I know this is after the fact but, especially on a convertible, you should weld some square tube stiffeners between the back and front pillar support so that the body doesn't collapse or even bend permanently. I lifted my convertible body off it's frame like that. You can always grind off the welds when you are done.
Yes sir, that's how I did it. You will get better after you have had it on an off 30 times or so...:-) When you start to do body work etc, you will need to have it on the frame a few times to check for gaps/alignment etc....
