I'm an addict and would love to speak to you about health board and why they leave addicts on methadone doesn't matter how high and that's all u can be a full time addict on heroin or any other serious drug and go get your methadone every day and absolutely nothing to help u get clean
I just went the cold turkey route and I've never looked back. Gave up the gear, the benzos, molly, lyrica and the drink, and I've been sober for around two years now, I just gradually cut back over time, then just stopped and went thru it.
listen folks. . There is a serious drug problem in Dublin. . I worked (building maintenance )in town for many years and saw it first hand every day. . dealers on corners with fellas on other corners keeping an eye out for the guards. . it's all over the city and it's getting worse. . Most of the premises I looked after, North and southside, I found drug paraphernalia outside every day. . it's a huge problem. .something has to be done. . and soon! !!
Very instructive for us Old Dubs; and I knew that neighborhood well. But as the narrator says, the drugs are all over, Dublin (1,2,3,4), you name it, everywhere. Great docu here!
The government here seem to not give a toss about nothing more than bringing in off shore filthy rich companies and turning the other cheek on their homelessness, drug addiction and youth crime. It's off the scale and will in turn stop the tourist trade dead in its tracks. The glory days will soon be over here, it's too expensive, it's dirty in the centre, robbery, street crime and aggressive begging will see an end to people visiting Dublin. The government and guardai stood by and did nothing.
I agree they need injection places ,so they can do it safely and cleanly, plus they would stop some poor child finding a dirty needle and sticking it into themselves
Very informative, I didn't realise the problem was so widespread. Thanks for uploading and thank you to the expert who really is following his vocation and doing a hero's work.
jennie nolan drugs are every where its destroying societies, they should stop the big heads and then there are no new addicts and lost people, may god protect irish people from these poisonous substances and long live ireland 🇮🇪 greetings from lebanon.
ppl were an are just not aware of the strength of addiction.. they're just not... it's not about havin da strength to not become addicted or being able to over come da addiction.. addiction is a disease of the brain and it's almost impossible to break but wit da ride treatment it is possible.. I just think ppl seriously underestimate da power of it....(addiction) coz I did and now I feel overwhelmed by it..... but I know I'll get thru it da other side....
I've seen good evidence of the supernatural realm. So please pray and be active in helping badly off people or addicts. Then I'm sure God will help us in our good works too ❤
No benches, no public toilets, nothing for the convenience for the people but let's provide drugs for druggies. Certainly everything is done akward end in Ireland! You know what?! Just built the ghetto for all those troubled people outside city somewhere in Santry and start building FACILITIES there with all your services including garda, medics, canteens, guards etc...........
Lee O'Donoghue what's your solution then bud you are all over the comments saying it's people like you why this is still going on, you haven't come out with any actual solution yet, maybe you are the problem
I thought he did a good job. He set the scene and let the expert speak. Dublin was overrun by heroin in the eighties and was a huge societal problem. The state was completely ineffectual at dealing with it. Associated crime was high. I left Dublin for work back then. Breaks my heart to see this on the rise again 40 years later.
Just to think, there were no drugs in Ireland not too long ago. Now it's full of drugs. But the $64K question is: If 98% of the Irish people (like in any country) want nothing to do with drugs, why are there any drugs there? And if the politicians claim to represent the best interests of the people, and will act accordingly, then what is the problem? Everybody wants the same thing - just make it a life changing event for anyone to be caught with or dealing drugs. Simple.
Yeah, because it worked over here during the crack epidemic, right? Wrong. Anyone who thinks harsher penalties for drugs is the answer should just be ignored.
So you believe that homeless people don't exist, that it isn't an issue, that more and more people are currently losing their homes, you think they all secretly have a home? Some might, con artists do exist, but most are genuinely homeless, you absolute goober.

Fair play to yah
Stay strong
I pity their addiction but no need for them leaving their needles everywhere.
I 💯 agree
He's approaching it like David Attenborough would approach a rainforest.

Basically the whole front of Belmayne and the back of narrow churchwell road.
They could at last have enough sense to pick up there garbage when there done a kid or anyone could step on a dirty needle and catch something
Great Video..... Hope it helps others

Good video
Is it not better for the city and the public as a whole to move this off the streets?
You wouldn't be able to, because realistically people will always do it on the street, no matter what could be done.

I highly doubt there were no drugs at all in Ireland. Drugs are in pretty much every country in the world.
