The original creator of this track is the Finnish Peter Hajba (known as Skaven) member of the popular demogroup Future Crew in the 90's now disbanded. He has made music and sound for games like Bejelewed (Candy Crush predecessor) and Max Payne. He's not very active but he made some damn good works that he published on his webpage.
Unreal Tournament 99 was truly at the pinnacle of FPS gaming for the time it was released, not only for gameplay but for the music and background as well. Such an in depth and wholesome game that very few have since achieved or even come close to in terms of fulfillment and satisfaction on an overall level. Truly one of the most special games to have grown up with from a young childhood to adulthood, if I could ever relive and experience anew it would be without a doubt this masterpiece of a game.
I still have it, and even though i have to play with bots, i know that this game will probably outlive halo, call of duty, pubg, and loads of other games too.
Listening to this makes the hairs at the back of my neck stand up… takes me straight back to 1999/2000. I’m not sure the games of today, bar a small handful, could ever evoke in me an emotional response in the same way.
Today's gaming generation will not understand the wild joy and mayhem fragging an enemy with a flak cannon while this music is blasting on the background
