For those who think $220 is low, Season 3 was released in 2015, nearly 10 years ago. Nowadays, the fine for breaching biosecurity ranges from 550 to 5,500.
Yeah it can sets off red flags when people say No but if they don't want people to refuse they just don't have to give them the choice to say No and tell them if you refuse maybe you will not come in.
agree. increase the fine and a warning that a repeat occurence will result to refusal of entry to the country or at least being blacklisted and outright searched every time they reenter the country.... australia border security is too lame.
It is delicious coffee. Bought some in the Phillipines as green bean. We roasted at my work (a roastery) Not worth the money though. I paid $60 for 2 55grams containers straight from the source.
That is in Australian dollars. Also, this is an old episode. The fines are much higher now. I think they're now around the $1,000 mark which is about $600USD.
I applaud the kindness and patience of these officers. After a person has said the understood their declarations, I read it to them, they still say they g it ave nothing to declare,… I would fine them to the full extent of the law
It' s because it's a TV show, from the legacy TV networks. They have probably 5 minutes commercial break every 10 minutes or something, so each time they have to recap everything. For example, in the US, a 40 minute TV series episode is broadcast during a 1 hour slot, there is literally 20 minutes of commercial for 40 minutes of content..
You could tell the pregnant woman was nervous by her body language right away. When she said that she got the shoes at a store without being asked, that was also a giveaway. I felt sorry for her son. I wonder what happened to him.
@@zenith808 Have you seen the Chinese and Vietnamese travellers on this show, who are often residents or even citizens and can’t string two understandable words together!
The dogs don’t get a treat. They get a special thing that they always get when they mark for narcotics, food, money etc. In Australia it seems like it’ s a roll of cloth. You could see it when in the mouth when the dog came out of an interrogation room.
@ I noticed the towel and figured that that’s the treat, maybe off camera they trade the towel for a real treat? But, do the dogs ever lie and give a false positive to get the towel?
I can handle returning Australian citizens becoming a bit frustrated even rude with their own border security people however when visitors are rude well that really gets my goat!
It's just amazing how people just think they can travel into a country with a half a suitcase full of dead animals and think it's o.k. obviously they have done it before and got through
..for those who wonder how the narrator's determine the estimated street values of the drugs, that is the prices the AFP and customs officials tend to sell the undeclared seized drugs for..

The fellow carrying a 1 kilo package in his groin, had the package been 2 or 3 ounces he might have gotten it through. Drug mules have high expectations and large egos
Nah, with all the technology customs use they have had to get smarter. They have been forced to spread their risk and reduce detection by sending smaller amounts through on their mules instead of hiding large quantities inside of pallets of goods. They are obviously frustrated by this and don't want to go to the effort of doing this time consuming task. So, they try to send a slightly larger quantity through, hoping THAT is small enough to get through. It is just pure laziness on behalf of the drug pushers abroad who now have to spend more time, effort and money on their "business dealings" and they hate the added expense. Remember, it's a business to these guys and everything comes down to the bottom line. All businesses try to reduce expenses and increase profits.

And to think someone that may be Carrying " Factory Sealed " Food items can be kept out of Australia ???
There’s a few episodes about people being taken under suspicion for drugs, didn’t have any on them but did have IDs and credit cards with different names on them. They got in trouble and I think fined then deported. Also, if the item is forbidden, they will take it even if it’s factory sealed. The most common I’ve seen is Bird’s Nest.
So worried about the mosquitoes they missed the khat forest? Seriously? Please tell me someone else caught the drugs and they were investigated instead of just destroyed because they were undeclared plants.
