    2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour 300g
    ▢1 tsp baking soda
    ▢1 tbsp corn starch
    ▢1 tsp salt
▢3/4 cup unsalted butter 170g, melted
▢1 cup light brown sugar 200g, packed
    ▢2/3 cup granulated sugar 133g
    ▢2 eggs large, room temperature
    ▢1 tbsp vanilla extract 15mL
▢1 cup white chocolate chips 150g
    Instructions
Set the oven to 350F. Line an 9x9 inch baking sheet with parchment paper and melt the butter.
Add the flour, salt, baking soda, and corn starch to a medium bowl then whisk together and set aside.
Pour the melted butter into a large bowl. Add the white and brown sugars and whisk together, they'll form a somewhat thick slurry.
Add the eggs and vanilla to the butter mixture and mix together well.
Dump the dry mixture into the wet and mix until combined then stir in all but a handful of the white chocolate chips, mixing so they're distributed.
Transfer the dough to an 9x9 inch baking dish. Top with the reserved white chocolate chips.
Bake for about 35 minutes at 350F. The cookie bars are done when the edges are set and golden brown and a toothpick or skewer inserted into the center comes out mostly clean. Let the cookie bars cool in the pan for about an hour before removing and cutting.

Hey! I tried this recipe already!
It's AMAZING. Now I did use chopped milk chocolate instead of white chocolate and I used dark brown sugar, salted butter and skipped corn starch(cuz I didn't have any) and the result was still really, really good: like a cookie cake. This is infact the first blondie recipe I have tried. The blondies are already finished,it's that good! Will make this again soon.
    Thanks!

You are so right about measuring as the make it or break it moment for a recipe. I’ve been a homebaker for 10 years now, and I used to be a “cup” person for the LONGEST time, but honestly there’s some things that work, but with varying ingredients or measurements that aren’t in whole - it’s SO easy to mess up. Unless its exactly a cup, a tablespoon, or in that ballpark, its too easy to mess up. Hate recipes that call for sticks of butter too. Thanks for your consistent dedication to metric measurements!

  • @barbarapoulian358
    @barbarapoulian358 4 ปีที่แล้ว +6

I love that wholesome 'joy to watch' John converts metrics (in Videos) so that all over world Bakers (such as me from Oz) understand how much to use in recipes. Well done John 👍😁

This looked so good! I've never had a blondie before but I love the combination of brown sugar and the whole tablespoon of vanilla, I'm sure it smells heavenly! Thanks also for always providing measurements in grams, we use empirical measurements in South Africa so this makes it easier to get an overall picture of what it should taste/smell/feel like. I will try to make and adjust this for a larger baking pan ( I don't have a square pan/tin). Thanks for always making me so happy with your baking! ❤

I was looking for a blondie recipe to make my bf, & then found John’s channel. I was a little sceptical because I didn’t want cakey blondies, I wanted fudgey. I made these last night, & my GOD, they were insanely good. I did substitute the chocolate chips for white chocolate twix bars, with a tiny amount of white chocolate chips to fill the gap & to top with. Fudgey, gooey, delicious. Follow this recipe, don’t choose anyone else’s.

Man. It’s my first time making blondie from scratch. This is absolutely the best blondie I’ve ever made and eaten. There’s a little confusion between the measurements of the ingredients because it’s just didn’t add up (like flour, my 2.5 cups is definitely NOT 300gr), so I got confused as in which measurements should I use but it still turns out beautiful and tasty! We devoured half of it in a day (there’s just two of us). Thank you!

THIS IS BY FAR THE BEST BLONDIE RECIPE EVER, (very sweet but i had never had it without chocolate and nuts thats probably why ...nuts would probably balance it out..)LOVE THIS RECIPE (this is my valentines day and birthday recipe for my bf) this blondie is by far better then chef ramsay, paula deen, Ina Garten, Ree Drummond ..ect......first time i tried blondies was at ruby tuesday, my bf loved them so much i had to recreate them...... i went home to try and make them as healthy as i could by picking and choosing ingreadiants from 2 different recipes( because some recipes call for 4 sticks butter some call for 2 sticks and ...2 cups sugar well others call for 1 cup sugar but both recipes call for 2 cups flour, ).. surprisingly they came out really good but i forgot to wright down the recipes, so the next time i made them i decided to stick to just one recipe....... AND WELL each one was worse then the other,,,,,all of them came out cakey and unsweet....the recipes themselfs were a bit confusing some like chef ramsay would show white sugar but in the description say brown and melted butter well others say room temp so i actually tried that one multiple times multiple ways..... with just white sugar , brown sugar half and half sugar room tem butter melted buter...ect...

I'm here because my friend has challenged me to make brownies with blondies on top with out baking them separately. (Forget the inelegance of this idea for a second, I know, I tried to tell him) but anyway, thanks for this recipe, I'll need to calculate if its denser than brownie batter ... this is a silly idea.
This is a great channel and thank you for putting the weights in grams on screen too.

If anyone is wondering if they should make this: do it! I made them recently because I've always wanted to eat them after watching the Nancy Drew movie from 2007 ^ ^ Next time however, I will reduce the white sugar because the brown sugar made it rather sweet, and use macadamia nuts! Aside from that it came out smelling delicious and the texture was like a brownie with a caramel taste and white chocolate bits ('v') My family and friends like them as well

I had blondie once and it was so sweet! Probably a bad experience, but your recipe makes me want to give it a second chance! 😊

Yum! These look great! I love how you explain everything too. I ruined my favorite shortbread cookies one time by adding too much flour so I really appreciate the reminder about too much flour.

John, I'm used to make brownies quite often and I'm so curious to verify the outcome of this recipe when I make it (very, very soon). Thank you for your easy explanation and for sharing your genuine fun when preparing it

The center should be soft and raw looking when you remove, like cookies they firm up when they cool completely. If your stove is older it may also not be doing the correct temperature

Weighing the flour compensates for variations in its hydration state, which really is important.

Have you ever done brigadeiros? It’s a Brazilian desert and it’s soooo good and easy to make! You can make it flavored in so many ways, but chocolate ones are the traditional ❤️ would love to see you make them!
