Well when it comes to all the details they screwed up on, that's where we come in. Us customizers know all the minor details so therefore we're able to fix what they couldn't even if they could have easily done it themselves.
Here's a list of everything they got wrong that I can think of:
Woody - Open mouth, visible eyelids, one eyebrow being higher than the other, closed hands, giant ring, short string, fake gem on the holster, and Jim Hanks' voice instead of Tom Hanks
Buzz - Arms don't move all the way down, helmet won't completely open, no ball jointed wrists, stiff thumbs that can't be moved, and half closed eyelids
The Potato Heads - Eyes and feet are one piece instead of 2 separate pieces, solid arms that aren't bendable, cheap looking ears, and a hollow lip indent molded onto the body (truth be told it's pretty obvious and not really worth mentioning being that Playskool refuses to change their design, but either way it's frustrating we can't get the official Potato Heads from the movies)
Aliens - Hard as a rock plastic and won't squeak

Back in 2010 there wasn’t really a want for “toy mode” looks
KayfabeCandyass I’m sure about it also keep in mind what would be more appealing for a child , a lifeless toy mode look wouldn’t invest a few kids

Funny thing happened,, without knowing i have the dinosaur from Sunny side they used in Toy Story 3 .
I picked it up at a fleamarket and thought..that is a nice toy for my collection but never knew that this dino was in the film

Aww I love this this how Toy Story all started by all these wonderful vintage toys and dolls I honestly just adore and love vintage dolls and toys idk why I love vintage toys so much it just something about them🤔 they are unique in there own ways ik some turn out a bit creepy looking like Baby Laugh A Lot and Little Miss No Name and Hugo Man Of A Thousand Faces etc that's cause they are just unique and I love them the way they are 💋💖💕💕 but some time out really cute like Chatty Cathy and Mrs Beasley ❤ 😘 I just freaking love them and can't wait to get all the vintage dolls and toys I want when I'm older 🥰 I love them a lot hehe you may just call me a vintage toy girl 💕💋

It is amazing the journey toys have taken over the years and cool to see them become reinvented through works of art thanks to Disney/Pixar it is awesome to see new toys born and recreated using older concepts.

@@todayigrewup I'm sure it works just like how Woody's voice box is explained in Toy Story 4. It couldn't have been a digital box, that's for sure, because digital recording and playback just wasn't advanced enough. I bet it's a spring-loaded wind-up record player with a tiny plastic record.

Just a small error but the Etch-a-Sketch was actually created in 1959, you used the date for the Etch-a-Sketch Animator, and you used a Etch-a-Sketch Animator as the example, but we all make mistakes!

It's funny how John Lasseter says Pixar used the same data from the Toy Story character models that they used from the movies for Thinkway to make the Toy Story toys look more accurate to their movie counterparts and they STILL got them wrong. Why does Woody still have an open smile and closed eyelids ? why is one of his eyebrows raised up ? Why can't Buzz Lightyear's helmet still not open all of the way in the back and how come he still can't do the karate chop ? Movie accurate my ass.
You have valid points.... it would be cool. I’ve been trying to mod the Buzz I have but it’s so hard to do.
@@todayigrewup Yeah it's actually not as easy as it looks, you can't remove Buzz Lightyear's helmet on his head without taking it apart completely because the purple button on the sides to open it doesn't work (the Disney Store version is the only one that does that) but even that Buzz still doesn't have a fully retractable helmet. So don't say the toys are movie accurate when they're not, it's false advertising.

They didn't focus on minor details and stuff plus to a kid a closed mouth woody might be creepy. but I think it shouldn't have been hard to do a limited edition adult collector one with a closed mouth.
Yes that’s all we needed a limited edition run for adult collectors.
Yes I think if they had the opportunity to do one specifically for adult collectors they would have been able to make it a near perfect replica of what we see in the films.

@@todayigrewup this was before the Disney renaissance era before they did the black cauldron and The Great Mouse Detective John Lasseter was fired from Disney along with Tim Burton while he was working on The original pitch for The Brave Little Toaster he was trying to make the whole movie cg animated
There is a lot of stuffs that are not right with the Woody figure. Besides the face, also the body shape is not accurate, the chest part is more like a rectangle in the movie and feels with more structure than in the figure. The vest is not stitched to the body as well like in the movie and gives that appearance of cheap toy... The body parts of Woody in the movie looks more like "compressed" in comparison with the collection one though...

@@todayigrewup Lee Unkrich (the film editor of the first two Toy Story movies) directed Toy Story 3 but Lasseter still wrote the story. He was originally supposed to return to direct Toy Story 4 but Josh Cooley took over the role after Lasseter quit due to working on other films and then when the sexual harassment allegations against him came to light he left Toy Story (and Pixar) for good.
