Thanks for sharing this content I learned about some amazing hikes. While not a tall, long or strenuous hike, Sandstone Peak which stands 3K feet above the Malibu area in SoCal is noteworthy. There’s a 6 mile loop via the Mishe Mokwa trail that provides a neat experience up to the peak. Many very experienced hikers and local wannabes all have it highly ranked. The Coastal and Valley views from the peak on a clear day are breathtaking. You can also grab lunch and a cold beer at the locally famous Neptunes Net restaurant nearby after the hike for a truly great experience
Have you done the west coast trail on Vancouver Island? I'm looking for a good trip for my 40th birthday this year and I'm going to look into the 40-mile Timberline trail so thanks for the recommendation!

the west highland trail is on my bucket list, hopefully next year
