- Daulatdia is an entire village in Bangladesh dedicated to prostitution. Every day, 1,600 trafficked, enslaved and abandoned women and girls sell themselves for £2 a time.

It is so sad to know that she will probably never no where her home is.
The worst part about this being from a Bangladeshi heritage is that I know that she most likely wouldn’t be accepted back by her family/village after finding out the work field she was in (even though she was kidnapped and forced). They would probably disown her. Might be sad but it’s the truth.

In the US it’s 16. In Germany, Austria and other european/western countries it’s 14 years, but the age gap shouldn’t be more than 3 years. Maybe it’s similar in Bangladesh, but nobody cares.

Honestly, I don't think so. It takes a lot of time and money to care for a child and I doubt someone would take all of that on just to get a small check in the future. I think they pointed out the alcohol and drug problems to show what people need to deal with everything.

We all as children had this ignorance to the responsibilities and worries of the world around us. Calling it "strength" is just misleading and not giving enough credit to their actual situation, which is, them not knowing better. That's way worse.
When you refer to a Child of her age as she's somehow not able to distinguish between right and wrong and in fact being ignorant to the environment that they live, I think that you give him too little credit. When they experience traumatic events as effect to violence, separation from family, sexual abuse etc. they also build up resilience that is scientific proven to be found in childrens behavior at early ages. At The same time, they can develop a mental health issue when they're older or they can develop anxiety that is usually manifested as worry or somatic issue as abdominal pain or headache. What I find it really, really beautiful in this Child behavior is his coping mechanism and that is the thing that I pointed out. I don't simplify things to that point that you're refering at.

They dont see value or worth in the women in a genuine way.

Every time I watch documentaries like these, I will forever be grateful that I was fortunate enough that I have never experienced such heart-wrenching situations. My heart goes out to all the women / girls who have experienced that.

The infrastructure and all that needs to improve first so that communities that become like this can be properly shut down.

This hurts me so much to watch. The fact I can understand what they're saying (as I am originally from Bangladesh) makes it feel all the more real for me and makes it hit home. Knowing that I've lived a relatively privileged life in the UK while these children are having to grow up in the most awful environments, having to witness or be surrounded by the most awful things. Meanwhile in bangladesh, even in the most affluent parts of the capital city you can see poverty everywhere. It's largely an issue of overpopulation.

I’m so afraid the auntie is keeping the girl out of school to start grooming her to bring in money, as she’s ten and almost at puberty. I pray that isn’t the case, but if she (“auntie”) has drug and alcohol problems and isn’t able to think straight, she may care more about money (bc these people are in poverty and she doesn’t just need money for food and things, she needs it for her drugs and alcohol too. I don’t blame her- it’s definitely understandable. She’s almost the same age as me (which is a young adult) and has been working as a prostitute for 15 years or better. I truly can’t even imagine and I give these women so much credit. Especially her, who seems to be continuing prostituting herself so that she can keep her daughter safe in a nearby village and pay for school and food and all that. I know she doesn’t have many other options, but still, that’s as selfless as you can get, if you ask me.
