Cyan is goat FF6. My favorite. My party consisted of Cyan and 3 empty spaces. Helps to use game genie/pro actionreplay cheat '0 xp per battle' so you can start stat stacking when you get +2 mag/str/speed espers. Also makes the game frustratingly hard late game when you're level 9.
If Square did a remake of VI in full 3D for the complete game in one go, i personally would go buy whatever it was being released on just for that one game, even if it screwed my finances for a year.
Final Fantasy VI was my first Final Fantasy game, and it is still, far and away, my favorite among a series I love much. I fell in love with these characters and with this world as a child, and I would absolutely be ecstatic to see a remake like this for real. Thank you so much for sharing!
Not sure about this one but I believe there's more of a chance for FFVI to be remade than FFIX. I just can't see FFIX ever being remade and to be honest I hope it never does
Seeing Kefka in high quality 3d really makes me wish thats what he looked like in Dissidia NT the smile on his face is so menacing it would give the Joker a run for his money
Technically FFI,II, III and IV have their definitive remakes (on the PSP and DS no less). What we are missing is some quality V and VI remakes, be it 2D HD or 3D.
Because everyone keeps saying how 7 was the best when honestly sephiroth had weak priorities. Other villains focused on destroying dimensions and practically all of existence. But he just wanted to destroy the world.

They tried the movie thing twice and an anime once. One movie bombed so bad they had to sell a studio to break even. The anime series was just ... no. Advent Children did okay but not good enough to justify more.
@@wrathshorts2894 all media they tried was mild aproximations. first movie got the name of final fantasy and thats all it have of ff. movie for ffxv wasn't bad but the world was so big the movie felt like nothing. and the world in ff xv game wasn't expanded enough, i mean at the level of the lore the created. the anime series was a joke, tried to expand char development and that's it. in all media they miss the tone, the final fantasy themes, etc. mild approaches to fullfill nothing. a ff vi adaptation 1:1 in this fashion or anime or 3d anime like the dragon quest movie on netflix would do sex to me. at this point i don't trust squareenix to be able to remake ffvi without turning into some garbage like vii remakes ( yes, garbage) they missed, again, the tone and all that make the og vii great.

It being a Final Fantasy movie I expected more magic and swordplay, but the story was pretty decent and a nod to the Lifestream from FFVII.

It does look amazing but with so many different places TO FILL…I’m always scared of the amount of pointless things they’d introduce that would change the overall feel of the game, just like the FF7 remake

I wish I could go back and play this for the first time. I was nine the year this game released and got it for Christmas from my grandparents who had no idea what they had done. It took me about three years to beat this game because I was young and got lost often. No internet and no strategy guide. Stumbling upon the Ancient Castle and getting rocked by Samurai Soul…oh the nostalgia.
I think ffvi is probably the magnus opus of the entire series and ffx is my favorite. Something about this game in particular screams master piece category. If there's a remake, with incredible writing, visuals and score. This game could become cinema.

I'm pretty sure they are aware. A lot of the Square Enix staff are in agreement that this is the remake they want to see next and FF6 is one of the most talked about iterations of Final Fantasy- (plus the second highest sold out of the first 6) They probably just don't want to get all their big guns out all at once with FF7 taking centrestage right now. If they did, they might end up blowing it from a commercial standing point.
They know how loved the game is, I think even one of SE directors said it'd take 25years or more to fully remake it 😅 I'd be 57 or older by the time they'd have done it if they started today haha
Square could imagine a remake of FF6, so the idea is not off the table.... it would just be quite complex to make it in a form like the FF7 remake. Currently, work is underway on the third and final part of the FF7 Remake series.

This game has done so much for my childhood. Replaying the pixel version taught me it was more than just nostalgia. I would do almost do anything for a Offical Remake of this.

Hell, there's probably an actual fart machine out there so my farts aren't even that special. Ff6 deserves the ff7 remake treatment. I dont know if it could even be pulled off with how massive it would be. It could still all be turn based but this fidelity and atmosphere shown here is epic and awesome. Would love it.
@@johnnyrogers8866 i love the new hybrid system in Remake and Rebirth. If you want a fresh replay of OG ff7 i HIGHLY recommend modding the PC version with the new threat 2.0 mod and updating all of the visuals. It makes the game an 11/10.
@@johnnyrogers8866 no problem, there are videos on youtube explaining how to set it up and going through the latest mods. You can do true widescreen now, HD graphics, 60 fps, ambient noise and shadows, new character models that look like the original nomura concept art, and have analog controller support for movement. Then the new threat 2.0 revamps the ENTIRE itemization and magic system with new mechanics, items, spells, gear, enemies and bosses. Each character also has an innate ability and secondary leveling system for stats in order to specialize them. Im telling you its great. There's also an Echo-S mod that voice acts the entire game. You cannot use the new threat mod with this one, but you can use all the visual enhancements. Enjoy!
@@blackjaguar324 Yeah zero creativity on the AI. That's not Setzer that's much closer to Sephiroth. Sometimes the AI impresses, sometimes it completely whiffs and turns Setzer into Sephiroth.
@@blackjaguar324 Sephiroth is a re-design of Setzer 😂Setzer was thought to be the bad guy at first. A traitor. But, in the end, Square recycled that role for Sephiroth and kept Setzer's look for him. They just modifyed his clothes and hairstyle a bit. I played FF6 before FF7 and always thought "why does Sephiroth looks like a copy of Setzer". Until I found the reason why xD.
Setzer has numerous facial scars, something that Sephiroth has none. Character wise one is a romantic and the other is a cloned psychopath, so what did they copy? White hair? They have like 50 of those.

Mog and Gogo make my heart burst with joy! Shadow looked pretty cool, too. Well, only Terra was less than super awesome, but she was still squarely in the "awesome" side of things 💖
It's my favorite game of all time, but I pray that Squeenix just forgets about it and never touches it again. They'd turn the game into a multi-part cash cow fiasco like they did to FFVII and prey on everyone's nostalgia for greed. The company hasn't been legendary in over 20 years, and modern-day Squeenix can't be relied upon to handle this game in a responsible way. People like to throw the word masterpiece around liberally, but this game is one of the very few in history that's ever earned the title, and it deserves more than the company can give.

FFVI is my favorite Final Fantasy and I have been wishing for a proper remake instead of another port for at least a decade. This gives me goosebumps. Kefka had far greater depth than Sephiroth as a villain. FF7 was a great game, and I'm enjoying the remake and it's tweaks to the story. MAN I wish this was real!
Be careful what you wish for. We may well get a FFVI remake down the road with the addition plot ghosts, while fighting against fate and destiny in multiverse plots.
Remaking this game 3d would be so unbearably difficult. It would be like recreating a city using a model except the model is bigger than the city itself
I stared in raptured awe at what was on screen then showed it to my wife in glee only to be deflated when she had no reaction and said that the music didn't match what was on screen... because she never played the game. But her minor error aside, it is truly glorious.

THiS! This fan-made trailer deserves high praise! Not ashamed to say it brought a tear to my eye. Back in January, it didn't actually bother me when director Yoshinori Kitase announced a FFVI Remake was unlikely, since it would take 20 years to make. That was to be expected for FFVI - and, to some extent, Chrono Trigger as well. But now, having watched this trailer, I realise just what we might be missing. It's like never having had any children, but at the same time seeing what each of them would have become. Such a bittersweet feeling…
Forget about game programming, which is a different beast; but this shows that well-guided AI might disrupt the entirr animation business. Milllions will lose their jobs.
people love to trash on AI, but without AI we would've never seen this. we would've never seen just how BEAUTIFUL this looks. because there's no guarentee square enix will ever make a remake out of this masterpiece, even though the fans have been begging for YEARS

@@Yohan0xx Nah. FF6 is definitely one of the most requested, and Square said that it's very possible but that would take them more than a decade of planning and development just like how it was for FF7R.

Well, the ditched the ATB system for some hybrid pseudo-western system. No wonder it didn't sell. Square's been riding the high-fi graphics and suffering from a Western RPG inferiority complex for roughly 15 years. Now a miss by Square Enix is a fairly good game, but Square lost the lead on what made them great in the first place.

Final Fantasy 9 haa been my first and favorite entry of the series, but the turn based battle system is slow and dull as fuck. Hence, 2x speed. It can also be exploited by opening a menu window to prevent the enemy from getting a turn while you watch your animations play out. And yet, this is the peak of rpgs? Of Final Fantasy? Not the story? The world building? The characters? No, the turn based ATB battle system is what made every Final fantasy fan over the age of 30 shit themselves in rage over?

X had some complicated turn based system, XII was ATB but played like an MMORPG, and from there the trend went towards favoring higher skilled based play, blurring the lines between western adventure RPGs and JRPGs. Meanwhile, Altis has released Personas 3, 4, 5, and SMT 4 & 5. And the JRPG community is eating up what Altis is cooking. If SqEnix is going to remake Final Fantasy games, they would do good to remember what made them fun the first time, instead of succumbing to their inferiority complex. Doing things halfway usually pleases no one, so a Western RPG a la Dark Souls\Elden Ring with some JRPG elements is going to be too weird and gimmicky for the players of those 'skill-matters' kind of games. Meanwhile JRPG gamers may not have the twitch reflexes say a Breath of Wild asks for - we normally just scroll through a short menu and push select!
Imho ff6 had such an impact because players had to use their imagination instead of just watching rendered cutscenes. The storytelling was awesome. It doesnt need a remake.
Now, if only this remake was an old-school ATB game. Doesn't have to our heros fighting in a line; it could just as easily be implemented Chrono Trigger\Crisis style on the dungeon map.
FF6 is one of my all time favorite rpgs which is why I'm tentative on any prospect of remaking it. I really don't want to see it recieve the anime inspired look that permeates the FF series because of 7. There's something special about Yoshitaka Amano's art and the painterly quality of the enemy designs that would just be lost if it got the FF7 remake treatment.

They tried the movie thing twice and an anime once. One movie bombed so bad they had to sell a studio to break even. The anime series was just ... no. Advent Children did okay but not good enough to justify more.

It being a Final Fantasy movie I expected more magic and swordplay, but the story was pretty decent and a nod to the Lifestream from FFVII.

I wish I could go back and play this for the first time. I was nine the year this game released and got it for Christmas from my grandparents who had no idea what they had done. It took me about three years to beat this game because I was young and got lost often. No internet and no strategy guide. Stumbling upon the Ancient Castle and getting rocked by Samurai Soul…oh the nostalgia.
I think ffvi is probably the magnus opus of the entire series and ffx is my favorite. Something about this game in particular screams master piece category. If there's a remake, with incredible writing, visuals and score. This game could become cinema.
FFX could have been a true masterpiece if not for some glaring flaws, like grindy optional content and poor voice direction.
I actually really love the look of Cyan and Strago in this.
Cyan looked fucking awesome and he isn’t my favorite character or anything, just a really perfect HD translation from his sprite and the moustache is epic.

I'm pretty sure they are aware. A lot of the Square Enix staff are in agreement that this is the remake they want to see next and FF6 is one of the most talked about iterations of Final Fantasy- (plus the second highest sold out of the first 6)
They probably just don't want to get all their big guns out all at once with FF7 taking centrestage right now. If they did, they might end up blowing it from a commercial standing point.

Square could imagine a remake of FF6, so the idea is not off the table.... it would just be quite complex to make it in a form like the FF7 remake.

Hell, there's probably an actual fart machine out there so my farts aren't even that special. It sounds inefficient to train humans or expect humans to be capable of art, since it's all subjective anyways. Guess what? Art isn't special and the 'talent' artists have is replaceable and emulatable. Regardless of how you feel those are the facts. People are making millions off splashes of paint a toddler could make, Art isn't prestigious. Get a better hobby. I'm a fire performer, and I'd cheer on a machine that was made to twirl and spin fire better than I ever could. I would still spin fire for myself because I do it for fun. I'd only be minorly affected that a machine does what I can better. Artists and performers need to get over their disgusting bloated egos and realize their talents are subjective and not as unique as they'd have you believe.

@@johnnyrogers8866 i love the new hybrid system in Remake and Rebirth. If you want a fresh replay of OG ff7 i HIGHLY recommend modding the PC version with the new threat 2.0 mod and updating all of the visuals. It makes the game an 11/10.

You can do true widescreen now, HD graphics, 60 fps, ambient noise and shadows, new character models that look like the original nomura concept art, and have analog controller support for movement. Then the new threat 2.0 revamps the ENTIRE itemization and magic system with new mechanics, items, spells, gear, enemies and bosses. Each character also has an innate ability and secondary leveling system for stats in order to specialize them.
Im telling you its great.
There's also an Echo-S mod that voice acts the entire game. You cannot use the new threat mod with this one, but you can use all the visual enhancements.

@@blackjaguar324 Yeah zero creativity on the AI. That's not Setzer that's much closer to Sephiroth. Sometimes the AI impresses, sometimes it completely whiffs and turns Setzer into Sephiroth.
@@blackjaguar324 Sephiroth is a re-design of Setzer 😂Setzer was thought to be the bad guy at first. A traitor. But, in the end, Square recycled that role for Sephiroth and kept Setzer's look for him. They just modifyed his clothes and hairstyle a bit.
I played FF6 before FF7 and always thought "why does Sephiroth looks like a copy of Setzer". Until I found the reason why xD.
Setzer has numerous facial scars, something that Sephiroth has none. Character wise one is a romantic and the other is a cloned psychopath, so what did they copy? White hair? They have like 50 of those.

It's my favorite game of all time, but I pray that Squeenix just forgets about it and never touches it again.
They'd turn the game into a multi-part cash cow fiasco like they did to FFVII and prey on everyone's nostalgia for greed.
The company hasn't been legendary in over 20 years, and modern-day Squeenix can't be relied upon to handle this game in a responsible way.
People like to throw the word masterpiece around liberally, but this game is one of the very few in history that's ever earned the title, and it deserves more than the company can give.

FFVI is my favorite Final Fantasy and I have been wishing for a proper remake instead of another port for at least a decade. This gives me goosebumps. Kefka had far greater depth than Sephiroth as a villain. FF7 was a great game, and I'm enjoying the remake and it's tweaks to the story. MAN I wish this was real!
Be careful what you wish for. We may well get a FFVI remake down the road with the addition plot ghosts, while fighting against fate and destiny in multiverse plots.

Back in January, it didn't actually bother me when director Yoshinori Kitase announced a FFVI Remake was unlikely, since it would take 20 years to make. That was to be expected for FFVI - and, to some extent, Chrono Trigger as well.
But now, having watched this trailer, I realise just what we might be missing. It's like never having had any children, but at the same time seeing what each of them would have become. Such a bittersweet feeling…

Nah. FF6 is definitely one of the most requested, and Square said that it's very possible but that would take them more than a decade of planning and development just like how it was for FF7R.
This is my favorite thing AI has ever created. My favorite FF game brought to this kind of life would be a dream come true. Hell I’d be happy if could at least get an anime show with ten episodes with this right here.

Well, the ditched the ATB system for some hybrid pseudo-western system. No wonder it didn't sell. Square's been riding the high-fi graphics and suffering from a Western RPG inferiority complex for roughly 15 years. Now a miss by Square Enix is a fairly good game, but Square lost the lead on what made them great in the first place.
@wingnut2292 ah yes, what made square famous years and years ago was a slow turn based game mechanic. Final Fantasy 9 haa been my first and favorite entry of the series, but the turn based battle system is slow and dull as fuck. Hence, 2x speed. It can also be exploited by opening a menu window to prevent the enemy from getting a turn while you watch your animations play out.
And yet, this is the peak of rpgs? Of Final Fantasy? Not the story? The world building? The characters? No, the turn based ATB battle system is what made every Final fantasy fan over the age of 30 shit themselves in rage over?
@@spccew9818 well after IX it all started going down hill. X had some complicated turn based system, XII was ATB but played like an MMORPG, and from there the trend went towards favoring higher skilled based play, blurring the lines between western adventure RPGs and JRPGs.
Meanwhile, Altis has released Personas 3, 4, 5, and SMT 4 & 5. And the JRPG community is eating up what Altis is cooking. If SqEnix is going to remake Final Fantasy games, they would do good to remember what made them fun the first time, instead of succumbing to their inferiority complex. Doing things halfway usually pleases no one, so a Western RPG a la Dark Souls\Elden Ring with some JRPG elements is going to be too weird and gimmicky for the players of those 'skill-matters' kind of games. Meanwhile JRPG gamers may not have the twitch reflexes say a Breath of Wild asks for - we normally just scroll through a short menu and push select!

Life was simple.
Imho ff6 had such an impact because players had to use their imagination instead of just watching rendered cutscenes. The storytelling was awesome. It doesnt need a remake.
Now, if only this remake was an old-school ATB game. Doesn't have to our heros fighting in a line; it could just as easily be implemented Chrono Trigger\Crisis style on the dungeon map.

FF6 is one of my all time favorite rpgs which is why I'm tentative on any prospect of remaking it.
I really don't want to see it recieve the anime inspired look that permeates the FF series because of 7. There's something special about Yoshitaka Amano's art and the painterly quality of the enemy designs that would just be lost if it got the FF7 remake treatment.
