I saw that Taylor Swift uses/used this mic so I brought it and it’s pretty good. I use this in conjunction with the Avalon by 737sp, Warm Audio wa76, Warm Audio bus comp, and Drawmer 1974. In the box I use it with the Acustica Audio Lava using the ELAM 251 setting and the Acustica Audio Titanium 3 comp. I bought the CV12 for $321.00 on sale
The Avantone CV12 is a good mic.... One of many C12 clones... But I think the best C12 clone right now is the Warm Audio WA CX12... It is unreal that it sounds that good for only $1000...... I hope you get a chance to review it... Great vids bro!!!!!.... Super informative!!!!...
what do you think is the best c12 sounding mic under 600 could be a clone or anything rn i have a slate ml1 and at4040 and i feel that the 4040 has that c12 characteristic
I have two of them, and I think the sound best on female vocals - probably because of the low mids coming through strong on it. I purchased this mic because it was Taylor Swift's vocal mic of choice on like her first 4 albums, and I'm pretty sure she can use any mic she wants.
I really like the CV12 i use it with my Rupert Neve 511 along JDK Audio V12. Most times i use this mic over my TLM49.. when i use it with the Avalon 737 smooth sound.
If you want something brighter go for the Lauten. Lauten runs a couple sales a year, I'd try the Avantone first since its $399 right now. If you don't like it return and wait for the Lauten to go on sale.
I would love to hear that mic being used in a S/M setup with several instruments , electric guitar cabinet (w/4 - 12" spks) an acoustic guitar, a drum room mic and in a couple patterns of a deeper.. like baritone male voice....
Great review. I agree with your conclusions about this mic regarding clarity and color. How is the build quality for $500? Honestly not a super great example of male vocals. That vocalist is very much still in the female vocal range. I would've liked to hear a more typical lower register example to contrast the female.
I bought this mic 7 years ago and I was told by a professor 12 years ago that the power supply that swift used wasn’t the one that comes with the mic

It Was Model After The Sony C800G

Agreed. I think there’s too much nasal coming through on men’s

I run the 511 into a v12 to, for rap vocals mostly
@@TheAudioCzar I use it for that also and RNB but if the singer has a light voice i add the Fatso for the extra saturation.
@@01halo now that I think of it, the cv 12 with that silk from the 511 should be really nice
@@TheAudioCzar indeed I set it at 3:00 o'clock
Hey man do you think spending the extra cash for the lauten audio 320 is worth it? Or would I be okay with this mic.

Is this a good home studio mic?
