We've seen that a perfect God created the world, and because He is perfect, He demands perfection of us. But we have a problem: we are sinful, decidedly NOT perfect, and therefore we deserve eternal death. So God's solution is to provide a substitute for us, Jesus Christ, who lived a perfect, sinless life. When we respond to His free gift of grace by putting our faith in Jesus Christ alone, God applies His perfect record to our account.
