Since it's not mentioned in the description: This is a track originally composed by Michiel van den Bos back in 99 and remixed by Rom Di Prisco for UT3. And i love the original, the remix, and the work of Rom Di Prisco.
This is probably the best track I've heard in a game. It was amazing in facing worlds (or something like that) in ut99 but with the better dynamic range this is just amazing. Really liking the jungle dnb track since I first heard it, this remake is just amazing.
As you sit in that sniper nest at the top of the tower... I don't think anyone gets a chance to leave spawn without gambling to run inside from the back or using the teleporter gun. Fun times!

Unreal, which many consider to be the greatest soundtrack of all time, and Rom di Prisco. That right there is the perfect mix, and it shows, I mean, sounds. These old school vibes mixed in with the jungle/DnB, oh my. This track, more specifically, this remix, has to be in my top 10 of all time.
Man, I wish I could go back to UT3 days, those intense matches, TDM, DM, CTF, VCTF, and where all the trash talking got settled.. DUEL. Beautiful soundtrack and stages too.
Yeah, my favorite soundtrucks are from Unreal GOTY99 and NFS : High Stakes. Period between 1997-2004 maybe are best years for video game industry. A good technological leap with great Enthusiasm of developers.
@SpongeSlav BlyatPants , don't you know? When Fortnite became successful, they canceled UT4 for no reason other than "we don't care anymore, now our cashcow is the only thing that interests us". They didn't even need any developers, just one guy to check and accept new content, the game was being developed by fan community. And it took them a long time even to officially declare the game canceled, long after it stopped being updated, this is how much they don't give a spit. P. S. Regarding your nickname: watch a video called ""Russian Gopnik" Responds To My Video" by NFKRZ.
So much stuff that Rom di Prisco has done is absolutely timeless, and it sounds modern now, and probably will sound modern in 50 years. Some of the Late 90s tracks, especially from Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit and Need for Speed: High Stakes are just... words can't describe the feeling of joy and getting lost in the sound. And also, I'll plug Saki Kaskas's (RIP) Callista in here. That one is probably the best of them all.
Back in 2000-1, my mom used to work for a Wizards of the Coast store (yes, they had stores) in a mall. As her kids, my sister and I got to have unlimited time on the LAN they had set up for guests to try computer games before they bought them. Oh. So. Much. Facing Worlds.
Absolute BEST theme from Unreal that contains the Amen Break! No doubt. Not only props to Michael van Den Bos, but also to the Winstons for being famously associated with that sampled drum loop.
Hey friend! Common misconception: this isn't the Amen Break. The Amen Break is a 1-measure loop (if you count each downbeat, you can count to four one time) from that Winstons song. This is an 8-measure loop, much more intricate, and made exclusively for this song by MvdB. It uses a pitched up snare and cymbal that makes it sound like other DnB uses of the Amen Break, but if you listen closely to them side by side, you'll hear entirely different pieces of music. Cheers!
@mikechurvis9995 Incorrect. The Amen Break is a 4 measure drumloop in a total of about 6 seconds. The measure you mentioned is only ONE PART of that loop. Take a listen to "Amen Brother" by the Winstons and you'll see what I mean. The Amen Break in this particular song (and in the original version of Foregone Destruction) was sliced and rearranged many different times to make it 8 measures. In the umx file, there are 2 sampled loops of that same Amen Break (but in different types of arrangements of it); however, they are both just rearranged to be put together in that song.
I love playing titanfall 2 to this and especially ejecting and then falling back to the surface to this, specifically the part that begins at 3:40....it sounds like you’re descending at that point, so fits perfectly.
This song is burned in my brain from playing the original UNREAL TOURNAMENT in 1999. Instagib-CTF matches in "Facing Worlds," oh how I miss thee. Fond memories. Nowadays... don't do online gaming. "Grew out of it." If you can't relate to that, perfectly OK, life has chapters, just the ways things are.
