2006 Honda Accord Coupe V6 - One Take

  • This North-American seventh-generation Honda Accord Coupe is a stock, clean example featuring the optional 244-Horsepower V6 and 6-speed manual transmission. International viewers will note that the US version of the Accord is drastically different to European and Japanese accords, which we got a version of in the USA, as the Acura TSX. These cars are very well made, durable, comfortable, and even reasonably fast for the price, with good, confident driver inputs and a spacious interior.

If you turn on subtitles when he goes through the tunnel and floors it, the subtitles say music. That's appropriate.

Probably the best combo of luxury, style, power, sportiness, and daily-drivability for most car guys that only have enough room for one car. I though about getting one for a long time, never pulled the trigger though. Although it was a shame this car never got an LSD while the Acura TL/CL and Civic Si did.

Bugsy K Yeah that's what I was thinking, he was most likely blazing up before he did the video. Plus he has bad back problems as well, so it could just be from his pain medicine if he takes any. I remember every time I was prescribed vicodin for my many back surgeries, I would just constantly talk when I was around people and never shut up lol. Then again its not really any of my business, he could have just been in a good mood that day. I'm also dreading for the day that the very last One Take is uploaded. I'll admit I am curious to see where he takes his channel, but no matter what he ends up doing I'll sure miss the good ol' One Takes that I would always watch while on my lunch breaks at work.

I know this car is stock but I think they could've gone into a little more detail about the car. It really is an under-rated car. This is the Accord that has made the transition from boring to contender. It was close to a sub-6-second 0-62 MPH car. Very close to the E36 M3 straight-line performance. The looks are pretty mundane so I think most people assume it is a regular boring Accord. I just picked up a 2003 coupe V6 6-spd. The J-Series swap options are very impressive. You can build a J-Series engine using the J32A3 block to increase the displacement to 3.6Ls using the Acura RL/MDX 3.7L cranks. Using only OEM parts from various Acura/Honda J-engines, you can make over 325 crank HP with an exhaust upgrade and some tuning. I have a 1995 M3 3.0L that I will make some comparison videos of while the J30A4 engine is stock to give an idea of how close they are.I will be documenting my build on my website/IG account. I will compare it to my 3.6L Porsche 996 911 when I am done with the J36 build, as well.

I know this is an old comment brother but I completely agree with you and I would like to know if you ever did start building this because I've always been a Civic CRX Integra and S2000 guy but I picked up a one owner V6 6-speed Coupe 04 Accord with the hfp package Honda factory performance options with the front lip rear lip side screw it spoiler different Wheels leather heated seats etc and I will tell you with the hfp package they look amazing it's like a completely different car they look way more aggressive than just the regular coupes like in the video and my uncle owned it since brand new and I bought it from him for a really good deal only has 60k original miles and I've just gone through every piece of maintenance top to bottom front to back on the engine suspension you name it it's all been gone through right now mine just has cold air intake full dual exhaust J pipe with third cat delete and precat delete getting ready to do J 37 intake manifold and throttle body and Acura TLX type S ECU and hondata with Dyno tune yes the 3.7 is the better option but since the car only has 60k original miles and I just did every single belt hoses gaskets seals spark plugs ignition coils fuel injectors fuel pump every piece of suspension front to back I figure I might as well build this j30a4 for all it has till it gets tired then go j37
Plus this is my daily driver I have a 95 Civic coupe that's my built track car

So glad Matt did one of these!!! I owned the 2004 model year; 6spd Navi Coupe Accord with the 17inch wheels, black on black with every option. (Hey Matt....not everyone had one in this trim...mine was pretty rare with the 6mt, Nav and 17's) As far as quality, comfort & reliability goes, it was by far the best car I've ever owned....including my e92 335i and B7 Audi S4. The only repair ever needed was the wiper motor. Bought the car with 5k miles and sold it with 198k eight years later. It never burned a drop of oil and when I sold it the motor was still so quiet you couldn't hear it run. Original clutch was still in great shape. For a 244hp car, it was pretty quick. With all season tires, it was good for a 14.2 quarter mile. One of the best daily drivers ever.

Although both cars are automatics both engines have been the absolute best in terms of durability. The miles they are both capable of is insane. Now that Honda has gone to turbo/cvt I don't know if that is true anymore. And to get a v6 anymore you're stuck with getting a Pilot or an Acura.

So very very happy to see you review this! Highly underrated car. Sadly I got my 03 auto T-Boned several months ago but not a day goes by that I don't miss it, and can't wait until I have it back in driving condition and licensed. Also have a CAI on mine, but also put on the J37 magnesium intake manifold and throttle body, and one day will be getting the J pipe as well as magnaflow catback, and already own the 6 speed to swap (I know, a bit much) so I can get a K tuner reflash. It honestly is a great all purpose car, especially once you can tune it and get some suspension work done, definitely surprises people at the light!

4:34, Matt has a hard time getting the car into 1st while its rolling at less than 10mph.
Every manual transmission car I've driven is kind of like this to one degree or another. All the Toyotas I've owned are real bad about this, not wanting to give you first if you are rolling at 2-5mph.
The workaround is to double clutch downshifting into first unless the car is at a stop. Works like magic on all the manual cars I've driven, stick slides in like butter, you don't have to force it in, I'm sure its much better on the synchro.
If you don't know what a double clutch is, car is in 2nd, push clutch in, push stick forward to neutral between first and 2nd, release clutch and then re-engage clutch quickly(not super quick though), then shift to first. Stick should slide in like butter. At least that does the trick on my 2004 Tacoma 4 cylinder and my 1992 Lexus SC300.

The 2002 ex model was my first car. I still like it better than most the new Honda's out.

    Good day
My Accord has about 117000 miles on it now , when I am traveling at between 125-130 mph I get a slight shake in my steering wheel, is this normal, what should I check?
    Thanks for any answers.

Just bought a well kept 2013 Coupe V6 @ 115k for just over $11k. Worth every penny. These cars are so nice for the money!
It's too bad Honda cut the Accord Coupe. Maybe they'll bring it back when this SUV/CUV craze dies down.

Finally, I was waiting for someone to bring you this car. Wish I was closer, I have a mildly modified 03 6-6 tuned with Hondata that I'd love for you to drive.
