    i have the mjx mew1, it get at least 300m plus on video distance. and the controller range is close to a mile...rural area. must be a faulty one you have. nice test Bryan.

    That's a shame about the range, but it does seem to fly well. This is the one that reminds me of the Anafi. At least no one can say you flew beyond VLOS, LOL.

      The control signal will go over 1000 feet. The video signal won't. You are making statements with no knowledge.

    The 2000 ft range that's claimed is the control signal. The video signal is wifi. The wifi signal will reach maybe 300 yds in perfect conditions. I typically lose the video signal at around 450 to 500 feet with trees around. You can still control the drone though but it is hard to see it. If I get it out there that far and lose the camera signal and can't see it well I just hit RTH and wait until I get the signal back. It won't fly away. If it does lose control signal for 6 seconds it does an autonomous RTH.

    Cuddy range limitation be because your streaming video via Wi-Fi. Maybe the range goes farther without needing a Wi-Fi connection and in turn using just the controller. Just a thought. Any idea?

  • @rayanderson4119
    @rayanderson4119 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    You're watching the video over a wifi. 802.11n has a range of roughly 235 feet, so 300 is actually darn good. The app does allow you some control, but since your phone and controller aren't connected in any way, anything control-wise on the phone is also limited by the wifi. But that has nothing to do with the range of the controller. It would be interesting to find a flat field closer to 2000 feet and let someone walk along with the phone connected to the drone while you control it. The little thing would be hard to see from that far away, but then you'd get a true reading of what the controller will do.

    • @tdrdronesebikesandscooters8377
      @tdrdronesebikesandscooters8377  ปีที่แล้ว

      I think everyone is aware radio control signal is different from wifi signal but wifi signal is what we are looking at here as you can't see the drone after 300 or so feet.

    • @sevenrats
      @sevenrats ปีที่แล้ว

      @@tdrdronesebikesandscooters8377 Sure but you stated that you're afraid it will fly away if you go too far which makes it sound like you didn't understand the difference. It will not fly away. If it loses control signal it auto RTH. Ray Anderson is correct.
