Amazing show, amazing characters, amazing story. But the man who plays Alfred killed that role! I loved every scene he was in, someone with such a straight face show so much power
You’re awesome! My wife and I really appreciate this video. We started watching “Seven Kings Must Die” and instantly realized that we needed a complete recap. It’s been too long lol
this has been far,one of the most greatest shows i have ever seen. I am sad to see it end. it was great.. it would be nice to see a run off. anything is possibble.
I caught episode 5 season 1 randomly on the sci-fi channel one morning last fall. A minute ago I just paused Uhtred and Oddo the elder discussing the possibility of burning Ubba's ships. This will be the fourth time that I have thrilled to the heart pounding and beautifully directed and written confrontation between Ubba and Uhtred! Yes, I have watched the Last Kingdom from beginning to end 3 times since that first viewing, and am 5 episodes into my 4th viewing! This is by no means a boast my fellow arselings, it's merely the admitted folly of an old warrior, past his prime, living in a world that no longer makes sense to him with barbarians afoot in every borough and the 4 Horsemen looming on a dark horizon...So I apparently have chosen to allow obsession to be my oarman and thus set myself adrift in the pocket dimension that is The Last Kingdom with all of its horror, filth, victory and defeat...Let the characters live beyond the actors, let the word be made into light, and the let that light burn brightly in our hearts, Areselings! Destiny is All!!
Definitely needed this recap before watching the new movie 😂 very thorough! I now understand a couple things that I didn’t catch while watching the series 😅
Awesome recap! This is the best "viking-esque" TV series after the first for seasons of Vikings. Everyone should give it a try. at least the ending is better than Viking's ending
I am going to miss this series I wished we had a background of Uhtred's last son and what happened to his daughter and other son hope we see a sequel of his descendants but I doubt it.
Uthred's second son by Gisela, named Osbert, became a strong warrior appeared in Seven Kings must die & fought alongside his father. Stiorra part ended in season 5 while Uthred's first son by Gisela named Young Uthred or Bishop Oswald had his last scene in season 5.
If Vikings actually good? I gave it a try a few years ago, but gave up after one episode. For some reason it didn't appeal to me. But I am absolutely LOVING The Last Kingdom! I finished season 2 just last night!
this may be the most confusing thing I’ve ever listened to in my life.. with that being said; thank you for putting 5 seasons into ten minutes… now I can watch the movie and be a little less confused 🤣
Apparently 'aethel' is an old English word meaning 'noble,' so not uncommon to be used years back - but I agree, was so confused by how many aethel's there were lol 😅
So much of aethelred, aethelfled, aethel.... Only mistake in this show is I can't remember people's name 😢😢 except uthred and Ragnar So much confusion. Who's who?
Gahhhh I just discovered this series…incidentally b/c I am supposedly descendant of Alfred and was researching him. I’m only to season two so far and please tell me the Viking in love with Aethelflead kills Aethelred 😂 Even though I realize in real life there are no accounts (that I know of) of Aethelred as an abuser, which kinda feels like posthumous libel and pissing on someone’s grave. If they need a villain in such a case, at least make him fictional like they did with Uthred. Not sure yet if my DNA results can prove a connection that far back but we shall see. It’s a trip to think you could know such detail about an ancestor from millennia ago. I had another great grandparent, she was a Native American princess thru my French Canadian ancestry and she was similar to Alfred in piety, mission and ambition. Her father was chief of the Illini Indian Nation Confederacy of Tribes and she defied the arranged marriage but eventually gave in but went on to convert her dishonorable husband, even her overbearing father and many many others throughout the Louisiana territory and was given the honor of being buried within her church at Kaskaskia, IL. Marie Rouensa was her convert name . I’m grateful to the missionary Jesuits who chronicaled so much about her.
i came here from the movie . i have stopped watching the movie in the middle coz a lot of things were not making sense. .. i mistakenly took it as "part 2 " of the movie "The King" that came in 2019. It is also about King Henry the V... Although i dont know why but the movie is made in too much haste and a lot of wars are not even shown and just given an over view of it in 1 or 2 scenes. like if they would have properly shown each and every war that the King Athlestan fought.. it would have been a good 2.5hrs movie I haven't watched this series .. i need someone to explain this to me a lot more slowly... too many characters and too many names . i got confused in the midst of it all. Anyone please..? Although is the series recommendable to watch or not..? Like the history of England shown in it.. how accurate is it... ?
I watched the movie and I thought it was good until I binged the series. The movie was a disappointing finale compared to the series. 1. The series needed two more seasons to complete the storyline, or at least a mini-series, maybe a two-part movie for each of the two remaining books. 2. Eogdifu did not have chemistry with Uhtred, nor did she show any endearing qualities as compared to his love interests in the series, Mildrith, Gisela, Iseult, Aethelflaed, or even Brida. 3. There was no hint of Stiorra in the movie. My only complaint in the series was that there wasn't an emphasis that King Edward lives with the spirit of Uhtred's first born son with Mildrith who died when Iseult saved baby Edward in the marshlands. The movie praises the adventures of Uhtred, who is actually born Osbert who took on his older brother's name.
The series was awesome. The movie?? Netflix utterly screwed up the whole thing with their stupid perversions for king athelstad, wth a monk and the king in medieval times??? Netflix creators are seriously mentally challenged
Man ngl, movie was kinda disappointing... what do you all think? Admittedly, I didn't read the books, but I feel like they did Athelstan a massive injustice by taking him in the direction they did and the plot generally just felt far too rushed.
I love the series so far but three episodes into season 3 and I have to fast forward thru the scenes with Skade (?) the blonde dark arts witchy character. This actress is awful, feels overwrought, overacted, badly acted…just 🤢 So much so that I can’t suspend my disbelief to think Uthred would actually be attracted to her..unless under a serious spell. Her inconsistent accent is also driving me nuts 😆 Now Isolde the not-so-shadowy queen from season one and two? Captivating. And they could have killed off the Aethelwold plotting for the throne way before now, that storyline had way too much mileage. Snore. But otherwise loving it 😂
man dont know if its bad writting or just me but its such a pain to watch thru this series, i love it tbh but its like a compilation of stupid decisions on how to make a war and killin lmao. Dumbass char make dumb decision and make the lovely char died for it. Man i wish it would be a bit of logical here cuz people pretty dumbfck in this series
Funny and boring names very complicated still dont know who is who so many althelhlm velm i dont even know how to spell them viking is far far better than this show also our hero never ages here lol even kids who were born years after the uhtred's teenage years became kings queens and died and their children then came to power but our hero stays same and lost from his purpose ( conquering what he considers his birthright ) and keeps fighting wars on behalf of others
Anyone here before watching the movie?😂
Yes 😂
yep 👍
watched the movie, just as full of devoid of logic moments to drive the plot forward as we saw in the series. Still enjoyable though.
They made ethelstan gay 😂😂😂😂
Yesss its been to long
It’s sad to see a series like The Last Kingdom come to an end, end of an era ❤️
My wife loved this show but I never really got into it. I prefer vikings the original one. That is not the spin-off that they came up with.
Amazing show, amazing characters, amazing story. But the man who plays Alfred killed that role! I loved every scene he was in, someone with such a straight face show so much power
Yeah... no smile at all. Focused and purposeful
You’re awesome! My wife and I really appreciate this video. We started watching “Seven Kings Must Die” and instantly realized that we needed a complete recap. It’s been too long lol
Same!! I know I watched every season, but when I started the movie I knew I needed a recap.
Yeah man so happy for this, with this recap I now remember all the characters and can make sense of their confusingly similar names
Lucky me, then! I literally just discovered The Last Kingdom and finished watching season 2 last night. What a treat!

All I remember from S4 and S5 was how cool Sigtryggr was and didn’t have to kill him off.
Thanks I completely forgot what happened in s5, now I can enjoy the film
I think Utrid has the highest kill count of any show like this lol
After watching two minutes of the movie I realized I had to come here and refresh my memory because I forgot a lot of the series
Great, concise recap. Just what I needed before Seven King's Must Die
yep same. 👍
This was a perfect recap before the movie! Appreciate it, love this show
Hello Are you really among my fan's if I may ask you?
This show and movie were beyond great more like magical wow Alexander dreymon put on one of the best acting of a great character i ever seen wow
I appreciate how you provide context and background information to help me understand the movie better
thank you so much for this, i finished the last kingdom a while ago but was super eager to get into the new movie!! this helps so much
thank you you always come thru, i enjoyed all seasons of the last kingdom n jus watched a refresher before i watch the movie
Definitely needed this recap before watching the new movie 😂 very thorough! I now understand a couple things that I didn’t catch while watching the series 😅
I need a separate brain to remember all the names in this series
But why , they only used 5 names :) :)
Uhtred the one true king 🗡🛡🔥
Great recap! Needed this before the movie. Goddamn though, I forgot how confusing the names were.
Great!! Now just to wait a few minutes until dinner is done and I'm starting the film!
I needed a recap for nostalgic purposes and now I find out there's a movie that came out this year!!! I missed the Uhtred's four hope they're in it
Thanks. Just in time for the movie.
Destiny is All. ⚔️
Awesome recap! This is the best "viking-esque" TV series after the first for seasons of Vikings. Everyone should give it a try. at least the ending is better than Viking's ending
100% agree. It’s fast paced and doesn’t get boring and drag along unlike The Vikings Show.
I kinda liked the Vikings ending.
Both Hollywood Rubbish
@@smguk2412 sorry that you’d rather watch The Big Bang Theory 💀😭
@@jayg5699 Would rather watch anything that isn't Woke Shite 🤡
Lmao Uthred is the only one that didn't age a second.
W0W! I'm thinking I just may need a recap of the recap!? Ha! Thanx for your time & effort in putting this together. Very much appreciated!
Thanks for the recap!
Thanks for the Video. Now watching the movie 😎
Much needed recap before I watch the movie thanks!!
I watched the movie first never seen this show and just now finished season 1 wtf man I been under a rock!!
This was really good. I’m watching it after I just finished all 5 seasons and the movie. Well done 👍🏾
Hello Are you really among my fan's if I may ask you?
Great recap, thanks !
these names are so fucking confusing
Happy to know it's not just me😂😂
@@lionelshepherd1932fr it took me really long to learn all the names ngl
You always do such concise yet expansive recaps. Love them, thanks💖
Destiny is all! Thank you.

I also want a prequel with the backstories of some of the more beloved characters - Erik and Sigfried, Hild, Beocca and others.
Im so grateful the movie came to netflix
Naw this show is the most lit underrated shows
Ok now on to the movie thanks 🙏🏾
Excellent, thank you very much, now I can enjoy the movie 🙌🏼
I watched seven kings must die loved it great film now im watching the last kingdom series loving this
Thanks!!! Now to the movie! 🍿 🎥
Still, Easily the best show ever. not one of the best, not one of the best in its category, just simply. THE best.
Thanks so much. I truly appreciate this. I needed a recap.
If you say only their names it sounds like Arnold Schwarzenegger screaming angrily.
Their names has always confused me and been hard to keep up with. So many sound a like lol
good content!
Even with a recap I can't rebember anything 😩
I thought The Last Kingdom was better than game of thrones. Way better ending. Even without dragons
This is series is 1# in my book.. I have watch it let just say more than twice...😀
Missed some key points but otherwise great recap video I suppose it would have been way longer if you included them anyways but good job
Great recap video appreciated it heavily now onto SEVEN KINGS MUST DIE
🗡️🗡️🗡️🗡️🗡️🗡️🗡️
I've watched this twice and ready to go for a third time.
DESTINY IS ALL

with that being said; thank you for putting 5 seasons into ten minutes… now I can watch the movie and be a little less confused 🤣
“The Last Kingdom Recap” Video Needs To Be Updated With “The Last Kingdom: Seven Kings Must Die”.
What on earth happened with Uthred’s accent starting season 3?? He sounds like Mr Smithers from The Simpsons 😆
Now i can watch the movie 🎥
Holy Athel-ness!!!!! Athel....fled-sted-hiem-red-stan-wolf

Wow. I will never get to see a more amazing series than the last kingdom. Amazing. Loved the seven kingdoms too.
Best show..sad to see it go so soon. Netflix sucks yoy had a chance to become the best. But you canceled alot of good shows
They should have done another season and not a movie. It wasnt long enough
Nice
Yes it's very good.

These names make it so hard to follow when you’ve been watching the show over now like 5-6 years.

So many betrayals
Thanks for the recap but could slow down your talking please- hard to follow and makes me anxious

yup pretty much explains my experience watching so far, haha. There's a lot of dumb ego decisions by uthred and yet im still hooked, lol

This recap is bad
Seasons 1-3 were iconic , the rest was not as good
Do you purposely mispronounce every single word lmao
Season 1-2 were epic, thereafter the series spun into a tailspin of woke failure
Looks like a parody
Yes if someone wants to make a parody this show is 100% parody fuel
Let's rip the vikings series off jeez talk about copy cats
Vikings is better than this😂😂 it is a joke.
Crap show
Thanks lad, now I can enjoy the movie!🚸
This is the perfect recap! Thanks
