small car, better than today transatlantic ones... and I love the bed, the very first in my collection! For a very luxury house we had to wait until Paradisa...
I always thought of the older cars as being saloons like the Ford Cortina or the Morris Marina and the newer ones as being hatchbacks like the Austin Metro or Ford Fiesta.
@@henrysvintagetoys There were some very good lego token collecting offers in the late 80s and early 90s in the UK, Esso and Weetabix being the big two. Looking back I think Weetabix was more likely as the Esso stuff was mostly branded or racing stuff, and I remember eating a lot of weetabix for a few months straight!
@@FlatDerrickin the future I will post a video about Lego set 1592 Town Square - Castle Scene. That was a set that you couldn't by in the story but was a promotion from Weetabix.
I definitely prefer the earlier set. I don't think it's correct to refer to the driveway as having cobblestones. To me it looks like what's known in the UK as "crazy paving". Thanks for the thorough review!
Ho ho ho fijne kerstdagen Henry. As I commented on 6374, I had this 1988 one as a kid but even then when I looked at the older catalogues, I liked the look of 6374 more and now that I have it, I was right! Maybe if the house here was further back on the plate they could have had more space in the garden to do something interesting like a swimming pool (previewed in alternative build of 6374). Do you ever put the sets together into a town layout or do you keep the sets strictly taken apart and in boxes etc?
Thank you for your comment and watching! I will plan a video where I show my customized town! I keep not everthing in the boxes. Most castle sets are not displayed, but the town sets
Pamiętam ,że w latach mojego dzieciństwa to był jeden z większych zestawów. Raczej widziany był przeze mnie w katalogach w sklepie rzadko się trafiały. Jak był już do kupienia to za $ w Pewexie :)
To rzeczywiście klasyk!
WOW! Thanks for the memories - ma parents bought me this set in 1991
cool! It" a great set! Thanks for watching!

Nice review, I like the the set 6374 most, but I like the other as well. Greetings from province Limburg in Belgium East.
Thank you for watching! En prettige eindejaarsfeesten :-) Groeten van Henry uit West-Vlaanderen.

Thank you for watching

a sportscar would have been nice
Nice retro LEGO preview!😁
Thank you!
I had this set. I remember I got it for free with a promotion from somewhere - maybe Esso?
I have not heard about that! in 1988 you could buy it for 20 euros in a toystore.
