Being the survivor of recent Indian heat, I can tell that it's not the hot days that are unbearable but it's the humid days which is fatal. There's also incursion of humidity in places which earlier remained relatively drier. Altogether, I can see a severe future of climatic conditions in my country unless there is rapid population control, ban on concretisation, increase in forest cover, pollution control among others.
Usually in India high humidity levels are observed in monsoon months but in those months temperatures rarely exceed 35-36 degrees. So not sure what you are talking about.
@thecomment9489 I am talking about wet bulb temperature. It's being experienced in cities. Moreover, we are experiencing early moisture incursion into places far away from coast before the start of monsoon. Like, my city used to be hot but relatively drier during May-June months, now for last many years it's extremely humid during these months too.
You are wrong, trees have a local impact. Trees give off moisture via a process known as evapotranspiration and this cools down the surrounding air. And of course trees provide shade for the humans but also for the soil and walls and everything. The temperature is significantly cooler in streets with trees.

I was in Kerala, South of Trivandrum on the beach this past March. It was staying at 26-28 C at night for the low. It can be difficult for the body to cool down when it stays hot at night. I have noticed this increase of low temperatures now for the past several years.
