The most important thing about Rafa Nadal is not the way he plays, the technique he uses or how he hits the ball, the most important thing about Rafa is his spirit! Because it's something that is much bigger than tennis, it's a message for the people who're struggling and an attitude towards life!
He is an icon of resistance, a true warrior without sword but with racquet that inspires a lot of people in their normal lifes, and that's what matters over the sport and the player, the icon he is, and that goes beyond any borders. He is an international icon of effort and fight.
Proud to have seen you through these years long, and proud to live in your era.
Congratulations to Medvedev too, he made an amazing match, great fight and great tennis for him.

Congratulations to Rafa! From a Federer fan, I have come to love and appreciate Rafa over the years for his humility, hard work, and passion for the game. I have no qualms if he passes Roger in GS titles. I could not think of anyone more deserving. He and Roger will forever be in my heart as one of the greatest rivalries in all of sports for all time. Two amazing players, completely different in style, who have such tremendous respect and appreciation for each other and who pushed each other to greater and greater heights. That's what sports are all about. Even from a Fed fan, I have to say, congrats and vamos, Rafa! You deserve it!

Bravo to US Open to posting the whole ceremony so we can see the players' interviews back to back. I'll never forget Daniil's testy relationship with the NYC crowd over that fortnight, and how quickly it was reconciled with an abashed humbleness. The timeless Nadalian humility, after a dominant tournament. Both players deserve to be watched until the end of their respective careers.

To play as he did in his first grandslam final on the biggest stage in world tennis, much respect. All things constant, I fail too see how he won't be a multiple grandslam winner. It takes a whole lot of character to come back from 2 sets down against a fighting-for-every-point Rafa, taking into account that he has played so much tennis leading up to this tournament , and in this tournament as well. This kid has a bright future ahead of him.

I cried, screamed, cheered, prayed (?), I did everything in the last 3 games of the 4th set and during the whole 5th set. When the match ended, I couldn't even talk lol, I was so emotionally exhausted, and my body was extremely exhausted as well, the nerve got its toll on my body. I am so proud, and so happy for Rafa, happy beyond words. I've been a fan for the last 15 years, followed tennis because my dad likes tennis and is a fan of Roger's, that brought me to be a hardcore fan as well. That match was, idk, I'm running out of adjectives, but one thing for sure, it's emotionally draining. I'm quite proud of myself that I never once did hoping for Daniil to make double fault or bad unforced errors, even though in the last set I was a bit like, whatever, just whatever as long as Rafa win lol, but I couldn't help but love how the crowd cheered for him as well, that he acknowledged his mistakes and people acknowledged that he's genuine. And Rafa, ahhh, what a lovely human being. Sorry I made an essay in a yt comment section, I'm not even sure the sentences make sense or not haha, I was and still am so emotional.

It is amazing to see the raw emotion of Nadal watching himself. It is almost like he is remembering every hour he has spent on the court. How much of his life he has committed. Every injury he has suffered and rehabilitation he went through just to be where he is. He has the least amount of natural talent of all the top three yet he has continued to find a way to win. He has never been able to rely on a big serve to get him out of trouble. He has had to battle every point and win most of them with his ground strokes. He has won the French open 12 times and many consider it to be the hardest of the majors to win. He has won multiple Grand Slams on all three surfaces, something Federer and Djokovic have so far been unable to do. Rafael Nadal has earned his place in tennis history.

Medvedev is such a class individual! So humble and authentic. 💚 So well spoken. I look forward every time to listening to him and "how" he shares his intentions. He may have come second but he came first in being who he is as a human being. 💛 To be able to say the things he does and how he says it he must have some very special wonderful people who are key mentors in his life. I am so proud of him. I hope he reads this comment or others similar to this so to encourage him that he is showing what a wonderful competitor 💪 and human being he is. I so look forward to watching him succeed to his fullest. 💯 🇨🇦

I am not surprised Rafa was emotional and you really can’t blame him for being emotional. This montage has just done probably what Rafa has not done yet and that is reflect on his career. Look how far he has come and the injuries he had to overcome to achieve what he has is just remarkable. Even if Rafa does not overtake Roger, Rafa has been an amazing talent for tennis and when he calls it quits it’s going to be a sad day

Now that I'm in my 30's and she is no longer with us, there's something about watching Nadal these years, it's like looking through a weird mirror where I also get to see my life and how it's moved in adjacent to his...
