It really is sad to see how little appreciated Dimentio as a whole is. No one seems to remember him, despite him probably being the most powerful character in the whole Mario universe, as well as across several other universes not including Mario.

@@NiccoloGagliani Yes but that doesn't mean Mario is as powerful as Dimentio. He had the help of very specific powerful items to do it, and they were mainly built for that one purpose. If Mario tried using the Pure Hearts to be powerful outside of their intended purpose of being used to defeat the user of the Chaos Heart, it would very likely do nothing.

There is one little thing about Dimentio that could shorten this video a lot, and you even mentioned it yourself.
NOTHING can stop the holder of the Chaos Heart exept the four heroes with the pure hearts. Even if Cipher can manipulate the heroes into serving him, Dimentio can just put one of them into a separate dimention and now they are all helpless again.
Bill could just manipulate time and space, and boom, he has the chaos heart.

Ben 10 vs Green Lantern is a very shitty example of a poorly researched Death Battle considering how hard Hal stomps. If you really want a poorly researched Death Battle, you're better off sticking to season 1
The worst Death Battle is Thanos vs Darkseid. They didn’t take into account that the Reality Gem can open/forbid portals to and from its home universe, making Boom Tubes inoperable. Even if Darkseid could eventually break in, it would buy Thanos enough time to make as many 8th Note Machines as he could possibly need. If Darkseid has the Soulfire he stomps, but without it there’s no chance.

Damn bro... Super Paper Mario was a game I played when I was really little and I learned a LOT watching this. Like seriously, I didn't even know that much about the lore!
Just my thoughts. Hot damn, I knew NOTHING about the true lore!
The lore is hidden away in optional dialogue boxes of side characters. You need to talk to both flipside and flopside people for hours to get these kind of details and even then they’re presented as speculative at best.

Kinda scary to think about this though. I watched Gravity falls and Bill was very terrifying (mostly on paper). Look at all he does! But now there's a 2D jester who surpasses him about tenfold!
I wouldn't want to meet either in irl (okay thats not true it would be cool as hell) but Dimentio who be worse to meet. Especially if he's in a bad/fighting mood.

Bill would actively torment you on sight, Dimentio would probably just ignore you.

See, it all depends on the circumstances in which you meet Dimentio, for example: If you're in a public area, you could just see Dimentio entertaining the masses and walk right past him. If you insult him or do something he doesn't like, he'll just teleport you and himself into his personal pocket dimension where he can do whatever he wants to you. Torture, psychological warfare, turning you into his personal puppet, you name it. But if the Ultimate Show is set in motion, Super Dimentio will kill you ON SIGHT. Afterall, he has a goal and he intends to fullfill it. So, yeah. Dimentio's not more chill, he's an actor, a trickster wearing a theatre mask to decieve you with his charismatic personality and lure you into a false sense of security. Dimentio just hides his sadistic nature and insanity behind that mask and a polite crimson smile, he's akin to a volcano about to erupt at any given second.
Your Dimentio respect thread was wonderful, everything explained in a perfect grade.
Except for the part that you scaled Paper Mario and co. to him, that's innacurate, the only character that can be scaled to Dimentio is Count Bleck with the Chaos Heart, but every other enemy that Mario and co. beated are nowhere near multiversal level, not even universal.
Dimentio was always playing with the heroes, he was never harmed by them, he could have killed or erased Mario with extremely ease in any encounter, but of course he needed him and the rest of the heroes to fulfill his plan, even in his *ultimate show* as Super Dimentio he was playing and humillating the heroes, it was until the Pure Hearts weakened him and empowered the heroes that we could say they were "scaled" to him.
That logic falls off the rails when you realize Paper Mario scales to Mario and Luigi, who took on a being similar in power (actually he's far superior but I'm not gonna wank here) to Dimentio: Dreamy Bowser, run by a stone that's possibly infinite dimensional and is definitely at least 12 D. Even so, YES, Mario and crew can scale to Dimentio. His defeat in Dimension D proves as such.
Shadow Queen’s definitely Universal. I wouldn’t put her higher than that, however.

That’s true. The source of Bill’s knowledge, I think, is just his immortality. He’s had quite literally all the time in the world to study it. But he can’t know things like the future or things he can’t study from the people in the world. But Dimentio is able to predict and foresee knowledge that may not even exist at the time of him using his foresight. Whatever Bill is able to learn by waiting for it to come around, Dimentio has already learnt what it is thousands of years prior

I loved this, the only problem i had was that sometimes information and text would appear and disappear too quickly for me to read and sometimes you would start talking too fast and I was unable to keep up. Other than that this was an amazing and well thought out video!

Dimentio's entire story being relevant to one game and nowhere outside it is such a shame. This is a character that could be a constant presence in the lore. To compare with Bill, we can equate one episode of Gravity Falls to one Mario adventure. Bill is present throughout even if he doesn't appear in every episode. He's even in the title sequence and his presence is felt indirectly through details all over the series. If Nintendo cared about the lore added in the Mario RPGs, Dimentio could be a similar case. A looming greater threat who views our 3-dimensional reality as a cute game, that shows up from time to time to fuck with people like Bill does in the episodes prior to Weirdmageddon. But no, Dimentio gets introduced and killed off in the same game and while other great villains from the RPGs, such as Fawful, have managed to recur to an extent, they still never got to shine outside the RPGs and are usually either killed off or ignored outside the RPGs. The most we get for Mario villains that stay relevant are Bowser and... his minions... (not even all of them too, where the FUCK did Kammy go) There's also Wario I guess but nowadays he's more of an anti-hero. I actually like Bowser better in that kind of role too, the villains like Dimentio were always the ones I liked the most.
I only recently watched Gravity Falls for the first time and Bill is such a fun character and he definitely reminds me of Dimentio in more ways than one. I think if Dimentio were to ever appear in a cartoon, he'd be written similarly to how Bill is. And I'd be all over that. I like how Bill isn't killed off for good either. He's seemingly "erased" but Stan regained his memories soon after so who's to say Bill can't be included in that? Bill could still be hiding in Stan's mind, watching the outside world through Stan's eyes and waiting for the perfect time to strike back. Dimentio didn't get that possibility. He could have, but they'd have put some details in that entertain the thought. We see Bleck and Tippi in their true form, happy in paradise but nothing is ever done to suggest Dimentio could have survived. It would be cool for an encore story with Dimentio but Nintendo doesn't even want to acknowledge ANY character from SPM or earlier exists anymore, even in the Paper Mario series. Sorry kinda got ranty, I just get emotional when I think about how amazing SPM's characters and plot are, along with most of the other 2000s RPGs, and how Nintendo's treatment is literally polar opposite, as if they were disgraces to the Mario brand (which Nintendo likes to arbitrarily keep knee-deep and sterile)
So to me, Bill scratches the Dimentio-shaped itch i guess. It would be cool to see them team up. Also, Alex Hirsch is now one of my top picks for a Dimentio voice if he ever was in a voice acted production. Right next to Man on the Internet's voice for him, who is also named Alex (Beckham).
Side note regarding Bill's voice, I actually had watched The Owl House before watching Gravity Falls, and King has basically Bill's voice but without the effects. It's insane how contrasting their characters are and how different the energy is they emit just from the presence of that echo effect. King is sympathetic and lovable, Bill is a demonic psychopath (but still lovable).
Both of these characters are insanly powerful jeez
someone pls just take reigns of this wonderful series. This series is fantastic and we can't just have it ruined and died because of what the creators did. This should be taken upon someone else to continue it. nobody has too, but i bet that anyone, even myself if i am up to it, can take the torch of this series and continue it so that this idea of "facts over laughs" within the vs community dose not die a quick death and still live on with the people who truly care about it.
not expecting much on the impact of this statement or if it would even be taken seriously, but i do hope that someone or even myself can have this series live on and not be forgotten.

I came here looking to fault the logic of a mario fanboy screeching incoherently about Dimentio being unbeatable... What I got was pretty concrete evidence of Dimentio's power both before and after absorbing the Chaos Heart and.. yeah no... Bill has no consistent way of beating Dimentio, if, hypothetically speaking, a series of, let's say one thousand, different dimension versions of Dimentio and Bill Cipher, all identical in abilities to the ones discussed in this video, all fought simultaneously, more Dimentios would win than Bills
