I'm not a martial artist but it looks to me as if Mr. Collins and Mr. Yen are very skilled. Mr Collins looks like too much of a nice guy to be a villian. This was a delight to watch. Thank you
Donnie Yen, who'd co-acted with Wu Jing (aka Jacky Wu) in 'Kill Zone', both came from martial arts families. Donnie's mother Mark Bow-sim is a martial arts grandmaster & has a martial arts training school in the US. As small kids, Donnie & his sister Chris Yen learnt martial arts from their mother. Bow-sim is now semi-retired & her daughter Chris & a senior disciple took over the training. Donnie's parents sent him to train with the world-renowned Beijing Wushu Team when he was 16, where he met Jet Li who also trained there. After that, he went to Hong Kong & trained under Yuen Woo-ping who's the eldest son of the late Yuen Siu-tien. Siu-tien was one of the top 10 greatest martial artists of his time. Jackie Chan catapulted to international fame after co-acting with Siu-tien in the 1978 classic movie 'Drunken Master' which was directed by Woo-ping. Woo-ping was also involved in some Hollywood productions in which he choreographed the fight scenes.
The scene has simple but excellent storytelling. I really like how each master does a little better than the previous one until he is ultimately surpassed. You can even feel the antagonist being nervous when he struggles to put the lady away. Great job by everybody.
Surely Donnie has portrayed Ip Man better than anyone and it is an absolute pleasure to watch him do what he does. Every fight scene is just a pure gem. Never gets old or boring. But in this scene, I would like to say that when Xiaofei Zhou enters the pit, it gives me the chills. They should have given her more time and kicking ass a lot more before she goes down. She is so charismatic on screen. She is indeed a phenomenal martial artist in real life and a national champion.
After seeing other people's comments I decided to check and Chris's movements made much more sense. His karate blocks were closer to the body than Goju Ryu or Shotokan and felt more akin to Wing Chun, even when the form is flawless. His delivery is excellent and I honestly cant imagine how many takes it took to perform the flying kick takedown. Great job. Simply great.
@@SifuChrisCollins Holy, just three takes. That's amazing. It goes to show how good martial artists are on picking up timing for the technique and proper form, because the position of the back leg is pretty much text book. Your disciples are very fortunate.

I had stayed away from Martial Arts for a good decade, and now coming back to it because of WC and especially watching incredible performances by artists as yourself and Donnie Yen. I hope you do get to work with him again, as your fight scene is one of my favorites. Thanks Chris!
Hi Chris, I look forward to a breakdown video. I've obviously seen your hand speed in your videos, especially on the wooden dummy. I'd like to know the challenges with reducing the mini-pauses on many of the strikes/blocks.
Very good question. It’s a real thing 😂😂😂
Отличный боец браво 👍👍👍

@@SifuChrisCollins was shooting this with donnie yen fun?
Absolutely. He’s a good guy.
I darn near choked on my soda when you said Yellow Bitches and the delivery in which you delivered the line was great. You are a great actor and a great martial artist. Keep it up
Exactly. He portrayed the racism perfectly lol.
It was not easy.
He called the Chinese Yellow Bichtes but he's clearly half asian! We can see how americans and japanese used to treat the Chinese back in da days.
Btw the lady fight intro and exchange of words with opponent.. give off a mortally kombaf character interaction!!! Fire!!🔥 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥😎😎😎😎😎
Never knew Chris also trained in karate . His moves looks great .
Thank you but I never trained Karate. I worked hard to make it seem like that for the role.
@@SifuChrisCollins great acting then. Look so real . Especially the karate kicks. I think your moves were way better than that dude that played Bruce Lee . Your punches and kicks were way cleaner and clearer .
@@SifuChrisCollins why in this they speak different languages but can understand each other
Amazing fight choreography, you can tell everyone involved really knew their shit.
Amazing karate Chris. At least you got 3 of em lol
😂😂😂 thank you 🙏🏼
Eu acho esse estilo do Ip muito foda. O cara tenta manter a calma até em momentos como esse. Incrivel ❤.

It's sad to see ip man getting older and weaker.. He was such a badass in the 1st ip man film.. He was on another level.. But now he has slowed due to old age
Imperfection
and he also got shot in the ip man 1 .. back then he didn't get hit ...
ip man 2 was still badass tho and ip man 3 went toe to toe with mike tyson

Eh Frater is something like Miura's level, their fight is kinda simiilar.
Nice End fight. Very well all the Artists.
Is it just me who gets goosebumps whenever Donnie yen steps into a fight? 😁😁
me too
Love it how he's never puffing and beats the crap outa the other guy hahaha 😆
The first three masters loose the fight to arouse interest of viewers in the fight
Ip Man 4 é tão emocionante quanto o primeiro, sensacional!

nota dez para o mestre ipman não a lutador melhor que o mestre ipman 😮😮😮😮
Excellent 👍💯
I like how Chris does it, he shows no mercy
Cobra Kai never dies 🤣
I like this scene. I like this scene a LOT. Collins starts off with -great- form, and I appreciate the fights work in sequence through fundamentals: power, techniques, throws. The lady master crushed it, and I appreciate 2:52 shows how to minimize a hit while taking it. 5:33 is the moment I knew he'd 'lost': Lost form, got sloppy, guards low all around (getting beat up and mad will do that to you)
Question for chris! Intentional choreography, or not?
Captures the feeling of rushing in JUST ever so -off- perfectly.
if it was a boxing match, coach would be in a corner shakin' his head goin' guard up, man, guard up.
Thanks for the comment. Good eye, yes I have to try and show the toll it takes to fight and the fatigue. Eventually succumbing to it.
¡Mis felicitacions a estos caballeros por su demostracion en las artes marciales gracias!👌😊

One of the best ever, full stop. Zhou Xiaofei's Xing Yi Quan is freaking unbelievable.
People like him that Use MMA as a Offensive Bullying Fighting technique are one of the reasons why Martial Arts even exists
