  • ONE UNDER - BLUES AND TWOS
    Narrated by Laurie Mayer
In 2020 we thanked the NHS for their efforts in combating the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic yet everyday the emergency services deal with various traumatic events, which although they can be trained for, the individual scenarios they face are totally unique.
In this except from Carlton Television's 'Blues and Twos' we witness first hand the combined effort made by both the London Fire Brigade, London Ambulance Service, British Transport Police and the little known Emergency Response Unit of London Underground as they work to rescue someone who has been hit by a train.
The programme focuses mainly on the role played by the London Ambulance Service and contains footage that some viewers may find upsetting.
Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, incidents of trespass and suicide on UK railways has sadly continued.
This video is presented here as a tribute to the everyday heroics of our NHS and ALL of our amazing emergency services.
Blues and Twos remains copyright Zenith North Limited and Carlton Television 1997 and is presented here for educational purposes only.

I’ve never been in a one under and I’m glad I’m not part of one because the gap between the trains underside and the track is so small

Fortunately, I haven’t been a part of a one under yet and I hope I never encounter one.

This is nothing to do with COVID-19 or the pandemic, load of bollocks your description, this was filmed in 1997 and aired around 1998.

I swear. The absolute state of it. Even by looking at the train, you would know thos was filmed in the 90s. Those trains went out of service over 2 decades ago.

The 1973 stock is still running on the Piccadilly line, the only difference is a refurbishment. They're not due to be replaced for a few more years

@benalowery Yeah that's what I meant. The train isn't painted with the white and blue colour with the doors also not painted red.
Last time I saw it once the refurbishmentments had finished was in 1999.
