I got my osmo pocket through Costco and it came with the basic accessory kit which comes with a WiFi adaptor and scroll wheel controller which I love! No having to physically connect my phone to the camera and if you do get the osmo pocket I highly recommend Scotty makes stuff 3D printed case...super durable, I drop things all the time and the case has saved my camera from a 4 foot drop plus the shape makes that little camera actually feel natural in the hand. When I want to have a wider field I have a wide angle filter from freewell, I’ve only used it once when doing a time lapse of a indoor jungle gym build, it was a tight space. I also enjoy using the panoramic and have used that feature numerous times on my osmo. Anyways cheers and thanks for the video!
I had the osmo pocket and I have the fimi palm on the way. When I had the pocket and the accessories it was over $400 and the palm will be less than half of that. I had a credit for $25 to use when I ordered the palm and I am all in for less than $150. I do think I will want to get a mic because I am not pleased with the audio. If I can get a mic system that will work with the palm for $50 to $75 I will be on budget. I never use slow mo so I have a feeling that I am not going to be disappointed.
Of course the Palm isn't 'better' than the Pocket - unless you specify what you are trying to do. It's certainly cheaper, and if you are on a tight budget, maybe for you that makes it better. Most of the comparison points come down to cheapness, not better quality. For instance, the Palm has built in wifi, but unless that wifi feature is itself better, all you can say is that it's cheaper (because you have to pay extra for that feature on the Pocket). But you could say that the Pocket wifi is better than the Palm wifi because the Palm wifi has to be re-enabled in the Palm menus every time you turn the device on, which gets tedious. The Palm has that built in joystick, which is cheaper than paying extra for the Pocket extension rod or controller wheel, but the Palm joystick is noisy in use and operates at a fixed speed. The Pocket joystick or wheel is silent in operation and has variable speed (the further you push it, the faster it goes). This reviewer seems to be unaware that the Palm doesn't have the ability to focus at all - it's fixed at infinity - which indeed solves focus issues but it means you can't use it for a shot requiring the subject to be sharp and the background to be defocussed. Battery life on the Palm is NOT twice that of the Pocket - see the tests on TH-cam - Fimi's claim is based on a setting called '1080p/30L' which is a special battery saving mode. At 4K/30, yes the Palm runs for a little longer than the Pocket but not a huge difference. Sound quality of the Pocket is noticably better than on the Palm, and the latest firmware update for the Palm has noticably degraded the audio from the Palm built in mics so much that users (including me) have rolled back to the previous version, even though that itself isn't exactly brilliant. Here in Australia you can buy the Pocket from bricks and mortar shops, including pro video shops, but at least so far there are no retailers for the Palm, nor support, so you have to buy it from China and hope that nothing goes wrong with it. I'm lucky that I have both and I can therefore choose which one to use to suit the shot I'm working on. It's a bit like swapping lenses on a DSLR. The Palm is a useful low-cost alternative to the Pocket, not a better device.
Very wise words. Might I ad that the Osmo has a little bit of a shalow depth of field what looks really nice and cinematic. DJI even fixed the auto focus in a recent update. The image quality is beyond every other product in it's own category without a doubt. Overall imo it's the best handheld gimbal cam you can get atm. I just recently picked one up together with the underwater case for 185€ (tax included) and I think for that price point it can't be beaten atm.

You were spot on, the Fimi truly does looks like GoPro footage. It’s all about your application.... I have used the Fimi Palm and I have owned the Pocket for about a year and some change. I have the Freewell Wide Lens, ND Filters, Audio Adapter & now the Freewell Anamorphic Lens. The footage I get from the Pocket is simply astounding for this small sensor camera that I can take into places where my DSLR would not be welcomed. I regret not 1 day of buying the OSMO Pocket for $349.00 at the time. Camera buying can’t always be about a price race to the bottom..... simply, get what you like and start creating.
THanks! It's tough because in some shots one wins over the other and few seconds later in a different scene...the reverse. BUT the Fimi blows chunks in slow mo -at this in this example.
Thanks for the video. I prefer the Pocket narrow FOV and sound. Also the Control Wheel is much better to do smooth panning. Of course to have the CW and wifi module you have to pay more and that almost double the price of the Palm. IMO the Palm cam being supported just on one side can bring durability issues of the gimbal in the long term.

I really hope that one day reviewers will be able to consistently having one product reviewed on the right side the other one on the left. The constant switching of products from left to right at completely random moments makes it pretty hard to follow and i often have to rewind because something clearly didn't look right... And surprise surprise, just had a video test with X camera on the left and Y on the right, and 5 seconds later, we get X camera on the right and Y on the left. It's a visual comparison, i shouldn't have to constantly check the bottom to see, "wait which one is which" every 5 seconds. DJI always left, Fimi always right. It's really simple. Iphone left, Samsung right. HDR left, non HDR right. Is it really that hard to keep milk in the fridge and cereals in the cupboard? Or do you also mix them around and put the cereal in the fridge and milk in the cupboard? Just a tip ;) Edit: This goes for both "amateur" reviewers, but also some that have done it for years and years. And even "highly educated/intelligent" people. I just don't get it. It's so simple. And i don'tt have some fancy education, nor a huge company, nor a review channel... But damn i guess i should start one because i could probably be the most incompetent one, yet the best and simplest at the same time. I wish i was rich, then i would actually do it.
BOOS I shooted videos at 4k /30 fps but when I download them from the app its becomes W= 1024 and H=576 before downloading the app gives me the warning that I must download them from an SSD card as the app compress them a lot so what the issue? why am I not getting videos at 4k frame width and height?

I still haven't figured out why the Walmart in my town was selling the Osmo pocket and the action for 89 bucks! I bought the pocket and still kick myself for not buying the action too because now they're sold out. Like I said I still haven't figured out what the deal was with the price being so low but it was.

Osmo has a better sound and its a more professional angle But come on you have to have WiFi built in these days and good battery both have great picture but the knock off with a finished off color image is better for most amateurs as they dont do post production mods. Fimi is more appealing. Cheaper to. DJI makes amazing quality though my Mavic pro is astonishing even after years gone by nothing comes close for the price.
strong vinietting and overexposure of sky even in f-log. things, that xiaomi (fimi) should work on to compeete with the best. all in all for the price its still a good value. But for me I would go for more pricier gear withouth these "small" flaws. One thing that stands out is amasing FOV. that neither osmo pocket or other smartphones can do. (Gopro can) ;)

But they improved on the original and made it cheaper! What's wrong with that if DJI can't be bothered? Competition is healthy as you can be sure that the next pocket V2 has to be better than the fimi which wouldn't necessarily be the case had fimi not existed.

Audio: Osmo sounds okay, Fimi is muted and digitally distorted. FOV: Fimi is too wide for me, Osmo is a bit too narrow... Any device inbetween? :)

You wont find any problems with auto focus on the fimi palm because its a fixed focus camera. Which I think is preferable just.nit for cinematic
The only problem is that the Fimi Palm looks like a cheap plastic toy and the image looks like a Gameboy color image.
