the other day i saw some kids mess around with the emergency door controls on a bus in Solihull station and when the driver got out of the cab to call the police they legged it but one of them opened the bonnet which I'm pretty sure on the Volvo B7TL Wright Gemini 1s which NXWM have if the engine is turned off and the bonnet is open the engine will refuse to start when you go to start it
i reported it to him as i could see he was turning the ignition on and off and was probably confused why it wouldn't start
and after he closed the bonnet he thanked me as i was the only young person there who wasn't a little shit

All buses with an bonnet switch will refuse to start if the bonnet is open there is a way around it but you have to be out the cab

Public transport is not an easy job today. Full respect to all who work in it

Depends where it is I feel when I drove around Buxton if it wasn't for the lower pay and long commute time I still be there. 99% of them passengers were fine and chatty

@@Mancbuses I'm sure. Depends where you are based in the country. Your Stagecoach Midlands co-workers who drive around the Cotswolds wouldn't have half the stress of those who drive around inner city areas like Brum or Manc. I had the pleasure of sampling a ride on the 1 and 2 Stagecoach services from Stratford upon Avon and Moreton in the marsh yesterday. All the route pass through typically British and quiet rural areas; surely a much stressful job than what you have in inner city Manc.

      That is very true

There are rumoured to be a large number of potential root causes of anti-social behaviour but still, it doesn't give anyone the right to dish out abuse or threats to another person. It's mostly
vandalism and graffiti in the West Scotland area with the odd notice of a bus or two coming under attack by youths now and again. It's vile, deplorable and disgusting but there's no deterrent from the police, courts and legal system which allow this shocking acts to continue! I'm with you Jordan and all your colleagues!

      It really doesn't

It's a shame really that people like to do things like this as a young person and a bus enthusiast myself who travels on stagecoach buses a lot, I've seen many people do anti social things on buses and it's just disgusting and gives young people a bad reputation
I always like to have a chat with drivers and all that sometimes they mention things like this I've seen people arguing on buses like "oi m8 u cant kick me off da bus dats illeeeeeegalllll" and things like that kind of makes me laugh really at the stupidity of that
Ive never seen stolen hammers yet (partly because the buses in my area were arrivas for quite a while and they never had hammers) but now they're common place on buses because stagecoach at least where I am have a nice fleet of new enviros and that there's probably going to be a time when I see a smashed window and stolen hammers unfortunately
good explanation on why people like this are silly and I understand why you say young people annoy you but I think you should never judge a book by it's cover
Is it common to have cigarette burns on the back seats of buses? I prefer to sit at the back as I can hear the engine more and is that quite common place on your buses as I know it is on the ones in my area

It is such ashame. Lack or parenting or wrong crowd most of them are perfectly normal and polite when alone and in a group they show off

On average how often do anti social behavior situations occur?

    • @Mancbuses
      @Mancbuses  ปีที่แล้ว +1

@@peteuplink best advice I can give now is. What ever happens just let them do it. Don't get angry. Don't get out your cab. Let them do it. If the destroy the bus so what it not yours only react if you are in danger. Other than that let them do it makes for a much less stressful job. :)

@@Mancbuses thanks, Jordan. I definitely won't be getting out of the cab unless it becomes unsafe to remain in there :)
