- Now in its 15th season, Lincoln Center's acclaimed series American Songbook will celebrate the best in American singing and songwriting starting January 30, 2013. Opening night belongs to Lea Salonga, who captivated Broadway audiences with her debut in Miss Saigon many years ago and has since become the voice of Disney movie princesses as well as starring in other major musicals.
Salonga has played both Eponine and Fantine on stage in Les Miserables, and in the video below she takes on yet another role. Check out her rendition of 'Empty Chairs at Empty Tables' above!
Lea Salonga is a singer and actress best known for her Tony Award-winning role in Miss Saigon. She is recognized for having won, in addition to the Tony, the Olivier, Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle and Theatre World Awards, in the field of musical theatre. She was also the first Asian to play Eponine in the musical LES MISERABLES on Broadway and returned to the beloved show as Fantine in the 2006 revival. She recently appeared in the Broadway-bound musical Allegiance at San Diego's Old Globe Theatre.
She's my "Beyonce"
Anyone know what key this is in? Absolutely beautiful.
Excellent but I prefer Ramin Karimloo. He does a fantastic job
She is great in whatever she does
That's amazing! So inspiring! ThanksLea!
I really like her, but I think she should really try to go for a non-rhotic accent for performances like Les Mis and such. Rhotic accents do not fit very well.
She's excellent as always !
The pianist was probably annoyed haha
Galing niya talaga... one of a kind!
Bravo my idol !!!!
Omg my forever idol.

Bravo !!
