- This chocolate lava cake was hard to bake correctly but so worth it in the end! It is so rich and chocolatey. Watch to the end to see how I failed lol.

Molten Chocolate Lava Cake Recipe
Ingredients:
For Buttering and Flouring Ramekins:
Butter: As needed
Cocoa Powder (or Flour): As needed
For Chocolate Cake:
Semi-Sweet Chocolate: 3 ounces
Butter: 1/4 cup
Egg: 1
Egg Yolk: 1
Granulated Sugar: 2 tablespoons
Salt: 1/4 teaspoon
All-Purpose Flour: 1 tablespoon
Directions:
1. Prepare Ramekins or Muffin Pan: Thoroughly butter the inside of each ramekin or muffin cup. Dust the buttered surfaces with cocoa powder (or flour), shaking out any excess. This prevents sticking.
2. Melt Chocolate and Butter: In a heatproof bowl set over a pot of simmering water (or in the microwave), melt the semi-sweet chocolate and butter together until smooth. Set aside to cool slightly.
3. Whisk Egg and Sugar: In a separate bowl, whisk together the egg, egg yolk, granulated sugar, and salt until light and fluffy.
4. Combine Ingredients: Gradually pour the melted chocolate mixture into the egg-sugar mixture, whisking continuously to prevent the eggs from scrambling.
5. Stir in the all-purpose flour until just combined.
6. Fill and Bake: Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C). Divide the batter evenly among the prepared ramekins or muffin cups. Bake in the preheated oven for 6 to 8 minutes for smaller ramekins or 8 to 10 minutes for larger ones, until the edges are set but the center is still soft and gooey.
7. Carefully run a knife around the edges of each cake to loosen them. nvert the cakes onto serving plates. Serve immediately, optionally with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dusting of powdered sugar.

That third try looked perfect! Also, I love the strawberry rose! Plating and presentation techniques are interesting. 😊
