First of all, they should have named the movie "Kung fu kid", would have made much more sense... a f**king KARATE KID remake without any karate in it🤦. The teacher/student relationship between Jaden Smith and Jackie Chan is as deep as a puddle compared to the one that Pat Morita had with Ralph Maccio, that's just like a cheap copy of the "true karate duo", it lacks deepness and seems a bit forced, and no one can "act" real sympathy🥱. Sadly Pat passed away years ago, it would have been awesome to see him in cobra kai😔. The only good thing is the truly amazing fight-choreography, with those 180°-360° spinning/jumping frontkicks, backflips, a flying triangular takedown, jumping back kicks, a tornado kick etc... but that alone is not enough for over two hours running time. Imho the movie isn't nearly as good as the original, it lacks chemistry between the actors and there are no plot twists or changes from the original, except the age of the main character, the country and, of course, the martial arts. Why using KUNG FU in a KARATE KID movie? I still can't understand that...

He literally found balance before his sensei did. He obviously still has much to learn, since he's only been training for a few months probably. However, balance is probably the hardest part to learn. Sure, he helped his Sensei come to terms with what happened, but I doubt he fully got over it.
When I was kid in the early 90s I competed in a couple of tae kwon do tournaments. We wore hand foot and head gear and strikes to the head were penalized. Why does Hollywood insist on glorifying child endangerment like this?

I just dont see how a teacher would ever be permitted to be involved in competitions again if he intentionally sent students out to injure other fighters. Seems like Cheng would earn a DQ and the teacher would have to find a new career, something that is compatible with a limp
