    Just threw these into a board and they have a really nice thock/pop/cream balance. A little lighter press than I would want but really happy overall

      I agree, they're very pleasant. Still among my all-time top switches!

    I really enjoy your videos! So relaxing to watch. I'm also glad you use the Monsgeek M1 for your switch reviews, I have that one as well so it gives me a better idea what the switches sound like more accurately for me.

      I'm so glad you found it helpful - that was one of the main reasons I chose the M1 as my switch review board, that a lot of us enthusiasts have it at their hands! Thank you for your comment! ^^

    I prefer these greatly over banana splits, CJs, Tangies or Aqua Kings. Such a great price too.

      I haven't had the chance to try those yet, but I can agree that the Akashi is an excellent switch. It's actually in my Top5.

    I'm so glad I came across your channel, it's a treasure trove for anyone chasing the thocc! How would you rank the Bsun Akashi, Bsun Agarwood, and Oil King in terms of thockiness?

    Linear alright sound pretty tactile though

    • @thoccnology
      @thoccnology  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hm, might be because of the poppy top housing?

  • @riceoverwife

    try to compare to some other long pole switches, all of which were covered seem to be regular length

    • @thoccnology
      @thoccnology  ปีที่แล้ว

      Akashi is not supposed to be a long pole switch (at least according to my pieces of information)

    • @thoccnology
      @thoccnology  ปีที่แล้ว

      also my main approach was used to serve a comparison with widely/commonly known switches in regards of the sound profile (so that everyone can grasp the difference)
      but you're right, I'll pay more attention on the stem length comparison too in the future ^^

    • @riceoverwife
      @riceoverwife ปีที่แล้ว

      @@thoccnology the switch has a total travel of 3.7mm, i'm fairly sure its long pole, but correct me if I'm wrong; sorry for the inconvenience

    • @thoccnology
      @thoccnology  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@riceoverwife as to my understanding long pole is the one that's pole touches the bottom first during bottom-out (rather than the stem legs touching the bottom first)
      it's depending on the size of the housing and the length of the stem
      e.g. imagine a stem that has a pole no longer than the 'stem skirt' - it still can travel 3.7mm, until the stem legs touch the bottom
      it's really hard to measure - because the stem pole touching the bottom can only be seen with transparent housings

    • @thoccnology
      @thoccnology  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@riceoverwife also no need to be sorry 🙂 it's such a chaotic topic
      as I feel there's a massive confusion in the keeb community regarding long-pole vs. long-stem switches too
      I just feel that it's that kind of information where we have to rely on the manufacturer's statements (unfortunately.. as a tech person it hurts me so bad 😂)

    I don't understand your sound test. What are you comparing? What's on the left and right?

    • @thoccnology
      @thoccnology  ปีที่แล้ว

      What do you mean by left and right?
      Regarding the sound test nothing is different, just the camera angle, so that the viewer doesn't get bored with the sight :)

    • @AllelineNguyen

      @@thoccnology What's the difference between the G and H key starting at 1:45? The text description on screen sometime say "hand-lubed" or "stock / unlubed", but these are two different things. For example, "stock / unlubed" could mean that G is "stock" and H is "unlubed", which could make sense. But then what do G and H mean when it's labeled "hand-lubed"? Does it mean they're BOTH hand hand-lubed and there's no difference between G and H in that case?

    • @thoccnology
      @thoccnology  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@AllelineNguyen G and H are always the same.
      Some switches come lubed from the factory, some come unlubed from the factory, hence the different text.
      I have to mention these things to clarify that the stock (I mean out-of-box) version can differ for manufacturers (based on their choice of issuing unlubed/lubed versions).
      I'll try to be more clear with the texts next time! :)

    • @AllelineNguyen
      @AllelineNguyen ปีที่แล้ว

      @@thoccnology Thanks. I think it's interesting that I do hear a difference between the G and H key though. Maybe it's due to the key position in board layout. These switches sound pretty good. I just ordered almost 100 of the BSUN Bunny switches, and maybe I should have ordered these instead.

    • @thoccnology
      @thoccnology  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@AllelineNguyen Yeah, I also hear the difference, I tested many of my boards and almost all of them show this big difference between the G and H, so it must be the position as you said.
      But I'm waiting for a keycap delivery too, that might be even more consistent in thickness. Hope this would minimize the phenomenon.
      I was also eyeing the Bunny switches, please let me know how they sound irl once they arrive.
