In Japan, it’s what “itadakemasu” means, when they say eat before they start eating. It’s mindful eating, not just shoving whatever junk food down. I always thought sumo wrestlers were lazy guys that couldn't loose weight and decided to do sumo and eat unhealthy junk food, but this opened my eyes and I have respect for them, they are actually hard working and not lazy at all, this guys is s dedicated and probably eat more healthy than most people out there who claim to be healthy! and he seems so happy and healthy with such a positive energy.

He is the world champion in amateur sumo. He retired from professional sumo in 2005 and never got past the 3rd division. That said, he seems to be a real cool guy and going to the US and starting amateur sumo was probably a very good decision for him.
He has to be able to cook and speak japanese, cause he was in Japan in a camp and the lower rank fighters have to cook and serve the higher ranked ones. So every Sumo wrestler will be able to cook Chanko
