Do not hire Patrick Viera. He has been terrible as a manager. His Palace Team was awful and could not even get a shot on goal for three straight games. Worse, the team got better after Viera was fired. His Nice team was also bad and got better after he left. Worse, scoring goals is important in international football, and his career average goals per game is a horrific 1.13 games per game. I would rather hire our U19 coach, Micheal Nsian. If we cannot get Poch, or someone of that ilk, at least his teams are dropping tons of goals on lesser teams.
USMNT Team in the Olympics have 3 tough opponents. Both France and Guinee play mostly the style as mots Guinee Players play in France/Europe. New Zealand has progressed and they will be physical, kinda like Canada. But the US team can win against any of them including France, if they play well.
One problem for Freddy Adu was he looked good at youth level because his muscles developed earlier than the other kids when he was at youth level, then in the pros that advantage was gone, I saw a similar thing when I was in school (im English so it's the English school system) in year 7 (first year of high school) we had a lad called Mike, in cross country he'd win by miles, in year 11 (last year of high school) everyone elses muscles had developed more (Mike was still the same as ever fitness wise) but several lads had overtaken him
@@1972fantomas I think that was part of it for sure, it was too much, too young, im not saying his physical advantage dissipating was the only reason, but I think it was part of it, there's several reasons he never reached the heights that were predicted
@@Killumin I agree it was too much too young for Adu, I don't think the physical advantage dissipating was the only reason, but i think it was part of it, there's several reasons why it went the way it did
USWNT can win the Gold Metal, but this is a new generation of young players who have not yet had the right start compared to previous World Cup Champion USWNT generations. The Coach is also new, for me if they get to the Final, that's a success with every thing on the table to prove they're worthy at the next World Cup. Anything less that let's say Bronze Metal is a failure for this USWNT, they have the Talent to beat lots of good National Team. Last world cup they really didn't know the world had come up in the level, now they now, and they still have the superiority to make things happen in Paris. The Coach is good but everything still up there, they have to get things ready. You can't be the World Cup Champion several times but start to say the World has come up we will settle for 4th place at the Olympics, makes no sense. Great young players who need to show they're hungry for titles, no time better than now. The Rest of the world has come, that's true... but not to the point you thing. You can still beat Spain Sweden etc.. even if they're good now. You simply have to get ready to play tough games and win them with grit
The new coach should be able to explain how does a 16 year old can start for the European Championship Spanish team and why the US can never attain that talent.
Highlights: Alexi is sceptical of a European hire for manager because they may know futbol but they just cannot and do not understand soccer. If you want a serial winner Alexi like peter vemeers. If you willing to go without international experience Curtain, or Cherundelo is his pick He feels that if we dont get American manager and new young players ussf has failed. Which hurts him so much hes willing to force square pegs into round holes to make America great. But he cares about the image of USA more than actually winning. He has to win "the right way". He wont say but hiring a British GM probably chapped his hide. For MLS. Alexis brilliant take. Miami is good without messi. They are a great team. He doesnt mention that they have 3 more of the top ten players in the league and spend ten times more than any other team. But he believes the future is bright. But would never compare it to the ny cosmos of nasl because that would look bad for his beloved mls. He berates fans for an inferiority complex with us soccer which is one of the finest examples of psychological projection ive ever witnessed. And because freddy adu is still being talked about he had a successful career per Alexi. He alos thinks that both LA teams should always be atop the western conference, and if not something is wrong. Im gone, cant take anymore.
Certain 14 year old that may rise up. Watching the u20's males mentealize that that certain 14 year old could be not only playing but one of the players in that team.
Alexi pining for the garbage MLS American coach. American soccer is what it is because we get the worst coaches. Why would you want to get another terrible coach from America? His thought process sometimes makes absolutely no sense and is a reason why US soccer will always be inferior to every other country, including Panama smh. Would be like the NBA looking for coaches in Europe over American coaches. Makes ZERO sense…
I vote for any Coach who wasn’t developed through the broken and useless US Soccer system…. Anyone…. It’s the same reason most Americans won’t vote for a career politician for president- THE SYSTEM IS BROKEN AND PRODUCES GARBAGE
I don’t know why you brought politics into this, but most Americans DO vote for career politicians, as most presidents have been just that. There is literally one in office as we speak, not to mention the non-politician Republican candidate has lost two consecutive popular votes. Edit: nvm, it was clearly Alexi who brought politics into this lol

Who's ready for the Olympics??
Me
the Olympics.... meh, it is probably still a big deal for the women but for the men Olympics Soccer/Football is a bit .....meh
No one cares about mans Olympics in football ⚽ . Bunch of kids running around, all legends skip the sweatfest
@zeo4481 don't complain then if the team doesn't win a medal.
Ready!

We might have good players, but it doesn't matter if they can't play as a team
Agreed terrible team play
She is right! They went toe to toe as underdogs vs Spain, Belgium.

This aged poorly
I don't want any coach under the thumb of MLS.

really???? it was more of his mentality fame got to him.
No. He never got the basic tactics because he was promoted pass the level where it's taught

For the next world cup, we will need new goalkeepers and a center defender.
Agreed that’s what the Olympics is atleast on the GK end. Examining a suitable replacement
Why would Luis de La Fuente leave Spain after winning the euros and headed into the 2026 WC being one of the favorites?
The problems lie deep with US Soccer Federation for me to care about what coach will be hired for USMNT. New leadership is needed at the federation.
The US should have had a coach lined up before firing the coach. Common sense.
The new coach should be able to explain how does a 16 year old can start for the European Championship Spanish team and why the US can never attain that talent.

There better be some u/21 players who can challenge the Copa roster for 2026.
Maybe since “ NOBODY “ what’s the job , why don’t you go after the PORTLAND THORNS coach. Can’t be any worse then who’s up!

No 14 year in America is talented or skilled enough to be called to the Olympics. But a Brazilian 16 year old was called.
At this point i dont care about the next coach. Americans will just complain no matter who it is.
Not if it’s someone good lol
You’re what’s wrong with the sport in the US
That’s every fan base nowadays my friend
El Loco Lalas
When are u bringing back that sweet facial hair, Alexi?
