Great videos so far. I can tell you understand what you're talking about and not just copying from a book.

Hey brother, just wanted to reach out and say thanks for making these videos. I'm almost done with medic school and I love learning as much as I can about EKGs. Also, right around the 12:50ish mark, you mention that aVR and Lead II should be almost look like opposit of each other, which is true. But I believe you may have accidentally misspoken when you said that Lead II should have a negative deflection and that aVR should be positive. I think you meant to say the other way around. Thanks again for these great videos! Subscribed!

Love your videos and explanations! I help teach ECGs and 12 leads so always looking to learn new as well as hear a new way to explain to nurses. I have a question? If we use the + electrode (LLE) and leads 2,3 and avF all use it for the positive electrode, how is it that the deflection is more to the left on lead 2, more to the right on lead 3 and straight as 90 degrees on avF? I can’t get that part in my head and look thru so many videos to see if it’s explained?

Check out my axis tutorial. I think you’ll appreciate the information.

The Resuscitationist I’m actually relistening to all of the Axis parts now. I get the Triangle, so the electrode we place on the patient is not the actual spot that all three leads, 2,3,avF are actually focused at. Even though it’s the positive lead? It’s a representation of the triangle instead of the electrode? Is the electrode just there to “make” the triangle and the computer turns this into where lead 3 is more to the right and lead avF is right at the 90 degree? Is that making sense? Or am I over thinking it ?

As long as the electrodes are positioned correctly, they work together to create the leads. The physical location and actual position of view may vary a little. You are really just establishing the angle of the lead and then anything that shows up electrically in the frontal plane will be picked up by it.
It is a confusing concept to fully grasp, and even harder to explain!

The Resuscitationist thank you so much for helping me understand it. To teach anything I have to deep dive into it fully!
