I love this swag, the mattress is fine on grass but needs extra for hips and shoulders if on hard ground. I bought this to use under an awning so not using the fly much (too hot in summer). The material is lighter than normal canvas and more waterproof plus rolls up way smaller.
I wouldn't call it a dud, Jack, this mat is thicker than the RS-1 mat and is as good as most mats that are included with swags. As with most swags though, it's a good candidate for an upgrade to a self inflating mat at some stage. ~ Ben
@@SnowysOutdoors Hi Ben, maybe dud was not the correct choice of words, but most double swags I’ve seen at that price point come with a 70mm high density foam mattress.
It's not the fabric or coating that causes condensation, it's a combination of inadequate ventilation and a differential in temperature between the inside and outside of the shelter. ~ Ben
Well I'd call it an improvement over K###S, but if I were looking for a 2P Swag-Tent, then I'd want the following features. + Access to Vestbules at Both Ends + Side Doors on Both Sides + Bucket floors in Vestibules.
I don't reckon they could please everyone. This is the first of it's kind from Oztent though, maybe they will make some changes, or something new in the future. ~ Ben
I think most of the dollars have gone into the design and fabrics, Lochlan. This mat is better than most, but a lot of people tend to upgrade the mat in their swag to a self inflating option nowadays. ~ Ben

After experiencing the mattress in the original RS-1 I’d have thought Oztent would have learned their lesson when it comes to dud mattresses

Kings double deluxe swag is still the best hands down for couple car camping or whatever this is just a fancy splash or a waste
This one is more compact though, each to their own, I know you are happy with your Kings swag. ~ Ben
