DJI Osmo Pocket 3 - amzn.to/3Sho4An DJI Osmo Pocket 1 - amzn.to/3Qhons4 Two things to note: 1. I also found out that you can indeed lock focus. There are three focus modes: single, continuous, and product showcase. Single is what you want if you need to lock focus. 2. I think I may have had the background noise cut on with the DJI Wireless Mic 2, and that would explain the kind of muffled sounding audio. I didn't even know that was a feature at the time. I like how you treat everything so methodical like a scientist. I would love to see you do a video on how to shoot nature with cameras and iPhones. I always love the way your stuff looks.
Pocket original colours look so good!!! I don't under stand why they couldnt replicate those colours in the next generations! I get that the pocket 3 is more complete device but my eyes are constantly drawn on the footage of pocket original
I've used the Pocket 1 off and on for about 3 years. It's still pretty handy for those panning time lapse shots. Probably won't invest in replacement anytime soon though. I do like the screen on the new one, since I can never tell if I'm in focus
Do I plan on or even remotely need to know anything about these, no. BUT! This review I felt was very thorough and well done Robby! Love the side by side and not just flipping back and forth so the viewer can actually tell a difference. Keep up the great content

same here. clearly Pocket 3 has colder colours and probably over-processes skin-tones. 14.02 The footage on pocket 1 looks more natural in low light than pocket 3 however this I'm pretty sure is down to processing. (look how pale his skin is on pocket 3) Dynamic range seems to be better in pocket 3 as one can see the sky bluer but in terms of warm tones pocket 1 just looks nicer.
Thank you very much for this very good review. I have the pocket 1 and I am thinking about upgrading. The image quality of the 1 is in good light even better than of my iphone 14 pro, because the image is more natural.
nice comparison vid! pocket 3 seems worth the buy if you have neither, but if you're like me and have the pocket 1, it's still pretty good image quality and performance wise, and aren't in a rush to upgrade.
elucidou bastante minha duvidas, talvez eu compre a 1 apenas pela questão de valor, a 1 encontro por 800 ate 1000 reais a 3 esta na faixa dos 4mil, mas me parece uma ótima opção para a criação de videos
14:00 Yes, you can lock the autofocus in OP3, mas apenas via app mimo, but only via mimo app, which is a pity since it makes obligatory to carry and connect my phone while I'm doing something with motion, like skateboarding. Great review, I don't know if it is my monitor, but the objects in motion in OP3 look a bit jittering... maybe it is the sharppening idk. I noticed a similar issue with the Sony AX53, to solve that I had to lower more the shutter speed, instead let it 25@50 or 24@48, that is why I payed attention in this detail.
Great video man - you knew exactly what I wanted to see done here. Definitely subscribing. I still use the Osmo 1 and use a lens adapter to open up the visible picture but the 3 looks like a worth investment or the lowlight ability alone.
I have Pocket 1. It's still working well. With ND and Wide Angle filters, I think I can live with it for the time being....LOL. Thank you and best wishes.....from Singapore!
I've been using a Pocket 2 for about a year and not planning to upgrade to a Pocket 3 because for me the major advantage of the 1 and 2 is that they are very discreet but take great videos for their size. For me the 3, while obviously being a superior camera to both the 1 and 2, especially in low light, conditions has crossed that line where it is too big to be discreet, especially with the screen on horizontal, imo, using a phone on a gimbal won't make much difference. I already have a new iPhone 15 and a gimbal that I can use at night so not planning to get a Pocket 3, but I still use my Pocket 2 when I am making walking videos and want to stay as low key as possible. Just my view. Thanks for the useful video.
All good points! One thing I should have mentioned in the video is you can use the Pocket 3 without flipping the screen horizontally. Still probably too big for what you're thinking, but just FYI.
Mr.Huang what an AMAZING video it's time consuming and a lot of work to do so thank you for doing this 👏👏👏👏 will be keeping my osmo 1 and maybe in a year or 2 when the price drops substantially I'll get a 3 and keep both but for now the difference isn't worth it to me!! Again great job on the video.
The comparison i'm looking for - Thanks for doing this! After seeing this, not sure now if worth the upgrade. I know the 1nch sensor on pocket 3 a better cam in low light performance.
Thanks for the comparison video! Considering the Pocket 3 though I barely touched my Pocket 1. All the more reason I shouldn't even be considering the 3 just because it looks super cool! Sidebar I'm originally from Indy, so I appreciate the scenery!!
I enjoy connecting the phone as a screen....pocket 1 looks more cinematic....color is cinematic.....3 could be used in a wide shot but it depends....I don't care about the tracking....only what's cinematic....low light on the 3 is a plus but still is there a way to connect a phone to it?
I've been watching Pocket 3 videos since the release and I don't know. The image while overall pretty nice (especially in log damn), seems digital and fake. It definitely does some processing on the skin and face and I don't like that.I think I would rather get the action 4 but I already have a "proper" camera.
The Pocket 3 looks amazing, but there is still that noticeable vertical movement. Only if they could give you the option to be be able apply some rock steady on the pocket. There is a difference in quality, but honestly not enough to say oh wow I can tell them apart. There is a big difference in low light. The big screen is a big plus and will maybe buy one once the price drops. Also how close are you holding the pocket 1? I hold it at a comfortable distance and I get my whole body and shoulder in the frame.
I held them both just about arm's length, but I too felt like it was kind of close while filming this video. I felt like it hasn't been like that in the past, so maybe I was more conscious of just how far you need to hold it out to keep everything in frame.
Agree! After viewing the noticeable vertical movement from Pocket 3 video, I cancelled my Pocket 3 order and bought a used Pocket 3 since it is lighter and better AWB natural color.
Well. I have osmo 1 from 2019. Of course, Osmo 3 much better in camera but still not novation enough for me. I will buy new Osmo (or analog cam) only if it will has optical zoom (and maybe macro). And I like 80 degrees of Osmo pocket. Less FOV=less crop in final vid.
I like my two in its smallest configuration. If I need a screen I wireless my phone. Much better battery time and I trust it to record what I point it at. My mirrorless is always going to be much better for detail.
For $120 more than a Go Pro 12 DJI gives you so much MORE!!!!!! Mine's coming tomorrow WHeelie POV incoming!!! I stopped at the GoPro Hero 9 because newer versions were so lack luster.....
I think I will stick with Osmo pocket one . the field of view you can overcome it by having pocket one stick. The only advantage I found in three is the microphone and the vertical mode. I think I’ll spend my money somewhere else.
hello i just want some budget camera for forest and mountains walking trips and to do some vlogs. the only thing i rly care is that mechanical stabilisation. i just found some Pocket 1 used but in good shape for 100$ is it worth buying it? im not sure about the battery life but i guess i may use some external powerbank and make it work plugged in?
At 3:11, look at the sky color of both pocket. Obviously, the Pocket 1 has the accurate skype color of our earth. The Pocket 3 has ugly unnatural deep blue color that makes sick. Also, please look at the sands colors of both. The Pocket 3 produced fault blue tone on them. I have both pocket version and consider to use Pocket 1 for outdoors video taking. Thank Robby to provide such clear proof of which one has a better video color.
I always found the view angels far too restricted. I will eventually switch to the 3 but for the amount of video I shoot, it is not worth the money. I also have a Sony a7iii that shoots decent enough video for my purposes.
That is tough to say. It's quite a bit of extra money and I already think this camera is a bit expensive. If you think you'll use the wireless mic, then yes. If not, the other extras are not worth it.
It would also be nice if you could also do a review about the file size of the pocket 1 - 3 compared to the iPhone(atleast 13 pro or higher), for me that is one of the important thing

For what it’s worth Pocket 1 is the BEST $ can buy
Pocket original colours look so good!!! I don't under stand why they couldnt replicate those colours in the next generations! I get that the pocket 3 is more complete device but my eyes are constantly drawn on the footage of pocket original
I get what you are saying, but you can color grade your footage and get it to look the same
Best comparison i've seen so far, you make it straight out of the point with a few words
I've used the Pocket 1 off and on for about 3 years. It's still pretty handy for those panning time lapse shots. Probably won't invest in replacement anytime soon though. I do like the screen on the new one, since I can never tell if I'm in focus

That was an outstanding, pratical, no BS review man. Thank you :) 🙏
I think that Pocket 1 have the best AWB natural colors comparing to 2 or 3.

В Покет 1 просто ужасные цвета лица жолтые
@@Luka_FilmДа и небо ужасное. С такими дефолтными профилями нужно снимать только в log и потом самому красить.
i agree!
Great review! I have the one and wanted the 3 but this made me realize my osmo 1 is great for what I need, a more cinematic look 👍🏼
which filter or lens should i buy for a wide angle look?
Crazy how the 1 holds up so well!
This might be the best product review and comparison I have ever seen. Nice work on the editing too. This oozes quality. Very well done!
Great comparison. This helped a lot! 🎉

Perfectly done. Hit every single point I was curious about. Like you, I skipped the Pocket 2, but I will be getting the 3.
I'll stick to pocket 1
Will the one track large objects such as vechicles at 50-100'?

Strangely enough, I still find Osmo Pocket 1 looks more cinematic
and natural. when he did low light test he looked washed out
I remember there was some noise reduction software and it worked very well, but I forgot the name of the software@@sayhowling
I THINK THIS IS NICE FOR THIS AND THAT TOO SO I THINK I'LL BE GETTING ONE SOMETIME IN THE NEAR FUTURE.

I actually just didn't like the picture quality. It was a noticeable downgrade from the Pocket 1 in my opinion.
