I live in the eastern suburbs of Sydney and it takes usually 35 min by car to Auburn via the M8 tunnel (which has saved so much time) and we usually go there just for the halal food, halal butchery meat and Afghan naan ❤
That's great! The M8 tunnel really does cut down travel time. Auburn is such a treasure trove for halal food lovers. The Afghan naan and halal butchery are definitely worth the trip! -Jon
Thanks so much! We’ll definitely have to go back and try Student Biryani's lamb biryani and jarda rice. They sound delicious! It was on our list but didn't make the cut, they will definitely be there next time!

Hi Mohammed, thanks for the suggestion! We will be heading to Merrylands very soon and will definitely check out Kabul house. Any particular dishes you recommend we try?
As a Turk, the main issue with Turkish or any other kebab shops across Australia is that they don't serve authentic döner kebabs. Aussie döners are made from minced meat, whereas they should be made with thinly layered slices of beef, which makes a huge difference.
Thanks for your comment! We really appreciate the insight! 🙌 We’ve heard that the döner kebabs in Australia can be a bit different from the authentic versions found in Turkey. It’s interesting how minced meat is often used here, but we can definitely imagine how much better those thinly layered slices of beef would taste! Hopefully, we’ll get to try the real deal in Turkey one day for a true döner experience. In the meantime, we’ll keep hunting for the most authentic versions we can find in Australia! 😄
Yes, you are absolutely right! It is really interesting to see the evolution of the faloode from a dessert in Iran to a rose flavoured drink in Pakistan/India. We tried the Persian version of the faloode in our Merrylands video (here: th-cam.com/video/i1vpkc5CGYk/w-d-xo.html) and it was amazing! Thanks for watching.
